Oof this was a tough one to swallow. We decided to come here to the Sunday Brunch Buffet, off of the great experiences we used to have here, but those days are gone. The days of shrimp cocktail, made to order omelet station, great desserts, and your choice of all the hot case food that you wanted are just a speck in the rear view mirror. Sure they lowered the price, but we didn't come for the price, we came came for the awesome food and wonderful service. We happily paid the $17 (or whatever it was). Now? It's not worth the $9.95, not even close. Everyone loves bacon right? Right. But they are making it like one package at a time. We're all waiting around for more bacon to be brought out and then they bring out this undercooked nonsense. That pig died in vein to be treated like as such. I don't know if we arrived at a strange time, or they were learning a new menu, but the food was not something that I would come back for. My wife ordered the lunch burger and it was seriously 1/8 lb. It was comical. $9 for that and a small portion of fries. I'll post a pic of it as soon as she sends it to me because it was hilariously sitting there, looking like the Mugsy Bouges of burgers atop Shaq's giant bun. I had the Blackened Shrimp taco. It was cold, and not blackened, or flavorful. I will say that our kids meals were very substantial, for kids meals. I was like, whoa, that's 3x as much food that the adults have for nearly half the price?! Ok. We'll order of the kids menu next time! read more

One employee was helping me while the cook was very obviously in a foul mood. She refused to answer the questions the employee asked. I had ordered pulled pork sliders and she allowed the employee to prepare the buns and only then told her they had no pulled pork. The cook then disappeared behind doors with two other employees leaving this one to struggle alone trying to make a burger and also help me. I asked for a side of steamed vegetables. I have a soy allergy that results in anaphylaxis. I explained I stop breathing and needed to know what kind of oil was used if any. The cook was very irritated with the question and said she steamed them and did not put any oil on them. I took them to go. I got back in the car to eat and they were covered in oil. I was very hungry and tried one hoping the oil was not vegetable oil which contains soybean oil. My airway started to swell so I stopped immediately and took a Benadryl and also had my epi-pens close by. DO NOT trust them to give you honest or helpful information if you have an allergy. Also the crew does not work well together and the hostility is there is palpable. Lately we got a coupon from mail and last night we had dinner over there. They are really busy !! 2 waitresses and the manager were all running !! About 10 waiting we got seat. We ordered a pasta and a salad also 2 appetizers. I have to say appetizers taste better than entrees. Service was nice consider they were so busy. Food was so so. The food here is pretty good. Service? Friendly and slooooow. It's a little strange when you walk in because you enter through the grocery store. The restaurant area is nice, clean and new looking but seems out of place to me. Let's talk the menu. They have everything from $7 sandwiches to $20+ fish or steak dishes for lunch. Dinner is pretty much the same. And if you'd like a beer or alcoholic beverage, they've got those too. What I'm trying to say is, they have an option for everyone. Their burgers are huge, salads are tasty and other warm sandwiches are good. They've also got a salad bar with tons of options. That's probably the best way to go if you're in a hurry. read more

Too much food!!! I've never seen grocery store offerings like this (buffet-style). You can pick from salad bar, Asian, American... or all of the above. I tried the salads and Asian selections (just didn't have room for any more), and it was all fresh and tasty. Server a bit inexperienced, but friendly. read more

Wife and i ate here a couple of months ago, we both worked there last year, i was the sous chef, so i know what the standards were. I had a burger, it was cooked to specification, bravo, thats where the compliments end. My fries were old, hard, and cold which knowing their standards happens, no problem. I tell one of the cooks who came out to talk to my kiddos, and she comes back with fresh fries she says she made herself. So i try them after she walks away, and they're undercooked, starchy, seriously!? My wife had the monte cristo, which was under toasted, so it was soggy. They forgot the apple jam, which is fine, i get it. But they forgot the ham, half the meat on the sandwich, and they forgot it. I actually talked to my ex coworker, now "back of house manager", and he just got defensive. I was trying to let you know to keep an eye on your guys, to try to look out for you, won't make that mistake again. read more

I waited over 45 minutes for a medium cooked patty melt. No mysteries for preparation, or so I thought. After the extended wait, (there was a large party that arrived after me, but my order was in before their arrival) I received (after the extended wait) an obviously well done patty with literally 1 raw strip of red onion on top of it with 3 slabs of cold cheese on top. The hockey puck burger was well complimented with the sweet potato fries which though the texture was very nice, the fryer oil was needing to be changed about 3000 miles ago as an odd flavor was imparted I believe by the old oil. The server was nice and when I paid she already had a "good customer discount" on the check. I assume she must have known she served me garbage and was apologetic. If offered a free meal at Hyvee or 10$ for a milkshake with a dog turd in it, I'd go with the milkshake. read more

I had the reuben sandwich last night, and it was the best I ever had. Lots of meat. Also comes with fries or coleslaw etc Started off with a glass of Surly's furious, $4 for a 16 oz. glass. They also have a great happy hour. One starts at 8:00 Pm and has 1/2 price for all taps and also for all apps. The other goes from 3-6 and has $1 off bottled beer and drinks and 1/2 price on selected apps. Very friendly staff. Next time, will try the happy hour. read more

Food is great and portions are massive. Great specials but the help are a bit under skilled. Takes a very long time to get served anything and refills you'll probably only see once so make your cherry coke last! All you can eat wings is awesome but would like to see a separate entrance for those of us coming in for happy hour, kind of a buzz kill to leave the bar (With a sober ride of course) and the first thing you see is some little tyke picking there nose and stealing grapes while there mother texts and isn't paying attention. Today my family decided to go to the Hy-Vee Market Café for lunch, we were seated and our order taken immediately. We waited over 30 minutes to get our food when there were very few people there. Finally our food arrived only to be disappointed. The cole slaw was dry, all of the hamburgers were over done and dry, the French fries were over salted, the blue cheese was non existent, and the mac and cheese was over cooked and gummy. And to make things even worse we had to ask for refills on our water. I don't know if they thought that they ignored our table that we wouldn't be mad about the long wait or what. All I know is that we will never eat there again! read more
