Amazing experience staying at Hyatt House Davis ! From the moment I walked in I noticed the hotel smelled fresh and clean . The front desk staff were all very welcoming and friendly. My room was gorgeous- 1st floor has very tall ceilings which make the room feel spacious. The only minor issue was that they advertise free bikes but only had one which had flat tires . Recommend they invest in at least 4 comfort type commuter bikes that are user friendly and comfortable since Davis has so many nice bike paths . Also recommend upgrading their coffee in the dining room to something more flavorful. Overall I had a wonderful experience and will stay here again when I return to the area read more

The hotel room was very clean as well as the lobby. The hotel staff were all very friendly and welcoming. They have a complementary breakfast in the morning. They waived the parking fee because my mother is disabled, which was very kind. I think it was $12 a night in their private parking lot. There are quite a few restaurants close by but I wouldn't suggest Four Seasons Gourmet Chinese Restaurant, it was very disappointing. It's right next to the freeway so we asked to be on the backside of the building because one employee said you can hear the traffic in the morning. I recently stayed at this property during a business trip to the Davis area. The hotel is clean and modern, and my room was very spacious and comfortable. The check-in experience was sort of odd, as I had to wait over 5 minutes for the desk clerk to arrive. (In general, this place felt pretty understaffed.) The staff I met were definitely helpful and friendly, though. The wifi was strong, and the complimentary breakfast was more than adequate. It's about a 10 minute drive to downtown Davis from here. Middle of the road hotel in Davis. Stayed here for a couple of nights last week. Room was comfortable, with plenty of storage and other amenities. Downsides were road noise from being next to the I-80 freeway, and hotel noise from the barking dog next door! Parking was an extra $10 a night, and breakfast was provided (scrambled eggs, fruit, granola, oatmeal...). Will likely stay elsewhere next time I'm in town. read more

The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and well appointed, and we love the fruit and yogurt bar at breakfast. Good stay at this Hyatt spot! Staff is friendly. Had a dog with us so I paid a $75 fee. Website mentioned there was a $10/day parking fee, but I didn't end up getting charged. Hopefully stays that way with free parking. Also, parking spots are small. Wish there were more entrances to get into the hotel instead of the main one. Rooms have a good layout. Relatively new feel to them. Decent breakfast as well. When I went in early June, they did have late night construction down the street...to go to safeway there and back should have taken 10 minutes, ended up taking an hour...so just be aware. I assumed in a few years, they'll charge their guests with resort fee snd parking fee, oh wait they already did with the parking fee. This is my first time back, and will be my last. It was a great hotel! The room was huge and had two separate areas with dishes and other stuff yk yk. And then there was a great breakfast. The hotel is super nice too. Stayed the night here in Davis to run the Davis Turkey trot. I always enjoy Hyatt House locations. The rooms are huge with the living room/kitchen area. This room has a second room for the beds and bathroom so it's like a 2 apartment type of room. Located off of the freeway, parking is easy, staff are very friendly and they have a great breakfast. Since this is a college down im sure this place can get really busy, also lots of families probably stay here for soccer tournaments nearby too. read more

Pretty standard Hyatt House, on the newer side, so most things were in good shape. Best part of the stay was the staff at the front desk, always friendly and eager to help. I would definitely stay here again when I'm in the area. Other things to know: -Shower water pressure was light. -Small, but adequate gym. Life Fitness cardio equipment. Good AC in there, but still gets a little stuffy without any fans. -Located next to a freeway without much in easy walking distance. Lots of stores and restaurants within a 2-mile radius though, so either plan for a long walk or quick drive. Nugget Market was a great place to get snacks for the room, and Yang Kee Dumplings was my favorite restaurant in the area. -Free breakfast buffet -- edible, but not great. -Free parking. Landscaping was very overgrown in the lot. read more

