Dr. Hwang and his staff are amazing, by far the best dental office I've ever visited in my life. I have never felt pushed into making a decision I didn't want to. They are all honest and upfront and explain everything in great detail at length, and I am aware of all the possible fees before any treatment. Dr. Hwang is extremely thorough and explains things in ways that I, a non-dentist, can understand clearly. He is meticulous in his treatment, which I have received from general cleanings to wisdom teeth removals and 2 implants with bone growing/grafting. He called me the night of any major treatment to check on me, which was amazing because I always had questions and some concerns during my healing of my implants. His entire staff is amazing and are all friendly. I have to give huge praise to their office manager Lee. She always is very helpful, answers all my questions, and is very knowledgeable at what she does. Their hygienist is meticulous and very gentle. I ended up bringing the rest of my family and children, and of course as I expected they felt right at home. They are super friendly with kids and will do things no office has ever done in the past. I did not have a pleasant experience with Dr Hwang or his staff. Firstly, the doctor accuses me of calling his office manager and demanding x-rays when in reality I simply asked for a copy of them. When the lady told me it's $150, I politely declined. I did not even ask them to take x-rays when I had my consultation. I figured since they already took them I might as well ask. He also says I berated her when in reality that's false. Secondly, this pinhead charges $1,000 per tooth for the pinhole gum technique (and also for laser lengthening). He quoted me $6,000 for six teeth that needed 1-2mm of work, what a joke. I did a little snooping around and top periodontists in Manhattan charge around $600 per tooth, offering discounts if you do multiple teeth. Yet this guy in the middle of nowhere Union St Flushing charges sky-high prices and has an unpleasant attitude to top it off. I already had my gums done with another periodontist in Queens and am satisfied for the most part. I just felt the need to shed some light on this experience that left a bad taste in my mouth, even a few months later. read more

Dr Phil will be my dentist for life!! Not will I only recommend him to other people who ask about a dentist, but I will also suggest to my friends and family to seek treatment from him. Dr Phil was highly recommended by a close family member. After his initial treatment of removing all four of my wisdom teeth and using a mouth guard for my teeth grinding, I feel no pain to this day. From then on I had no cavities or any complications. I receive just a routine cleaning. But most of all no pain!! I have felt from his initial evaluation Dr Phil was not only concerned about my teeth but my overall health and well-being as well. His practice is very professional, clean and modern. Luckily I found the best dental office and best doctor Dr. Phillip Hwang. I was suffering from TMJ tooth pan due to one of the fracture tooth in a back. The pain was un-bearable. During my initial consultation Dr. Phillip Wong was able to find a root cause. I was explained my broken tooth making a way into veins, explained situation with the help of visual x-rays then Dr. Phillip Wong suggested a possible solution. After applying suggested solution the pain gone away in few hours. Now, I can sleep better with almost no pain. I must say I visited at least three other dentist before meeting Dr. Phillip Wong, none of them was able to find what is really going on. Thank you Dr. Phillip Wong for your knowledge and experience, your office is neat and clean, receptionist is very helpful to all customers. Dr. Hwang is the most patient and knowledgable dentist I have met. He explains and answers all my questions before he starts treating by offering most efficient and best ways to solve the problem. He genuinely cares for his patients and offers only the treatment needed, unlike other dentists who tries to find more ways to make money. I highly recommend Dr. Hwang for any dental needs. Edit: Dr Hwang, I am indeed happy with my treatment results from the other periodontist. He did a 90% good job which I'm satisfied with. You're delusional to charge $1,000 per tooth for something as simple as a pinhole gum technique. Your car dealership analogy is a moot point. For treating 6 teeth with the pinhole technique, one could get a chin implant rather than pay your prices. I did receive x-rays at your office, yes, but they weren't given to me so I don't know why you brought that up. Dr Philip Hwang charges $1,000 for gum contouring for a single tooth. I found it off-putting he told me the price directly, when normally it's the doctor's front desk that tells you the price. Wasted Also, he assumed because of my age I would need to ask my parents for money. I'm searching elsewhere for gum contouring. read more

What an honest dentist and a friendly and accommodating staff of girls! Came in for a consultation, the assistant took digital X-rays painlessly, Dr Hwang explained in easy terms my simple (I thought my mouth was a mess but thank goodness it wasn't) issues, he outlined exactly what he would do and the reasonable fees, and now my mouth is back to health and feeling good. So hard to find a good, honest dentist especially in Flushing because there are so many of them ready to pounce on your teeth at the first chance they get. Not Dr Hwang, he was honest, quick, efficient, reasonable, and his set of girls were super friendly and served with a smile. Dr. Hwang is a great dentist and the people that work in his office are great too. Here are some examples: 1) From my many years of seeing dentists (because I have bad teeth and gums), he is the most pain-free. He is not in a rush. He takes his time caring for you. 2) He cares about his patients. When my brother-in-law had oral surgery (performed by Dr. Hwang), he called him at home to ensure that things were going well and to check whether he had any pain. 3) I have a high gag reflex when taking Xrays, the girls in his office are very patient and let me take breaks when I need to. I often need to take the xrays a number of times to get it right. There is never any issue with doing that. read more

My family and I have been going to Hwang Dental for the last Four years and we do not plan to go anywhere else for any of our dental work. Dr. Hwang is great with both adults and kids. His work is thorough and gentle to which my 13 and 15 year olds are both always happy to see him. In addition, Dr. Hwang's office is staffed with a great team. Lee at the front desk is the nicest receptionist and always go out of her way to help us with our appointments. Each and every one of his assistants there are very caring and thoughtful. We've been sending our kids here since they were 3-4 years old. They are now 5 and 8. Multiple cleanings under their belt, x-rays and extractions (!)... they don't complain about going to the dentist! Dr Hwang and his staff are extremely nice, patient and gentle. We have known Dr. Hwang for over 6 years. He is an excellent and dedicated dentist. He is very knowledgeable in this field. Dr. Hwang has a calm and gentle demeanor which is a great asset to alleviate anxiety in patients. The office is super modern and clean. The staff is very welcoming. With an appointment here, they actually see you on your scheduled time (not like other doctor offices where they make you wait for 1 to 2 hours past your appointment time). Doctor Hwang is very skilled, I didn't feel any pain for my filling and root canal. He even called the next day for a follow up to see how I was doing!!!
