Just left this new and improved Indian joint. Used to be Indian Masala Grill, but they changed the "staff and kitchen" according to the signs on the tables. I almost started a review as I was eating because I was so eager to let people know how awesome this place is. Appears to be family owned, and the owners/employees we interacted with were so pleasant. They also have some new really cool India-themed artwork on the walls. And the FOOD oh my god the food. So flavorful. And for once the spice actually matched my palette; I like my food spicy. But they were able to make other items without any spice for my sister and her kids. I had the butter paneer masala, chicken Tikka, saag paneer, garlic naan, and samosas. Everything was excellent-- packed with so much flavor. The sauces were smooth and buttery and had the flavor depth that Indian food should always have. I was impressed not only with the food but with the whole experience. Stopped here late on a Saturday night purely because the reviews said this is a must-try. I agree. This is typical casual Indian dining which I appreciated. The menu is huge and they have so many unique biriyani options that I, as an Indian lol, had never seen before. Too much to try, too small of a stomach. I ordered paneer tikka masala, garlic naan, idli and sambar, and chai. My plan was to eat most and take the rest home. The service was friendly and the food came out fast. It was all really good and very fresh. The flavors were great. The paneer tikka was far too heavy for me and I could only eat a little before packing the rest but that's Indian restaurant food and it was very tasty. I really liked the idli and sambar as well. Finally, the chai was top-notch and reminded me of home. I wish I could eat more and try some of their biriyani. Very casual and a great spot. I was up in Temecula visiting a friend and was trying to kill time before heading back down to San Diego. My boyfriend found this place and let me tell you that it was a great choice! We ended up getting the butter paneer masala, the fish fry biryani, tandoori roti, and mango Lassi. The service was great, and they were super nice. The food was super flavorful and well seasoned. We got them both as medium and spice wise it was perfect for both of us. There was a decent portion of food, and I did like that they had Indian music videos playing on one TV and the basketball game playing on the other. Would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for an authentic Indian food restaurant. Wish they were closer to San Diego, but I will definitely be back again! read more

"Mild" is actually medium-hot. Ordered three times from them with different "mild" dishes , and each time the mild was so spicy. Too hot to enjoy unfortunately. I enjoy spice but these mild dishes were too much to handle read more

My main complaint is this place often forgot my naan in my takeout orders, so I hope management will improve this & service is better. Happened in the past and again today where I didn't notice until I was home, which was unfortunate since I don't live that close. Would advise everyone else to be sure to check your takeout orders. But otherwise, menu has a lot of options and I really enjoy the food here. My go-to is usually the lamb fry biryani which is SO delicious (be careful on the spice level if you're not used to it though). Chicken tikka masala and butter chicken are also very good. Price is a little steeper for the quantity compared to some other places though and wished like the pani puri & dahi puri came with a bit more but at least the taste is good.  Overall, good indian food and hopefully they can improve! read more

This was some solid late night Indian food. We are from out of town but needed a late night dinner after going out on the town. The portion sizes are really good and the curry comes with an equal part rice. The naan was also delicious. Great service, chill atmosphere, overall good spot! read more

This was definitely better than the place it replaced! I ordered my "go-to", simple (& pretty boring to some) favorite of Chicken Tikka Masala & Garlic Naan. It may be the other Yelpers fault that I didn't order the "medium" level spice...because I thought it would be too spicy, smh. *Note to self: go with your gut! Ugh, huge mistake...the mild chicken was actually sweeter than any I've EVER had, but still good. I appreciate the onions & bell pepper for added flavor in the dish! However, I ordered extra and the Garlic Naan was gooey...lacked flavor & was chewy. This meal would have been awesome with more spice & a slight crunch on the edges of the bread. New ownership. Very satisfied. Garlic naan, super good. Masala Dosa, big, filling, served w/delicious sambar and dipping sauces. This was good, but I have had better. Veg Korma, decent flavor, thick sauce. Tadka Dal (yellow lentils), probably my favorite thing we got. Spicy, super delicious, lentils cooked to perfection. Best part: the people. Very friendly, attentive, brought us more napkins when we ran out, answered tons of questions for us and we had a nice personal conversation as well. We'll definitely go back. Great spot! Meal is fresh, warm, and cozy. Sat just perfectly in my tummy. The lentil soup was really good if you're in the mood for something not too heavy (especially if you're stomach hurts, definitely get a soup!). Fish was very tasty. Chai tea oh I love!! As a former New Yorker and someone who has eaten Indian food for over four decades, I believe I am in a position to say Hyderabad is a sensational restaurant. The food is authentic, and the service is outstanding. It's unfortunate that the restaurant is housed in a former Indian restaurant, that was quite frankly awful. This is by no means reflection on the staff or quality of the food. Just making an observation. I've eaten all the standard entrées offered on the menu and have requested things not on the menu that they've gladly made, and were delicious! I don't write many reviews however, I believe it's important to know this small business needs the support of the community or once again, we will be back to selections like Mantra which is awful. I despaired of finding anything like it moving to Temecula, where to my knowledge there just wasn't much of an Indian community. Count me wrong! Hyderabad Cafe is the equal to or better of any of my favorite haunts up north.
