Great hotel and even better location! The room was clean and comfortable. The check in process went smooth. I have to say that the valet upon arrival was the worst experience I ever had. I am not sure if I caught the guys on a bad day but initially I was going to self park. After doing two loops and being confused on how to access it, I said F it and planned to valet. I pulled up to the valet stand and asked if that was where I dropped off. They asked me to pull up a little bit along the curb. Unbeknownst to me, they assumed I was there to drop something off at the hotel, not valet my car. I mean maybe its just me but don't they get cars dropped off to them all day!? That is their job. After retrieving my multiple bags from the car and approaching the stand where both employees were talking and looking at their phone I asked if that is where I turned my keys in. They held my keys and then said I didn't need a ticket. I was so confused and asked "so I am going to give you my keys to valet my car and you aren't going to give me a ticket?" They then finally realized that I wanted to valet my car. The multiple bags I was holding of my clothes and belongings clearly didn't give off the vibe that I was checking into a hotel.....I walked in to the hotel to check in highly pissed off I paid $70 to valet for one night and the guys were that incompetent. On the way out valet was super efficient and made up for the experience. I believe it was Christopher who retrieved my car for my quickly. He was super friendly and we even chatted for a couple minutes before I took off. read more

The hotel was located downtown Indianapolis, in walking distance to the river walking trail. I was there for a conference, so I appreciated staying right on site and not having to travel. The hotel lobby is updated and nicely decorated. There is a Starbucks that takes mobile orders, as well. The "business area" felt more like a comfortable reading nook, with shelves of colorfully arranged books. It was very welcoming. We did not have a car rental, so we had to do rideshares and food delivery during our stay. Unfortunately, there is construction in the area (June 2026) that made it difficult for the drivers to figure out where to find us. Rooms were a bit outdated and didn't feel super clean. We didn't get our bottled waters daily like we were supposed to. I really needed the water because the water stations in the conference hall were AWFUL. They tasted like algae or as if it was filtered through a swamp. These were water filtering machines, too. Yuck. Elevators were slowwwww. read more

Wonderful hotel in the heart of downtown Indy. Room was clean and it was quiet. They had a group in the bar and it was very crowded. They did not have enough staff to accommodate the crowd. However, my turkey burger was great! My room was set to 65 degrees and it was a little chilly. So I changed the temp only to find out that the heating system has been turned off because it's Spring. Well, I'm from Michigan and Indy is not that far. So while it may be 89 degrees during the day, I know that it could SNOW as well. They were kind enough to bring me a heater, and that made the room better. Before checking out of the hotel, I went to the Fat Rooster which is what the hotel uses for Room Service. I wanted to pick up the food and I didn't see espresso on the menu. I went down for an egg sandwich which was $17; But they had a buffet for $21 so I got that instead. While I waited for my omelette, I toasted some bread. Well I went to add butter, and the bread was moldy! I told the lady who was on omelettes and she apologized profusely. She went and told the guy in the back. Why did the guy start arguing with her that he doesn't critique her. I mean SIR! You have ONE JOB and you're getting upset?? Anywho that kinda spoiled my appetite. All in all not a bad place to stay, but I won't eat at the Fat Rooster ever again. read more

Spent 4 nights there recently and it's a bit worn on the edges. Staff is very nice and location is great for our purpose. Rooms, well it takes nearly 4 minutes to get hot water, one of our beds creaked every time you moved and the valet was overpriced (surge pricing for us). The rooms are smaller than the picture looked and not nearly as bright. Like many big city hotels, it was pricey, everything but the subway. read more

