We had tree roots growing under artificial turf needing to be removed, yard drains requiring cleaning and flush, lighting requiring replacement and upgrade, and a firepit to be retrofitted. Each day the job site was cleaned when work was completed. We would recommend that anyone considering new landscaping or landscape retrofitting contact BMJ for a proposal. We would definitely hire them again.

David Ollis and his crew did "extreme makeover" to our backyard. The massive works include concrete retaining walls, drainage system, patio decorative concrete, veneer wall covers, concrete edging, stone decorated paving, sod grass placement, irrigation systems, trees/shrub/flowers plantings, landscape lighting and integrated sound system. They also replaced the foundations of the 2 old patio covers (pergolas) and assist in restoring them, which save us a lot of money. As an senior engineer for more than 20 years, I found David as a very professional and fair contractor. His great knowledge in landscaping works save us money in the concrete and retaining works design, planting and irrigation system selections, and most important, he solved unexpected problems and issue during the excavation and planting preparation works. His crews were also very professional with a high attention to details. We are so happy with works, especially with the high quality of the final product. We definitely made the right choice! Happy to find out, the homeowner worked for Davis Ollis Landscape! She gave me the contact information and David came down to give me an estimate for everything I wanted done. I knew it wouldn't be cheap, but unfortunately it was a lot more than I could afford right now. The quote was broken down by segment of the different parts of the yard so I asked if I could choose one part for my rear yard and if they would honor the pricing for that one part which they did. Last Monday, the crew came, and tore out the old grass and planted new Sod. The crew was friendly, quick and did a wonderful job. They even fixed a broken PVC pipe that I didn't know was broken at no additional cost! A week later, the new Sod is coming in nicely and I couldn't be happier with the job that was done. If I had to critique one thing, it would be trying to confirm scheduling. I had to continue to follow up to get confirmation of days and times, but other than that, I am very happy with the end result. There is still the other parts of the yards that I want done, but I will for sure be calling them to complete the other stages as soon as I can! Thank you David for the great work on such a small part of my project!

WARNING: Poor quality and ongoing issues:…read more We hired this company in November for a full landscape project that included a waterfall feature, pond, irrigation, hardscape, uplights/lighting, 40 trees and 40 misc plants. MORE THAN SEVEN MONTHS LATER the work is still not complete and the issues continue. The waterfall has leaked from the beginning, the pond still loses water, and the irrigation system is unreliable. Multiple trees, shrubs, and plants are dying, including dozens of recently installed evergreens that are not growing as promised. Continuous hand watering and constant upkeep required to try and save the yard because of the issues left unresolved or quality of the initial installs. Many of these plants do not appear well-suited for the climate. Even with a mild winter, they required tying for support, and many are now sagging, leaning, or failing to establish. This reflects a lack of understanding about what actually works in this environment. Irrigation pipes have leaked underground for months, contributing to irrigation failures and extremely high water bills. Despite our repeated efforts to get this resolved, the problems persist. The third pipe busted today. There are concerns of what we can't see with water underneath the house. The project was not delivered as it was sold to us, leaving us with sacrifices, unexpected expenses, and constant disruption. We have given up much of our winter, spring, and now the start of summer just trying to fix, babysit, or mitigate further damage to the property. One major issue was a mudslide caused by their failure to remove excess dirt after digging out the pond. The mud filled the waterfall and basin, requiring a major cleanup that we had to handle ourselves before they eventually came to clear it. To date, there is still an issue with mud leeching into the waterfall when irrigating. Our concerns and suggestions were repeatedly ignored until the exact problems we warned about happened. Communication has been difficult due to language barriers, and we have experienced evasive or misleading behavior from both sales and ownership. Several requests to speak with the owners have never been acknowledged. There is a clear lack of expertise in water feature design, irrigation planning, plant selection, and working with the local environment. Pricing is extremely high for the quality delivered. Most disappointing of all, we had planned a wedding on the property and had to cancel the entire event because the landscape was not finished (could not be completed with the problems or not presentable. Despite every effort to work with them in good faith, we are still without resolution and continue to uncover new problems. WE CANNOT USE ANY OF THE FEATURES INSTALLED AS OF THIS DATE (ongoing and will be updated) Note: Photos included are limited and do not show the full scope of the project or all issues encountered. Many images have been withheld to protect the privacy of those involved or neighbors.
