Great service, they always walk up to you and ask if you need any help. They also have a mobile vet that comes once a month and a local person who trims dogs nails 2x a month. They have a very big variety of items. They also have a dog wash station. read more

This store represents to me the reason that people should go into business in the first place. It's a family run company and the love of animals that so obviously forms part of the backbone of their lives has been faithfully transmitted to each new generation that arrives, contributing to a palpable sense of harmony and service that fills the store. Mama Janet is on the short list of favorite local business owners of just about everyone I know, and son-in-law Billy (a veteran of the War On Terror with the Marine Corps) is always quick to welcome you by name as soon as you arrive, no matter how hard at work he might be. The rest of the family is no less special, and then you have all the friendly critters that have free roam of the grounds to keep you company (and offer first-person testimonials on the products) as you shop, making each visit feel more like a respite from real life than an exercise in capitalism. Tl;dr: The prices are low, the people are amazing, their selection is remarkable, and you'd be a fool to shop anywhere else for pet or livestock products on the Mendocino Coast. read more

I love this feed store. I always bought my dogs food and treats there. The owner was always so helpful. One day I wanted to buy one of there beautiful baseball hats and they asked which color I wanted. They said they were free. I have since left Fort Bragg but wear my hat everyday now for seven years. Not a day goes buy that someone doesn't comment on such beautiful hat. I hope that someone has stopped into their store and purchased something. I am moving up to the area, and needed some shavings for my chickens. I Googled pet stores, and from the reviews, decided to stop by Highway 20 Feed on a Sunday, and though they stocked some lovely shavings, they didn't have the particular type I use. I was surprised by being approached right away by a darling young man, asking if he could help me with anything. He offered to order the shavings I use, asked me all about my chickens, and actually seemed interested. Imagine that... The young woman manning the register was just as sweet. I looked around, as I wanted to buy something at this wonderful place, and found a brand of cat litter that I have been hearing raves about, "Integrity", which many places, especially the online stores, do not carry, and I am happy to say, it is truly amazing, incredibly long lasting, and absorbs all smells. The store was very well laid out, tidy, and my non shopper of a husband actually brought some unusual and very cute dog toys up to me, and was like, "Oh please oh please". Before I went, I had left a message on Facebook for the owner, who messaged me back on Facebook on Monday, as she had been out of town at a industry event, and reiterated the offer of ordering my particular type of shavings. I am sorry, but I am just not used to all this helpfulness, and I love it! This pet store really enforces my wanting to "shop local"! read more

I love it here. I come every 2 weeks to get my chicken feed and fresh straw. I can always ask Janet questions about chickens. She knows everything! Haha. The boys always know what I'm there for and get it into my truck right away. I get all kinds of goodies here too. Treats for my dog, diatomaceous earth for all my pets, this miracle skunk odor eliminator in a spray bottle, specialty dog food for my sensitive pup, dewormers, dog toys, collars, flea treatment. My Australian Shepherds love the selection of food, toys and treats at Highway 20 Feed. One of their fave's is the Zuke's Minis...small treat pieces for training and sold in a big enough bag to last a while. It's a great place to have pet and livestock raising questions answered.