The phone customer service definitely needs work. The "business" area also needs improvement. It is not private and not quiet. I had to lead a meeting immediately after a conference at the hotel, and was told the business area on the ground floor was quiet. Someone was sitting in there laughing loudly and yelling on her cellphone. I started to record her, just to show how rude and disrespectful people can be. It seemed deliberate because the "business area" is a library. Aren't libraries supposed to be quiet? Also, the video on the computer camera wouldn't turn on for a Zoom meeting. Worst of all, I tried to be proactive and call way in advance (about a week) of the conference, to see if I needed to reserve the business area. The woman I spoke with said that there was no need to reserve, and that the area was just open, and quiet. She added that there is also an area on the third floor that I could use, if needed. When it was time to get ready for my meeting, I called the front desk to find out the exact location of the 3rd floor business area. A male answered and said that it was only on the first floor. I asked how to find it once I'm on the ground floor. He said to go to the elevator, then to the first floor, and look for the library. About 50 people were waiting for the elevator, and I was late getting started by the time I finally made it back to the ground floor and to the library. I wound up having to take the escalator because the elevator line was too crowded. I'm doing all this running around the hotel on a wild goose chase, carrying a heavy backpack and wearing heels. I was infuriated and panicking because even though I had planned this in advance, I had to change plans at the last minute. Couldn't get to an outlet in the business area, so had to use the computer in there instead of my laptop. What a mess! Had to do the entire meeting with no camera, and with a jackass yelling and laughing loudly on her phone in the background. I do not recommend this hotel, mostly due to the conflicting information given about the business area, and how the area isn't businesslike. And $45 to park inside the garage for anything over three hours? What a ripoff. I'm only giving two stars instead of one because the conference venue on the second floor was nice, and the food served during the conference was excellent. read more

This is a beautiful hotel aesthetic wise, but there were some things that did NOT sit too well with me. First off were the elevators. I don't know what company built them, or if they are just old, but no one and I mean NO ONE should EVER have to wait 10-15 minutes (not exaggerating at all!) for a freaking elevator! The fact that there were at least five elevators and they were ALL SLOW, pissed me off the entire weekend! Secondly, the bed in my room was terrible! The pillows were comfy, but the bed itself was uncomfortable. I had to take a Tylenol pm just to fall asleep, otherwise I would still be up! It wasn't soft at all, and usually hotels have memory foam mattress toppers.....this one didn't. And what's up with not having toothpaste in the bathroom? Now normally I bring my own, but I forgot to bring some so I assumed I could get some from the hotel...negative! So I had to leave out to get some......which leaves me to my third point.....the parking!!!! As much as it costs to stay here parking should be VALIDATED! I literally spent $46 x3 while parking in that garage, and $15 x2 the couple of times I had to leave out and come back. The method in how you pay, and how to get in and out of the garage was time consuming. You had to dial a number to get the gate to open, then they send you a bill via text. I spent more money on parking this weekend than I spent on anything else! I gave this property three stars because of how pretty it is on the inside, but if the aesthetics were not great, I would probably give less stars..... And I almost forgot.....The handle in the shower to turn the water on in the shower literally came off once I tried to turn the water on! I had to play maintenance woman to get it back on! Why it was loose in the first place I haven't the slightest clue, but an expensive hotel as the Hyatt Regency nothing should be falling off and apart like that. I would recommend this place, but proceed with caution....park on the street if it's free, otherwise have a separate account with money in it for parking. read more

5 for location. Nice fitness center and clean. 1. Water temp for showers was luke warm at best. Never really got hot. 2. 15 dollars a Miller Lite at hotel bar. I get it is downtown but come on. 2 really good bartenders made up for the over prices drinks. 3. Fire alarm went off at 3:50 AM scaring the crap out of everyone. Loud siren and a voice in our room say "Evacuate" Things calmed down and everyone went back in then 20 minutes later it went off again. Ruined our night as we could not sleep after that. read more

Massive hotel resort connected to the convention which we were there for a tournament so this was perfect. They have several shops and restaurants on site and in the nearby downtown area. Parking was a whopping without valet $50 and they offered valet which was a higher price. Self was automatically billed to my room but most times there lot was full and hard to find parking and all the staff would recommend was to valet such a huge turn off. The lobby's were very nice, I would reconsider going here if they fixed their parking situation. Downtown Indy is a pretty cool town. read more

