It's quite amazing to see in recent years the kinds of designs that have overtaken the 3 star property range. With initial entrance into the market of hotels like Aloft and Element changed a lot of things. The aging Residence Inns, depressing looking Hyatt Place and House hotels have started to turn into something that you don't have to cringe when entering. This property is very well located in the shopping area that's been developed over recent years. The beach access to Santa Rosa or the state park is a short 10 min drive away. The property looks fresh for good reasons, it is very newly built. It shows some cool art and just generally a pleasure to stay in within the 3 star hotel range. The staff were compliant on the mask policies during Covid times. The area that is somewhat disappointing is a the pool area. Very cramped, small, poorly isolated from the surrounding parking lots, very little greenery. Not a particularly good place to spend time. The furniture there also looked extremely cheap and uncomfortable. Parking is free. Overall this is an excellent Hyatt Place and without a doubt the best one from the brand that I've stayed in. read more

We came here over Memorial Day weekend and the place was taking all the precautions for COVID. Staff was wearing masks, the breakfast was pre-packaged, so no hot foods (you could still pick out your own food) and there was a one party per ride on the elevators. Staff was constantly cleaning and there was no room service. The location was nice near some shops and the structure is new. You are not going to walk or bike to the beach or anything like that, but you are close enough and nicely situated between where 30A starts and the Destin attractions. The rooms are modern and nicely furnished, very spacious with a separate living room area and the pool area is nice...small but nice. A good value for sure! read more

We stayed in a two queen bed with pull-out couch. Perfect for 4 or more. More spacious than the pictures show. Mini fridge in room. Plenty of storage. Complementary breakfast had a different spread each day (4 mornings) we were there. Beds were comfortable. Pillows need help. Lol. They went flat real fast. Always smelled freshly cleaned. I'm surprised that this hotel wasn't already listed but, I'm happy to be the first to review! I would assume this hotel is new.. when we booked we found the hotel through hotels.com. We decided to come to Destin, FL for the weekend of my birthday and because my birthday is in the middle of hurricane season, we wanted to book somewhere that had a forgiving cancellation policy. Also with only being here for the weekend Friday - Sunday, a Condo didn't make logical sense. On to the review: this hotel was very clean, spacious, and the staff was friendly as well. Our favorite thing hands down was the full breakfast. Because we signed up to be Hyatt reward members, we received free breakfast both mornings....& this wasn't your average continental breakfast. There was everything from pancakes, to bacon and sausage, to hash-brown casserole, to fruit - the good fruit too... strawberries, blueberries, bananas, etc... The only reason that I didn't give 5 stars is because we were told that pool was heated and it wasn't..bummer. This wouldn't have been an issue but, we got in the pool at night. Also, I rated the price as moderate and I probably could've rated as pricey but, it's Destin and EVERYTHING is pricy. This was the best hotel option with an ok price that wasn't a two star hotel. It's not far from anything... there was a public beach entrance about 4 miles away (10 minute drive)..& everything else that we did was only about 10 miles away (about 20-25 min drives with traffic). If you're in Destin, check them out! Oh!!! Also, I didn't realize that this hotel wasn't on Yelp until we were about to checkout so, don't judge our room pics. read more

We stayed for 4 nights here. It's away from Destins Traffic however you have to drive though to get on to Destin but not too far if you leave early AM. Pool and amenities very clean and staff very nice! No daily cleaning due to COVID in room. Had to call down for towels and take out our own trash which is a minor inconvenience. Remotes were sanitized. Free breakfast and coffee. Hot egg and ham English muffin sandwiches wrapped and ready. Close to shops and Baytowne Warf Village which was fun for our kids! Best hotel experience I've had so far! Clean, beautiful, and spacious rooms with nice amenities. Soft sheets and good pillows. Friendly and generous staff that are very helpful. It was a poor experience staying at this hotel Hyatt since day one had trouble checking in and didn't have the room I had recently gotten ended up getting a different room due to no availability when it was 2 weeks prior that I had purchase the room and not even that offering "laundry" isn't always available you have to wait until the guest is ready to pick up their clothes could be waiting 1 or 2 day for the laundry to be available and the fact that your paying a good amount of money and "Front desk" can't do anything about it or find a solution towards things. And I have a 13hr drive and have to take all my wet clothes from the beach with me all because "Front Desk" couldn't find a solution. I don't recommend staying here at all if you don't wanna deal with these problems while you are in vacation. never staying here again for sure. read more