Stayed here this last weekend and I've got to say it was easily a 5 star stay. The room was clean, the bed was comfortable and the coffee bar in the morning was a great start to my early morning. I had a migraine upon checking in and Hanna at the front desk was so nice and helpful, and went out of her way to help me and because of her by the time I was at my work event I no longer had the migraine and was able to interact happily at the event. Overall a good stay on points - new, clean and friendly staff. The breakfast was abundant for a Hyatt House and pretty well done. If you need a place for a night near UC Davis, its close enough to campus to be very convenient. My only beef with them is the $15 parking fee. In a suburb, where there is plenty of parking, there shouldn't be a parking fee. And on top of the fee, their parking lot is the mostly poorly planned ever - there are spots in the back (which no one wants to park in) and the hotel is set very far up on the property line so there are not many spaces up front. So we noticed half a dozen cars parked in the fire lane when we woke up in the morning - these being the drivers that I assume didn't want to park in the back. read more

Spent the night here with family of 4. The pull out sofa bed was the most uncomfortable and I will be catching up on my sleep tonight. Also came to Davis and bought some expensive beverages that I mistakenly left unopened and failed to retrieve. Drove 45 min back two hours after check in to retrieve and the desk items left in the room will be promptly thrown away! Yikes. Over $50 worth I'm out and tough luck to me. My son and I stayed here for a sports tournament and the property was well taken care of. The room was clean and the shower had great pressure. I always love a hotel with a kitchen in the room. We love to bring our own snacks. The bed was comfy and it was reasonably quiet considering our room bordered the freeway view. There is a free real breakfast. It's actual food and not every possible non-perishable pastry that's known to man like most places that offer "breakfast," so I always appreciate that. The only issue we had was that you have to pay to park and it's hard to find a spot if you arrive later in the evening. (I think it's $12 per night.) I'd stay here again, though. read more

Stayed here this past weekend to attend a friend's wedding nearby. It's a bit more out of the way compared to the other hotels in downtown Davis if you're planning to walk, but it's a very nice location if you've rented a car. And even with the $10 parking fee at night, it ended up a cheaper stay than most other comparable hotels in the area. Staff were all great and friendly, and the rooms were incredibly clean. Also I read a few reviews concerned about the noise, but we found our stay surprisingly quiet for a hotel near a college town. Our room was also ready ahead of schedule (even by early check-in request standards), which was a plus since we had a wedding to attend that evening. The cheapest room with a king-sized bed has a long sofa (that actually could fit a third person -- I took quite a comfortable nap on it), a TV, a mini-fridge, and a microwave. Shampoo, conditioner, shower gel, and towels were included in the bathroom but not toothbrush, toothpaste, or soap. The nightstand had a QR code to scan for room details, and it does say that the hotel could provide these toiletries free-of-charge if requested, though we didn't bother since we brought our own. The only issues were: 1.) The shower stall is poorly designed, and even with the door closed, water still managed to seep through it in pretty large quantities, even though the water pressure was fairly low! The actual bathroom itself also basically had no proper drainage, so we ended up having to just wipe up the water ourselves with a spare towel. 2.) Breakfast was mediocre when we stayed there, though fairly standard stuff for this kind of hotel. (Eggs, sausages, toast, cereal, etc.) The only reason I'm bringing it up as a negative is that the aforementioned QR code explanation states outright that the breakfast includes yogurt and waffles, which it patently did not during our stay, so some false advertising there, but not a big deal if you temper your expectations. The staff did a fairly good job keeping breakfast stocked up during its runtime, so kudos for that. 3.) Now here's the biggest issue: I read previous reviews that the hotel outlets were all on an "energy-saving" timer, where they'd turn off automatically after 30 minutes without any input. I didn't think this would be a dealbreaker, but the other reviews actually really understated how annoying and energy *in*efficient this design was. Because "turning off automatically when it doesn't sense any motion" actually means "reset the electronics to default settings anytime it thinks no one is using it" -- and this doesn't just apply to the outlets but also the AC, the digital clock, and the TV. 3a.) When we arrived, we found that the AC was tuned way too low (~63 degrees or somesuch), so we increased it 10 degrees and turned off the fan. (Turn off your AC fans, folks! It both helps increase the longevity of your AC and also saves on energy bills!) However, during the time we left for the ceremony, the AC reset itself because, lo and behold, no one touched it for 30 minutes! So when we got back, the AC was on full-blast at 63 degrees again -- a complete and total waste of energy; the exact opposite of what an energy saving measure should do! In the end, we turned off the AC completely (which thankfully was a physical toggle, not a digital one, so it couldn't reset) because we were afraid it'd suddenly reset to freezing temperatures in the middle of the night. 3b.) The first thing I noticed when we got to the room was that the clock was off by about 9 minutes. Not a huge deal, but a surprising mistake for a hotel. It was only checking it later and seeing that it was off by *several hours* at that point that I realized this digital clock was also on the bizarre "reset itself every 30 minutes" system that the other electronics was, making it absolutely impossible to keep accurate time. So don't use the hotel alarm clock during your stay, folks! 3c.) The hotel TV had a very convenient way to Chromecast what you're watching to the TV, with very clearly laid out instructions. This is a positive. The negative is that, in the middle of watching Netflix, the TV reset itself to a completely different channel with a sudden volume hike because the volume also reset. So unless you make sure to play around with the TV remote at 30-minute intervals, the TV will reset in the middle of a show you're watching, all the while giving you a sonic jumpscare! Overall, we had a nice stay, and I'd probably consider the hotel again if I ever need to come back to the area. However, the electronics resetting issue makes it difficult to recommend this hotel for longer stays (ironic because that's what it's known for), since while it was actually kind of funny to have the TV reset on me mid-baking show the first time 'round, I imagine that it might get pretty frustrating for anyone staying in these rooms for long periods of time. read more