Love the convenience of being connected to Circle Center Mall! Stayed at this hotel while in town for business during the frigid winter storm of 2022. It was SO nice to be able to "get out" without going outside since this hotel is connected to stores via indoor walkways. The room could use a little updating but it wasn't bad at all. I didn't use the gym, but it looked good. The front desk staff was very nice and welcoming, and that was much appreciated while being away from home. If you're in the area and looking for a place to stay, give this hotel a try! read more

It's a nice place. Rooms can use an upgrade. I stayed for five days during a sold out weekend and our heater did not work. They provided me with a space heater but for the price I paid, this shouldn't have been an issue. Staff was nice enough, definitely did not have any sense or urgency. We were visiting town for Indiana Comic Con and I was wanting to take advantage of being able to stay somewhere close by. Luckily, the Hyatt is connected to the convention center and had a special rate going on! This hotel is absolutely stunning. Most of my hotel stays involve Holiday Inns/the equivalent with my rewards points, so this felt like a major upgrade for me. There is practically a mini-mall inside the lobby as well. Subway, Starbucks, gift shops, full-service restaurants... You can take the indoor walkways to the mall, too. Many, many bars and restaurants within walking distance! Our room was really lovely. Beautiful view of downtown Indy, big, spacious bathroom and cozy beds. I suggest downloading their app, that way you can check in and check out on your phone and not even have to visit the front desk once. This place is awesome! read more

I was very happy with this hotel choice. I looked at a dozen options around the downtown area and settled on this one, and I'm glad. The room was nice, the only thing it needed was some artwork on the empty walls. Such a simple thing to add would have made it a little less plain. The bed was comfortable, the shower was excellent, and I like the fact that it had a refrigerator. The layout was unique, as you looked out at the nice view (I was on the top 20th floor) from your bed. They offered a texting service and often times I've seen hotels do this but the text never gets a response. They responded within minutes and soon after a knock at my door with extra towel delivery. They have a pool and fitness room. Apparently they used to have a jacuzzi tub (check out youtube videos of the property) but now i found it only to be filled with dirt and plants. lol. Other than finding a broken ice machine on my floor, everything else worked great. All the staff were super friendly and I was able to check out using the World of Hyatt app in the morning. The lobby bar served up some great drinks, too. My convention was at the JW Marriott, but it was sold out so I stayed here. Even though it wasn't that cold, I was able to walk all the way there without even going outside through the interconnecting convention center and downtown hotels. That's awesome. When I come back to Indy, I'll definitely stay here. read more

Stayed at this Hyatt for New Years Eve package, 12/31/2023. Worst mistake ever. Hotel room was terrible...heating did not work properly, bathroom sink didn't drain, and had no hot water. Tried calling the front desk as well as housekeeping but didn't get answer or response. Additionally, the bar had only one person attending the entire night ( New Year's Eve!?!!!), and to top it off, not all of the elevators were working so there was very long wait times for an elevator. Upon check out, the staff was apologetic but could only offer us a free breakfast or coffee at the hotel Starbucks. Over the years I have stayed at many Hyatts around the country and world and NEVER experienced a stay as bad as this was. Gives Hyatt Regency a bad name and certainly keeps me from coming back. The hotel is very large and clean ! In the heart of the city. You can walk everywhere. They are connected to the skymall .Customer service top notch. We also encountered Cesar in the hotel restaurant where they serve brunch. He went above and beyond to keep us to dine there on our way out ! While we had a nice, clean corner room that was spacious and comfortable. The water in the shower did not get very hot, and we had to listen to singing pipes when others used their water. Positive part of stay, we were able to check in early as we had a 330 dinner reservation. There was a HS even in town so the room rate was overpriced. read more

My stay was ok but I didn't even know they had a restaurant for breakfast until my checkout. Front Desk didn't do a through job in informing me of all they offered at this location. I flew in for the Indy 500 & some other business. On another note: there was an unprofessional Taxi driver,Baba Taxi who refused to take me to Military base Ft. Benjamin Harrison after he said he would. Hyatt concierge called a Taxi friendlier take me. I don't why Baba Taxi would refuse a fare. This was my experience. I was shocked the Hyatt would have such an unprofessional demeanor to drive their guest. I may stay at the Marriott Hotel next time I'm in town. read more

