NASTY, MOLD, ROACHES! Every bad review is true! Please don't stay here. Paid in full, lost every penny and almost went to jail when the owner LET MY PUG OUT IN THE PARKING LOT ALONE!! Our AC was out when we got in the room, we called to the front and they said the maintenance man would come the next morning. It was July 4th weekend, HOT. We went to wm and bought a fan, got in the shower (me, hubs, pug) and literally laid in the bed soaking wet! We left super early for bfast bc my hubs is T1D and needed food. We left the pug in the floor with the fan. Gone maybe 20 mins, pulled back in and this bitch let our dog out!!! I ran for her neck, she ran. Hubs grabbed the dog and threw out bags in the back of the truck. We went to the la Quinta. Owner refused refund for the weekend. I didn't want to stay anyway bc there was black mold in the bathroom on the walls and the commode base was black and pissy!! She is the meanest woman and doesn't care about anything. Did not even have an experience because the woman (owner??) was extremely rude and downright hostile from the moment I walked in to secure a room. She obviously didn't want or need our business, because she was so ugly that I would not have stayed there if I was on fire and she had water! My daughter witnessed how rude she was through the phone and said, "Where ARE you?" I walked into the lobby from the side door (apparently not her door of choice) and that really set her off. After she berated me, I said I will walk right back out that same door I came in and I left. She and her pissy personality can keep themselves company. Advise anyone looking for an ounce of courtesy to never darken the doors of this place. read more

This little hidden jewel is a few steps from the beach and a few steps into nostalgia! It reminds me of motor courts you find along Route 66! Built in 1949 it must have been state of the art. Now it's a trip down memory lane! There have been additions and changes over the years but the owner, Bronwen, has done her best to preserve the charm of this special place! You'll not find anything like it along the gulf anymore! Each room is decorated with a theme. Some rooms are small but you'll only be sleeping in there so it's fine! There are larger rooms with two beds, but if you're not at the beach, pool or hot tub you'll be enjoying a glass of wine or mimosa with the owner and other guests! There's a home like atmosphere and you'll leave with new friends! (Mimosas at noon, wine at 5!) No children but pets are welcome for a fraction of what other places (who allow them) charge or boarding! I've stayed there several times and will be back! As long as you understand you're going to a place built in 1949, and you appreciate the quaintness and nostalgia you will love this place! Nice little place right on the beach, fair price considering we had our chihuahuas with us! Very well landscaped, room was nice, common areas very nice. The only downside was the room was bit small, and the AC was a wall unit that had been turned off so the room was hot for a few hours. I would stay here again! read more

The Wisteria Inn is the most charming hidden gem in Laguna Beach! If I had to describe it in one word, it would be quaint! The rooms are spotless and the beds are super comfortable. Each room is decorated in a distinctive charming manner, down to the smallest of details. Unlike the mass produced generic art in the high rise hotels, the Wisteria Inn, offers incomparable unique taste. I also loved the pool / jacuzzi seating area. It's overlooking a winding Koi pond that runs the length of the property. However, the crowning jewel of the Wisteria Inn, is the atmosphere the owner cultivates. Everyday, free cocktails are provided by the pool. At noon, mimosas are served and wine is offered around 5pm. The owner does this to bring guests together in a social fashion, setting the stage for strangers to become acquaintances, and acquaintances to become friends. Yet still, I saved one of the best parts for last! Pets are welcome, children (under 16) are not! Think peaceful calming environment meets social hour for us grown folk! It's nothing against children, but as a 35 year old single, a kids free zone is blissfully welcome. No running, screaming, splashing cannonballs is an added bonus! Haha It's like a 30 foot walk to the beach. I felt so safe and comfortable that I actually left my room unlocked about 80% of the time. Classic old motel building now turned into an Inn. A wall shrouds the building for privacy and security and myriad foliage adorn the swimming pool. I had always fancied staying here, it is right on the beach and in a quiet section West of the action. We showed up as a walk in quite late and Bronwen and her son Adrian greeted us. We were allocated the African Room in all its leopard skin glory,($130) had a splosh in the hot tub which was great, hotter than molten lava....F&B supplies can be got from the Carousel down the road and if you are nice then Bronwen might LEND you her flamingo plastic glasses. Room smelled and looked clean but after several incidents that caused us to leave the owner refused to give us even a partial refund .the air conditioner in window sounded like a jet plane and several large 5 inch bugs in our room crawling across the bed and the final draw the 5 inch bug eating the dog food we just put down for our dogs. I lost 600 dollars for one night of no sleep . We had to keep light on. we were going to go home 5hrs away but my sister paid for an ocean front room at a different which was amazing and guess what no BUGS . Owner said all hotels have bugs its Floria guess what no they don't. read more