Ok, it was a pau hana song back in the day and showing my age. Anyway, just wanted to add a few things since our last visit: They serve beer and wine. We ordered a Stella and the Bike Dog (an IPA from West Sacramento). Nice and cold, very refreshing! We will come back next time to try the other local beverages they serve. Their burger comes with two patties and a huge side of fries. We split it just to taste and it was still a lot of food. Soft bun, fresh veggies, and the 2 patties were cooked to perfection! We loved every bite of that. The bar area is immaculate. Not a speck in sight. Talk about clean and sanitary, they also have several hand sanitizer stands situated throughout the lounge area. The rooms were clean, we liked having the bar in the lobby so we could grab a glass of wine. But the HIGHLIGHT to the entire hotel was Hana! She was friendly, helpful, and made sure our stay was pleasant. I would have given 5 stars, but I had called ahead and was assured our son could grab the cold food prior to the breakfast opening (we didn't expect anything hot, just a little cereal and fruit) because we had to be on the field at 7am. When my son went down to the breakfast area, they sent him away. I get that there were rules, but I had asked and was told it was not a problem. I wouldn't have embarrassed my son like that had I known he'd be turned away. read more

If your travels should ever bring you through Davis, CA I'd say Hyatt House is a great place to spend the night. Hyatt House as a brand is pretty standard -- it's like having an apartment on the road. Rooms come with a small kitchen setup with microwave and fridge. Nice for longer stays or if you like preparing your own food. Breakfast buffet comes with the stay. This Hyatt House sets itself apart because it's new. Modern touches like art in the lobby. Most importantly, rooms are new and clean too. As a Globalist member, I got upgraded into a room with a separate bedroom and living room. Fairly compact, but the delineation between the sleeping and unwinding space was much appreciated. Staff is friendly and helpful. The breakfast is nothing to get excited about, but adequate. I would prefer to give 4.5 stars, not 4. We loved the design and aesthetic of this hotel. It was very clean and the front desk staff were warm and welcoming. Bed was very comfortable and the A/C worked wonderfully! The shower water pressure was super strong which is a plus, but it was almost too strong. When you open the glass sliding door the water literally soaks the entire floor so watch out for that and put the floor towel down. The pool was standard, towels stocked. It was refreshing for us on a hot evening. I only wanted to deduct a half a star for the continental breakfast which was soooo bleh! Nothing special or yummy in my opinion. They put out whole grain bagels and nonfat yogurt, that's just rude. Give me the unhealthy stuff. read more