With Indianapolis having a lot of hotel options you would think they all would be barreling for business. I was very unhappy with the shower having hair everywhere (sorry hair is my Pet peeve). With this hotel being pricey I expected better. The pool is ultimately what took my review down to a 2. It wasn't clean and the hot tub needed to be refilled smh! And it also didn't work. Seems like when I travel for business, we always seem to get put in Hyatt Regency hotels. While the staff was very friendly, the stay was a bit lacking. I did request and early check-in when I booked, since I knew I would be well ahead of posted check-in time. Was told there would be no issue. While I was checked in early, the type of room I booked (king Capital view) was apparently not available, so I was given a ready room (double standard). I was by myself so the bed didn't matter to me much, but I had an upgraded room and didn't get it. Tried to go down to the lounge for lunch, apparently were only serving drinks (although the hotel communication state lunch would be available). Bed and pillows were terribly uncomfortable. I tried everything to make that better to no avail. Workout room was nice, but kept at a warmer temperature than I would have in a gym area. Pool was out of service while I was there (it apparently had turned more into a spa than a pool). Overall, worked for a couple days, wouldn't do an extended stay here. read more

Came here for work one night. Parking is valet only or find parking somewhere else. The driveway is a little narrow and gets backed up with people just doing drop offs or checking in only and moving their car later. I went to the front desk and no one was there for several minutes. I saw a cleaning lady and asked her if she could get anyone for me. She barely spoke english but still tried to help me. She basically just told me to wait at the front desk and someone will eventually show up. Eventually someone did but I'm shocked that there is a time when no one is at the front desk, I've never seen a front desk abandoned before, even at crazy hours in the morning/night, but here I am trying to check in at 6pm and no one is there? Wild.... The room itself was nice and clean albeit a little small. Overall my experience was just ok. Great location though, lots of fun stuff in downtown Indy that is walking distance. Lots of scooters around outside to get you there a little quicker as well. read more

Bed Bugs Recently stayed for a convention. I found a bed bug crawling on the pillow of one of the beds before we had fully settled into the room. One of the nicest hotels I have stayed at. Super clean whole hotel wise and room wise.. Front desk staff were so friendly and helpful. The room was great only complaint (which is super minor) is there is no microwave in the room so I could reheat my leftovers. Staff throughout the hotel were very friendly and helpful as well. They do have normal parking under the hotel $37 a day just for reference. I can't express how impressed I was. Also it's right downtown so super close to tons of restaurants and night life. First impression? When you walk into the lobby you are stunned by the beauty of the Hyatt. It has a huge open air atrium and the hotel floors rise up majesticaly over you. You can see the walkways that snake out to the mall, the adjacent hotels and the Convention Center. You can see the glass elevators as they rise majestically to their skyward destinations. It really is a striking sight to see. Check in was easy- and the desk attendant asked if I was a Hyatt member, and I wasn't. So she signed me up and an instant perk was free wifi for 5 miutes of questions- not a bad deal at all. While checking in, I saw a bank of computer terminals for customers to use - good for boarding pass printing. My hotel room was very spacious- most definitely one of the larger chain rooms I've seen. It had an interesting design too -with an angled wall for the flatscreen and work station. The bed was very comfortable. The alarm clock had an mp3 plug so you could fill the room with selections from your iPod. There is a small alcove in the middle of the room with a mini-fridge and a Starbucks coffee maker. I didn't see a mini-bar, but since I never use them it was no great loss for me. The bathroom was very comfortable- and this is a big deal because so many chain bathrooms are petite, i remember one where I could barely close the door without smacking it into the toilet. This room was plenty big. The shower had that Herculite glass construction, and the water temp and pressure were fine. One picky thing - the bottom of the shower door leaked a little onto the floor. Not once, but every time. I asked for a late checkout on Wednesday and that was no problem everyone I dealt with here was pleasant and professional. read more