Upon arrival, my wife and I were excited to see what our suite would be like, but we were quickly disappointed. As a member of the U.S. Air Force, I expected there to at least be a sense of cleanliness indoors to match the what appeared to be well kept outdoor area. Within minutes of being in the room, we had already made the decision that we would have to find somewhere else. On the back of the front door is a letter that signifies an Exception to Sanitation Requirements. The room had an awful smell of mold and dust, causing our allergies to flare. After inspecting the room, pulling back the covers, and opening the blinds, we found that nothing was truly clean. The shower had water damage in the ceiling, most of the furniture had a thin layer of dust on it, the ac unit in the room was absolutely filthy, and the bed not only smelled but felt of mold. The next morning, I tried contacting her over the phone to cancel the rest of my reservation as I had only paid for one night so far (which we didn't even stay there that night). She immediately became rude, telling me that I would not be getting a refund for my cancellation. After 2 minutes of talking on the phone, explaining to her that the room was moldy and that staying there would have been a health hazard for not only ourselves, but our dog as well, she proceeded to say "Oh vomit." and hung up on me. That is where it got worse. My wife and I drove from our hotel to the Inn and went to speak to Mrs. Bronwen. We sat down with her only to be greeted with a nasty look and an immediate conflictive attitude, almost as if we were a nuisance to her. When I brought up cancelling my reservation, she claimed that she had told me that the days would be cancelled free of charge, which is NOT what she said over the phone. She then accused us saying that we had slept there that night and that we were lying about the mold and dust. It was obvious that she had become angry, which was followed by her getting up out of her chair and approaching me in my seat, not only breaking social distancing policies that she'd set herself, but almost in an intimidating manner like she wanted to tell me her piece of mind; or worse. After that, we decided to walk back to our car. Overall, this was a very unpleasant, dirty, unprofessional establishment that does not take accountability for things that they're at fault for. To anyone looking to stay here, DON'T, cause every bad review that you can find for this place is completely true. We will never recommend this place to anyone and certainly will never be staying ourselves. Side notes: 1) policies are not stated on her website as she claims, only on your confirmation email given AFTER she charges your card for deposit. 2) pricing with pet for one night was around $200, which is outrageous for the less than sub-par living arrangements. read more

My husband is enlisted in the Air Force and he is about to leave so we were looking for a nice vacation spot before he goes. It looked like a cute little spot online. Booking this place was a mistake. The whole entire room smelled of mold and the air conditioning unit (which was very small and not on before we got there) had dust all over it. We both are allergic and could not handle staying in the room. We immediately left and found another hotel but still had to pay for that first night. When my husband called to talk to the owner about canceling our stay she was extremely rude and told him that we would still be charged for the days we had booked. After telling her we couldn't even stay in the room because of our allergies she said "oh vomit" and then proceeded to hang up on him. We then had to drive all the way back over there to even have a conversation with her and to make sure she was not going to charge us for the next few days. She argued with us about the moldy smell and said there was no dust instead of just being polite. I have never had to deal with someone like this before. Never again. read more