My wife and I have stayed at the Hyatt House more than once. We brought our little dog. I looked at other options, including Air BnB. This is the best value, and it's convenient to downtown (a five minute drive or two mile hike). The staff is friendly. Check in was easy. The rooms have been clean and spacious. They have a little refrigerator and a small microwave. We requested quiet. They gave us something suitable. The breakfast buffet is what you would expect. We are there twice. It is included. We sat outside. The dog accompanied us. I did a ten mile run. I did that along the path behind the hotel. I believe it is part of the Davis bicycle trail system. I used the washer and dryer on the third floor ($2.25 in quarters for each machine). My wife and I visit the Davis area once a year. I expect we will stay at this facility again. read more

Omg The pictures were super deceiving the pool is super small and in the back of the hotel and the grill and patio in the pictures are actually in the front of the hotel. We really only bought this place to hang out at the pool and grill wish we would've looked at it before we booked. The only plus side I would say is the room was at least clean and the bed was comfortable. Plus the breakfast I would rate it as better than most continental breakfast that yu would get... will I ever stay here again probably not and there was no restaurant or bar as indicated on Expedia and Yelp. Pretty clean. Overall a nice layout. Spacious room, especially works if you are traveling with a fam, the room had plates. Fridge with freezer, microwave etc. However, my biggest issue are the night stands. They go all the way from the bed to the wall on both sides. The corners are sharp, and when you have a toddler that's a real concern. I rolled over and hit my arm on it, and it hurt. Can't imagine how bad it would hurt our little one. The pool was quiet when we went, not glamorous but does the trick. Goes to 5ft. Some chairs and 2 small side tables. No big umbrellas or anything. It's definitely a small area. Probably wouldn't be great if a lot of people were there, but luckily it was just the three of us. Service wise, everyone was pleasant. read more

Stayed at this hotel for one night in a 1 room suite with two queen beds. Although it being next to the freeway may scare others away, I took the risk and was pleasantly surprised. The lobby area had lots of comfortable seating options and was very clean. We decided to eat at the restaurant there and got the turkey pesto sandwich and wings. Both tasted amazing. Our hotel room was really nice, very clean and had all new appliances. The beds were comfortable. Sadly you could hear the freeway though, even on the third floor. The only other problem I had with the room is that the sliding shower doors are slightly slanted, meaning I couldn't keep it closed without it sliding to the other end. The staff here was also super nice. The free breakfast was mediocre. read more

Already loved place - love even more. My UC Davis son had an incident - turned infection & into emergency surgery. I ended up with a 20 day stay. The staff was so supportive! Absolutely fantastic. Worked with me endlessly. Plus having a kitchen was so great for extended stay. I called to ask to cancel my reservation (no cancellation rate) for next Spring booked through Expedia and they won't do it. Expedia said I should contact them directly with questions. I understand they won't because it's a no cancellation booking but the attitude & tone of the guy who answered the phone at 1:30AM didn't need to be so impatient and condescending. He started off by laughing at me when I I asked him what the difference is between booking through a 3rd party vs directly with Hyatt. He explained to me advanced booking means I'm showing up. If I won't show up, then don't do advance booking. (Wow!) He got a little better (but was still very frustrated) when I asked about cancellation & refund. I attempted to ask for a cancellation & refund because I know they can absolutely sell the room so far in advance. He sounded so irritated which made me feel there's really no point talking to him so I thanked him and hung up. I will for sure not book through Expedia and also not book to stay at this hotel in the future. After reading various Yelp reviews, I plan on bringing my pillow and earplugs too. Want to give a shoutout to the great staff at Hyatt House Davis. Everyone was super nice and attentive. We were in town for the Cirque du Soleil show and could not have selected a better place to stay, as it was only 10 mins away from downtown Sacramento. We asked for an extended checkout time and they happily granted it to us. We forgot to pack toothpaste and they gave us a free travel tube. The swimming pool was stacked with towels so you did no have to bring the ones from the room. Thanks to the manager and the wonderful staff at HHD for a great stay! read more