Stayed here during Indy Pop Con. This hotel has been around for a very, very long time. Check in was fantastic. Our room, was great looking. Until we discovered right before we went to sleep that our room had bedbugs. Bed bugs folks. Had to have all of our clothes cleaned and sanitized. Had to wait till 2PM the next day to get all of our belongings back. We were only comped for one of the nights we stayed but front desk refused to comp us for the second. I was here for business purposes at Pop Con and had a meeting the next morning. We were up till 4AM getting our new room and stuff situated yet the Hyatt insisted on keeping some of our money even though our room was infested. The cleaning service was spot on and took care of our clothes and items. However we were promised a full refund of our hotel room for both nights and it would be comped and it was not. Not sure if I would stay here again. Also, no signs at all for anything in the hotel. Had to search everywhere for a restroom in the hotel lobby which for some reason they have it tucked away in a corner that you'd least expect with no signage whatsoever pointing you in the direction of its location. The staff was friendly and understanding of our situation however I deeply believe that we should've had both nights comped due to losing sleep and for our time and trouble. Being a Hyatt Rewards member, I was able to redeem enough points to have a free one night stay only paying the valet charges. Planned on staying over night in Indy after spending the day brunching, day drinking cocktails, visiting breweries and attending a show at Old National Centre. Started my 24 hour crash of Indy in the fountain square area and worked my way downtown toward the afternoon when check-in was available. Pulled up to the valet area, checked in at the front desk and received some details about the hotel it's access to the convention center and easy access to the Arts Garden. Then went ALL THE WAY UP, to the 20th floor to our corner room with a view. Some observations; - the lighting in the room sucked. I had to hit the hanging light for it to turn on. - with all the lights on, still needed to rely on natural light from outside to illuminate the nook area with closet, fridge, coffee maker. - didn't really use any service, retail, dinning options at the hotel - I've experienced better setups at a Hyatt Place level in another city - easy access in/out of the city from the highway read more

Not nearly as good as my stay earlier in the month. Two queen beds fortunately, because one had stains all over the sheets. Some red, some clear. It was a late check in and the other bed was clean so I went to sleep in it. I've enjoyed the breakfast buffet before but it wasn't operating on this day (Wednesday) so off the menu only. Three other tables with guests. I got the wrong omelette and had to ask different people multiple times for a bill. I had a ride to catch! The restaurant is freezing cold for some reason. My food was literally cold before I could eat it all. Usually a solid hotel but not today :( read more

We arrived after a very long drive to discover valet parking was rather expensive ($48 per night), but were delighted when they waived the charge because we were using points to stay there. The check-in staff was excellent and friendly. The room was large and clean. Clean is very important to me during the pandemic. There is a Starbucks available and a wonderful rooftop restaurant. Still coming to this hotel several times a year. Since my last visit, they've updated the decor in the lobby... And I love it. It's got a splash of color... A dash of height, and a mix of texture that helps tremendously. The rooms haven't been updated since my last visit, but they probably don't need to be. While clean, comfortable and attractive, the rooms are still a bit drab and soporific. Indy being a big convention city, the Hyatt was slacking on their room turnover after Black Expo this past weekend. They weren't prepared for our event room-wise. I got a key for my room only to open the door and find it trashed. Then I had to wait a full hour--probably longer, to get it cleaned. Several members of our group had to wait, too. And these weren't morning check-ins. That said, it's still a pretty decent hotel space and service wise. And you can't beat the location in the heart of downtown. read more