First the good things: hotel is nice and the staff, while English challenged, was very friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and spacious. Now the other: the bed was medium to soft and my back forced me to sleep on the couch. The breakfast was sad (yes it's included in the rate). Hard scrambled eggs every day put in a cast iron pot to keep them warm but they were really dried out. The turkey sausage was hard as a hockey puck as well. Hate to say it but LaQuinta's breakfast was better. Go here for the ambience and the staff, head to Maple Street Biscuit for breakfast. read more

Stayed here over the weekend in celebration of my 10 year marriage anniversary. The staff here was very welcoming and accommodating and the rooms were very clean. I felt very comfortable sleeping at night and the shower felt so nice and hot! The pool area was nice and clean and there was always clean towels. I didn't feel much a warm temp and didn't ask for help because we didn't get in the pool. Breakfast was served every morning for free and the area was always clean. I love how there's sanitizing station literally everywhere even in the elevators. The commute to the beach is about a good 3 miles which isn't bad. We really enjoyed our stay and will definitely visit again. read more

We had the recent pleasure of staying at the nearly brand new Hyatt Place Sandestin, in Destin, on Miramar Beach, Florida. Yeah, I felt the same way, wondering how it could be in three cities at once, but the place is immaculate, so I stopped wasting mental energy trying to puzzle it out and went straight to enjoying my time there. The hotel is less than a year old, and has been taken care of. It looks like they just opened the doors the weekend before we arrived. The rooms are spotless, the linens are clean, pressed and all smelled delightfully fresh, and the beds just grab hold of you and cradle you into one of the best night's sleep you've had at any hotel, at any price point. As shiny and clean as the hotel is, the staff is where the place really shines. Everyone we met was friendly, courteous and ready to help in any way possible. I went down first thing in the morning to grab a cup of coffee. I filled my to go cup with piping hot Seattle's Best, some Half n Half, and reached for the sugar. But the sugar was gone. I guess I wasn't as early as I thought I was. I asked the hostess if they had more sugar, and she jumped at the chance to help. She couldn't find any, and it appeared that they were out until the next shipment. The front desk clerk saw what was going on and called housekeeping to bring some of the condiment packages they normally leave in the rooms. These have a couple of packs of sugar, so she was going to have them bring a few down. (I have a bit of a sweet tooth). The manager, Megan, joined in and after a couple of minutes, located the astray box of sugar packets. I've been at hotels where the sugar had run out and have received different reactions from the staff. Usually there's an apology and explanation that there will be more sugar when the next shipment arrives. (I hope my coffee stays hot while I wait). But the staff at Hyatt Place took it to the next level. Not only did they continue looking for (and found) sugar packets, they also came up with an alternative solution in case they couldn't find any. I was able to sweeten up my coffee without having to visit the local drugstore to buy my own sugar. Now that's a winning team. The hotel is smack dab in the middle of all the awesome things you're coming to Destin for. Restaurants (Emerill has a restaurant next door), shopping, and, of course, the greatest beaches in North America. If you have a pet, they do welcome them, but there is a pet fee. So be sure to let them know you're bringing your furry friend so they can take care of that. All in all, we were very impressed with the Hyatt Place Sandestin, and will make this our exclusive hotel every time we visit Destin, Florida. read more

