Wonderful experience! Mendo dog groomed our 2 dogs while we were visiting Fort Bragg. First, they were able cut my Staffie's nails short, and bath her even though she was being "tough" to handle. Secondly, they did a beautiful job grooming our shy terrier mix! She looked amazing when finished. Definitely recommend Mendo Dog! read more

Friendly, not too expensive, and did a good job on our GSD. We took two dogs in for nails and one a wash, trim hair etc. They did a rapid and good job. read more

I been coming to Mendo Dog for years! I always raved about them. Tonite they completely broken my trust in them. I took my King Charles in for her 2nd ever haircut. I showed the girl a pic of what I wanted and text it to her so she would have it while grooming my dog. I told her to, "take some off the top" and "clean up her feathers." What I got was completely different then what I asked for. My dog was just completely shaved. Her beautiful long ears and feathers are gone!!! I was charged 80.00 for this too. She doesn't even look like her breed anymore! When I got home I contacted them to let them know how disappointed I was. Their excuse was my dog was full of mattes. This is not true! I completely checked and removed any matte from her before taking her to the groomer myself! My dog trainer showed me how to remove mattes without hacking her beautiful coat! If they couldn't give her the haircut I asked for they should have called me! They apologized and offered me a discount next time. The problem with that is my trust has been broken! My husband and friends say, "that's a hack job." Thankfully her hair will grow but I'm completely sad they did this. I'm including pics. for reference. read more

I was a little concerned about taking my Black&Tan Cavalier King Charles to them based on the reviews here. She just needed her paws and booty trimmed. They did an excellent job so I was pleased and my girl doesn't seem traumatized or anything so I say the visit to Mendo Dog was great! read more

Super nice, but the new owners clearly don't know how to groom poodles. My dog looked like he had a 6-inch carrot sticking out the top of his head after his grooming. Mendo Dog need some grooming training. read more

Love love love!! My rat terrier's nails have been painfully long for MONTHS because she won't let anyone trim them. I warned the groomer that Whitney is a bite risk and may need to be muzzled. She was very patient, asked if I felt Whitney would do better on her own or with me holding her. She ended up taking her back alone and ten minutes later I had a very happy pup with nice short nails! She didn't have to be muzzled at all. After everything, I hadn't realized they didn't take cards. They had no problem with me running to the store to get cash and coming back to pay them. read more

Super nice ladies. I brought my two dogs in at 245 and I figured it would be about an hour to hour and a half. 5pm rolls around and no call from them. I call at 5:20 and said "just checking on my dogs( gave names of dogs)". "Not quite ready, I'll give you a call" 6:25 rolls around and they finally call to tell me "15 mins and the dogs will be good to go". Don't get me wrong- they did a nice job, but ive never been to a dog place that's taken THAT long, and only one of the dogs was being bathed the other bathed and groomed. Like I said- nice ladies but service is kinda on the slow side.... not sure if I will go back. read more

This spot is unbelievably good. Our german Shepherd has not been bathed in a year. 4 hours later and we have a brand new healthy coated dog. Cannot thank mendo dog enough. Please do give them your pet business. I can assure happiness with outcome! read more

I took my two pups to get a much needed Covid cut yesterday. They are schnauzers but looked more like bears. Jamie welcomes them in and did the most beautiful cut on them. They were fast and efficient and so kind to my pups. I highly recommend Mendo Dog. read more

My poor Aussie was a mess when I brought her in and I can't believe what they were able to do with her. She got a full grooming and looks amazing and smells even better. The price was incredibly fair and actually less than I anticipated given how much work she needed. It's hard to find places on the coast that will take anything other than small dogs and I'm so happy Mendo Dog is here. I already have her next appointment scheduled and I know she'll be happy to go back! read more

Mendo Dog - Pet Groomers Near Me - Fort Bragg, California

I have been a client for a year but something has changed and we will not return. Wendy, our regular groomer was not there. EVERY OTHER employee treated me rudely, My dog was there for 3 HOURS and still wasn't done, I took him anyway as he has severe anxiety and cannot tolerate that. And they raised their prices! I know it's hard, but find another groomer! read more

One of the things about traveling is that you need to figure out the wheres and when's for the musts. It was a must for my little buddy. I brought my Westie in for a bath and trim. The owner was very friendly and conscientious. My dog came back to me calm and happy. The rates are reasonable and the service excellent. If you are driving through with your best friend, make a appointment, and hit the cool shops! You'll both be happy. read more

I took my Flat coat retriever in for his first Spa day. He isn't use to other dogs which made me a bit worried. When I picked him up, he was calm, had met new friends (pooches) and as happy as when I dropped him off. The care Mendo Dog showed to this first timer was amazing. His feet have never looked better, coat was beautiful and job well done. Very friendly place, they care for the animals but most important there was no trauma inflicted on my dog. Very professional all the way around. I highly recommend Mendo Dog for any grooming needs and will be back if only to keep in touch. read more

Excellent service! I called at 2:00 when the other groomer I had tried getting into was rude and disrespectful. This lady has excellent customer service got my dog in at 2:30 to be groomed. Kept her for 45 minutes called me to come get her and she looked adorable! Pink ribbons in her hair and a really good cut. She even took pictures of my dog with a love themed backdrop for Valentine's Day! She is a keeper read more

We booked an appointment first thing in the morning. The shop was late opening and then we were told that the appointment was for the following week. The very rude lady huffed and sighed and said she guessed they could take our dog. At that point it seemed like a terrible idea to leave our dog with a rude person so we said no to the appointment. We were then contacted a week later and asked if we were going to bring our dog in. We explained that the appointment was for the week before, and the lady went off and then hung up. This is completely unacceptable, and so unorganized. You would think they could have checked the appointment books and realized it was the mix up from the week before. Also, the grooming our dog had the month before at this shop took all day, and he was the first dog in line. The entire experience has been terrible, and we won't be back. read more

Just had Riley groomed and while I'm pretty satisfied with how she looks I'm underwhelmed with the experience overall. It cost more than the estimate (they said it was because she was bigger than they expected) but I think it probably was because she was antsy and didn't hold still which made it harder to groom her. So I kind of understand, but I think if the groomer and her assistant hadn't been distracted by socializing with a young man who joined them while they were trimming her, she would probably have been easier to work on. Sorry but I think while you're working on a dog it deserves and needs your full attention. Especially if it's important to you that she feels calm and comfortable. It wasn't terrible and I'm not thrilled so I don't think I'll I be back. read more