This quaint inn is right across from the beach. Down away from all the hustle and bustle but close enough to everything you want in PC. My husband and I loved staying here for our ten ear anniversary last year. We enjoyed the beach, the pool, the hot tub, and getting to know the other guests during mimosas and wine hours. ATMOSPHERE: 5/5 My wife and I went for our anniversary last year. We loved it! The hotel was very inexpensive for the location, and was very private and cozy. It's walled-in with a gate, and has a koi pond, swimming pool, and a hot tub. The owner, Ms. Bronwen, will provide beach towels, umbrellas, and chairs (I brought my own, but she still offered). She served drinks a few times throughout the day by the pool; we really aren't social drinkers, so we politely declined. The people that were there really seemed to enjoy it though. Ms. Bronwen was interactive and made us feel very comfortable; her very affectionate cat Olivia quickly became our new best friend! The staff, as well as the guests that we met, were really respectful of one other, and we never heard anyone else's conversation in our room (usually a problem with inexpensive hotels). The Inn is beach adjacent, no kids under 16, and pet-friendly, it's great! ROOM: 4/5 The room was clean and didn't make us feel uncomfortable in the slightest (again, usually a problem with inexpensive hotels). When we book again, we're definitely booking a larger room. We booked one of the small rooms for the low price. I'm a large guy, so I was initially a little concerned about the size of the room, especially the double bed, but we chose that room size, so that's on us. Hey, it made us spend more time together, so I think it worked out fine. The room had a refrigerator, TV, and had a hair drier. Unfortunately there is no microwave in the room, but I think there is in the lobby. There is an ice machine outside, so it's perfect if you've brought a cooler and need to take drinks to the beach. We stored snacks and sandwiches in ours, and put leftover seafood in the fridge. We felt very safe and secure here, and next time, we'll even bring our dogs! PRICE: 5/5 Really inexpensive for what you're getting. Hotels, Inns, and Suites in the area for the same quality are usually double the price. You're seriously getting a good deal. OVERALL: 5/5 I love this place. We used to make the several hour-long drive to come down to Panama City Beach and enjoy the weather and the good food, but then we had to drive forever out of town to be able to afford a room. Here, you're across the street from the beach, and even though you're still technically on "the strip" it doesn't feel like it at night. It's very quiet and peaceful. I love kids, but the fact that there were no kids allowed was amazing. We maybe heard a bark or two from dogs, but that was it. Great, kind, calm atmosphere and We will come back again. I slept in my clothes and didn't shower because of the mold in the bathroom. We arrived late in the day. Stayed that night. My boyfriend and I stayed here for 3 nights with our lab recently. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone- with or without your pet. It's right on the beach, and there is also a nice pool area with lots of plants, a hot tub, and a pond with kois. The rooms are very clean and decent sized. We stayed in the south beach themed room- with nice and bright colors, and a very comfy king sized bed. Not your typical hotel mattress/ sheets. The owner of the hotel, Bronwen, is very friendly and makes sure you're totally satisfied. She also offers (free) Mimosas for lunch and wine for dinner by the pool. Overall, this was the perfect little place for our stay. The best part about it was that we got to bring our 60 lb lab. It's very hard to find a decent place close to the beach that will accept dogs. Wisteria inn exceeded our expectations by far! read more

The sweetest boutique Inn.. the Innkeeper/owner, Bronwen is wonderful! The evening wine socials and morning mimosas were memorable, entertaining and fun. My husband and I came here for a quick New Years getaway, meeting friends who have stayed here numerous times. We were not disappointed, laughed endlessly and spent time hanging out and socializing with the other guests... it was a great experience. The Inn is older, but quaint. I thought a review was to let people know another persons personal opinion. In my opinion the room and inn were misrepresented and as I see from the fact that my review was not posted on the website it's hard to judge by reviews alone...It is one thing to reply to my disappointment but another to make me seem like I'm an idiot. I've stayed in many places in and out of the country and in my opinion it was very disappointing compared to what I expected from the website...As for the spray I did not spray a "can" of anything it was Johnson & Johnson baby cologne I sprayed 3 sprays near the window air unit blowing out musty cold air in an attempt to make it livable..If the wall was painted then the paint was pealing off the concrete walls.. I was never at anytime rude or disrespectful to you. I expressed my complaint you stormed out of the room came back stated basically I was crazy for having a major headache and sneezing from the musty smell that you didn't notice probably because you are with that smell everyday. You came back handed me my money and asked us to leave... We drove 6 hrs to get there it was Memorial Day weekend as well as graduation weekend so you really think we were complaining for fun?? We didn't find a place to stay until almost midnight.. And paid twice as much as your place so money want the issue.. Nor was not having a larger TV. I brought that up as we expected a bigger TV than a 17-19 inch computer monitor... It was my opinion and I'm Sorry you disagree with it. I tolerated the rude comments you sent to my personal email. So let it go and live life.. We have moved on and were blessed with a beautiful room right on the beach. Our vacation ended up perfect to spite the start.. This was the worst hotel experience I have ever had. The owner is rude and unwilling to accept any suggestions for improvement. My room, number two, had only brown colors which is not what is expected when you go to the beach. The room was so depressing I decorated it myself while I was there. Bronwyn told me she is probably tearing it down next year and is not spending any money in the meantime. The room smelled had bugs and was very sad in general. After I complained about my room being hideous I was told to get the fuck off her property and her son said he was going to call the sheriff and have me evicted. Horrible horrible experience. This place has so much potential but the owner really became an unexpected stressor to an already stressful day. My family recently hosted my sister's wedding reception at this venue. Upon booking the owner was very accommodating and pleasant. On the day we checked in it was a different story. I strongly suggest if using this place as an event venue you get everything in writing! Upon booking we explained we would like all the rooms and available spaces, she said that would be great and even suggested we use the vestibule above the lobby as a place for the bridal party to get ready on the wedding day. On day of arrival we were informed that someone lived there and had for years and she never would have rented the space to us. We ended up getting ready in the lobby where anyone can come in at any time (and they did). Once we're done getting ready we had to rush across the street for the wedding ceremony on the beach, leaving our clothes and makeup in the lobby. Upon returning, the lobby was locked. We had to wait until the morning to retrieve our bags and clean up. It wouldn't have been a problem except the owner kept griping about how we left her lobby a mess...well I personally tried to go in and clean up and was told by her the the lobby was closed for entry and I would have to wait until morning. To add insult to injury the owner CRASHED the wedding. She invited herself and a few friends to enjoy the festivities! She took several bottles of wine from our bar and helped herself to our food and was dancing on the dance floor. I truly feel like this wouldn't have been such a big deal, but her unwillingness to be accommodating and some of the mean, spiteful comments made by her to our family really left a bad taste in mouth. I can see the draw if you are a couple having a weekend get away or stay-cation. As I said before this place a lot of potential. It's cute and charming and the pool/spa area is like an oasis. But I would NOT recommend this place as an event venue, especially for a wedding reception. read more