My husband was there for a trade show and I was along for the ride. I really wanted to stay somewhere with a suit but I don't know, we got a good deal on this place through the show so we picked Hyatt. We loved it. From the moment I stepped out of my car at the valet I had all the help I needed. My husband arrived first and the kids and I drove there. They grabbed all my luggage and even my kids and let them ride on the cart! We had a 2 bed room, the room was clean and beds were comfortable. Yes, this place is expensive meaning valet and no free breakfast and what not, but what do you expect? I loved that their's a Starbucks in the building :) and the employee's there were so amazing, they gave my kids free cake pops and cookies and even an apple! I mean you can't beat that kind of service. There's plenty of restaurants around but there's a Subway in the building as well if you want something really quick and cheap. I love that everything is within walking distance from here. My husband didn't even go outside for 3 days because he got there from the airport and walked to the convention center and to Lucas Stadium all through the skyway. Beware of this hotel!!!! Two days ago around 4 am, their "director of rooms", Michael Berland, made his way into my room. Luckily I had my security latch on the door and was awake at the time but I can't imagine what would have happened if he came in while I was sleeping! My coworkers and I confronted the man in the lobby, and his explanation was "I was checking the locks" but why he can't explain why he did it at 4am when he should know the room is occupied. He didn't even bother to apologize but gave me his card and admitted what he did. I felt like my privacy was violated and will be reporting this to Hyatt corporate. read more

I was here for a weekend conference in January, one where temperatures hovered somewhere between Ice Station Zebra and the surface of Mars. So I​ and the other attendees weren't too keen on leaving the premises, instead of ​staying put. Overall, a good choice for a mid-level meeting. The front desk staff was accommodating and eager to please. The room was clean and nice. The conference rooms and the staff were all fine. Oh, and the place had FREE WIFI. Are you listening, Hilton? My only real strike with the place has to do with the architect. This place was built during the faddish days of combining business spaces such as offices and hotels, so the look is getting really long in the tooth. Lots of wasted space and convoluted navigating to get to any destination. So one does not have to play Dr. Zhivago and go outside, there are a lot of corridors that lead elsewhere in the downtown area, such as the mall and other venues. But the signage is next to non-existent, giving the entire network of tunnels, bridges, and corridors the feeling of a gigantic Habitrails. Also, the aforementioned corridors, et al, were cold. As in unheated. And there were non-functioning escalators. Less a problem for me, but there were people in our party with mobility issues. If you have ever read a few of my previous hotel reviews, you'll know I'm a Marriott fan through and through. However, my friend wanted to visit some people up in Indy and she had a free night to use at Hyatt so off we went. One very important recommendation I have is to not valet park if you don't need your car. I actually understand why valet can be expensive for downtown hotels, but $45/overnight to park in the same garage that you can park the car yourself in for a 1/3 of that price is absolutely ridiculous. I feel bad for the valets because, being a convention hotel, I can't see how many cars actually valet. It must be an annoying job to have people scoff at the price frequently and go around the corner to park. My friend and I went up the elevator to the shared atrium and lobby. I love the set up of the lobby and PNC tower, with many of their offices look straight into the building. I'm not sure I'd like it if I worked in one of those cubicles, but that's a problem I'm probably not going to come across. Dalton at the lobby was very welcoming and helpful. He was able to quickly switch us to a two queen room as requested, and was also able to get us a monument view! The elevators take you up while you get an overlook view of the lobby. Our room was as expected for a convention hotel. It was clean and well equipped with the necessities for an overnight stay. The beds were doubles which would suck if there were 4 people in the room. However, they were comfortable and the perfect place to crash after bar hopping. I absolutely love the location of the Hyatt. They're connected to the skywalk that hooks up the convention center and Circle Centre mall. There's also a ridiculous amount of restaurants and bars around that aren't hooked up through the skywalk. Unless your reason for coming to Indy isn't downtown, there's absolutely no reason to leave the 5 block radius around the Hyatt. While I may be a Marriott girl, if you asked me to stay at the Hyatt Indianapolis again I wouldn't say no. It was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located. Who would think there is so much to do in downtown Indy? Turns out there are plenty of places to eat and shop, all within walking distance of the Hyatt. This is a really big hotel... it's been refurbished and is very stylish. I'm not sure how many rooms the hotel has, but it caters to a lot of convention business. Here's my one HUGE negative... I could not connect to the internet... the signal wasn't strong enough and I continued to get a UNABLE TO CONNECT message. The hotel could not resolve this issue and considering who this property is catering to, its a big downside. read more