In the area celebrating my daughter's birthday and we stayed at this hotel. Customer service was top tier from checking in to the house keeping employees, everyone made us feel welcomed during our stay. The hotel was well kept as far as cleanliness! The pool was nice, breakfast was good and fresh everyday and the bathrooms on the first floor were very clean. Pet friendly hotel and I barely heard any during my visit even though I saw them and we brought our pet as well. Happy hour was from 5-7PM that was nice. The Hyatt Place celebrated its one year anniversary during the time I stayed there. Their communication with me started with a text from Akia(guest services) about an hour before I arrived to welcome me and to let me know that my room was ready. I then knew that my stay would be off to a great start! The lobby was tastefully and elegantly decorated for the holidays. Their overall design was modern and I was impressed with their accent pieces that featured the paintings of local artists. I was pleased with my check-in, with Lindsay making sure that I got situated in my room before the actual check-in time. When I arrived in my room, I felt relaxed after my drive. It was spacious, and clean and it was clear that their housekeeping staff paid attention to the details. There was a dining table with four chairs, and a cozy seating area with a couch and two armchairs. One thing I noticed was that there wasn't a work desk and there was lack of power outlets that was a must for business travelers. I had to use the dining table as my work desk but there wasn't any outlet available to plug in my computer and there were no convenient phone chargers as well. I went downstairs to request for a power strip and they gladly provided me with one and apologized for the inconvenience. As I was settling in, I got another text from Akia to ask me if I needed anything else. I thought that was awesome that she immediately followed up with me. I told her about the power outlet situation and she said she'll make a note of it and share the information with management. She also let me know that I was invited to a celebration with cake and champagne scheduled at the lobby from 6-7pm and reminded me about breakfast in the morning. I missed this anniversary celebration due to a business meeting but they still offered me champagne when I got back after 7pm. I made it a point to get breakfast the next day and it was one of the best complimentary breakfasts I've had in a hotel. They served cage free eggs, organic veggies and fruit and they had a good selection of teas and fresh juices at their juice bar. And yes, good coffee too and hot chocolate. No paper/styrofoam plates and utensils here, just real and elegant flatware, plates and funky glass cups. Next time I'm in the area, I'll definitely stay here again. Not to forget that in winter, their rates are very reasonable! read more

i am looking for a refund for a room i never used. i booked this trip to help my mom. my father had a surgery planned at 6am on the 3/11/20 and they live a couple of hours away. i booked the room for the evening of 3/10/20. because of covid-19, the procedure was postponed. as soon as i found out i called the hotel and asked for a cancellation, they told me to contact hotels.com. i tried to call hotels.com, they took my number and said they would call me back. then their phone number was down. i attempted to send a message on facebook. no response. i attempted to contact hotels.com live chat. i left the tab open on my computer for 6 hours. no response. over a week later i finally was able to get a hold of someone on the phone for hotels.com. they said they contacted the hyatt and an they would issue a refund. 6 weeks later still no refund. hotels.com took my my number again and said they'd call back. nope. i called the hotel they said i'd have to go through hotels.com. it has been a nightmare and i have spent too many hours trying to resolve a simple refund issue for a cancellation due to a medical issue being postponed during such unprecedented times. read more

It was our first stay here, and we loved it. It was clean and beautiful. The entire staff was professional no friendly. Parking was easy. The elevators were quick. Breakfast was not fancy, but we found it filling and fresh. We loved being able to walk to the movies, restaurants and shopping. read more

The good? Clean up to date rooms. The front desk guy literally fell all over himself to make you feel welcomed. Unfortunately he has to make up for a lot (below). The negative? 1 - Room service that you have to come down and pick up, even though it is displayed that you can order food in your room 2- Out of everything. On a Thursday night they didn't have major items on the menu like the Cuban sandwich 3 - The food is concession stand quality or worse. I realize this is a hotel, but $11 for pepperoni pizza that tastes like frozen cardboard. $11 for charcuterie that had 3 small pieces of toast corners and a 4 slices of salami and prosciutto! 4 - They have a pantry but there is barely anything in the pantry. Take a hint from other hotels like Hampton Inn, they have chips, soda,, sweets, etc. 5 - The food area was dirty with plates and empty glasses sitting all over the bar. Half empty popcorn bowls with used napkins torn up in them. I know it is off season but they really need to try harder. I would come back and stay, just better options around. read more

Room had a giant vomit stain on the carpet right near the bed and absolutely reeked of vomit upon arrival. Front desk had someone "clean" the carpet vomit/stain after I went downstairs to bring up the issue TWICE which did not help at all. We could not switch rooms since hotel was fully booked. So we were forced to spray our own perfume on the smell and try to endure the stench for the night. Definitely would've expected something more cleanly ESPECIALLY with covid measures. Hotel only offered a 10% discount on a $300+ A night Room. read more