we happily stumbled across wisteria inn this past week on a drive thru the florida gulf coast. tired from a grueling drive, it was getting late, and we were dreading a random hotel room in PCB with out pack of 4 dogs between the 2 couples. we found wisteria inn on google, read the good reviews on yelp, left a message on the voice mail, then received a quick return call from the gracious owner. greeted by the owner, we were shown our rooms (each room 'theme' decorated - perfect a for a beach holiday), then we were invited to the poolside 'wine hour' in the lushly landscaped patio. we only stayed one night, and left early in the morning, I recommend wisteria inn to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay during a visit to PCB. the rooms and pool were all spotless, mattresses comfy and rooms spacious - and for anyone traveling with pets, they are most accommodating. look forward to visiting again. read more

I never had the chance to stay at this place due to the owner canceling our reservation.. she had an attitude, and claimed that my AmEx address did not match the one provided (which it did- I never had any issues with this card, nor has our address changed). She asked me to call AmEx, although there is no issue w this card.. I asked her if it would be ok for my partner could call her and provide another cc for our reservation, although she claimed that the transaction had gone through but was going to cancel it-- and she agreed. when my partner called she had canceled our reservation (and given the room to someone else), refused to run another cc, and we were left with nowhere to stay and everything sold out this particular weekend. My wife and I found this jewel of a place knowing we had our small dog with us and it was shown as pet friendly. When we arrived on 09/05, we booked for 3 days since we would be visiting my wife's cousins in Destin and figured we would stay there through the weekend. We checked in and Bronwen had no problem showing us a room before we decided to stay. The room was exactly what we were looking for and booked immediately. After 24 hours, we had already decided we would just stay there until Sunday as it was soooo relaxing, quiet and just what the doctor ordered. The beach was absolutely gorgeous and the water was 80 yards from our doorstep.We were given the best beach towels and beach chairs to use for FREE that I have ever had at the beach. The grounds were immaculate and to sit and relax in the courtyard was wonderful! The bed was absolutely the best bed I've ever slept in on any trip/vacation/hotel stay period! The location is great as it is on the quiet end of PCB. There is a Winn Dixie, Publix, CVS, and even a Waffle House within 3 miles but you would never know that much commercial development was that close to the Inn. We loved everything about the area, hotel, beach, pool, hot tub, grounds, etc, we will be making it our new place to stay in the pan handle. We always went to St George before, but to have this slice of heaven is absolutely a game changer for us. Bronwen has the coolest cat too, she calls him Max, I gave him the name Target as he is beautifully marked and looks like a target on both sides of his body! The owner treated my wife rudely, did not tell us the pool was green with algae, and refused to refund us. One example: While checking in my wife asked some questions & the owner would point to the paperwork and said "what did you just sign?". My 20 yo daughter was not allowed to come visit for the day. The owner has a nice place but her mean personality ruins it. Very ugly toward me when I asked for a refund and that were were leaving. We called around and checked out within the 1st hr of being there. She was going to keep 1/2 of our pmt. but I disagreed and she reluctantly refunded most of it. read more

omg this place is amazing!!!! the owner is wonderful and hangs out by the pool with her guest @ 12 is a mixed drink and @ 5 is wine and all is free to guest . the owner lives right next door to the inn and you can get her anytime if you need to. she provides beach towels umbrellas and chairs so you don't have to bring yours and to all of my gay family out there wisteria inn is a gay friendly place!!!! i will stay no where else but here i already miss it and miss the owner!!! read more
