The first time we went, we were prepped extremely well as newbies. I felt very comfortable. We traveled into the ocean and saw dolphins. There were a lot of water sports using boats and skis in the water not far away. The waves made me seasick. I got so sick my guide noticed and towed us to the inlet. I felt much better and could complete the tour. I really had a fun time despite my moment! The second time we went, the water was extremely turbulent. Instead of canceling our tour, our guide changed the path and prepped us what to expect before we even began. It was so much fun!! We were so happy to have completed the tour. This one was fantastic! Pat and Eduardo helped us onto the boat, secured our life vests and then told us to give us a thumbs up or down if we wanted them to go faster or slower. The speed was perfect (fast enough to be bumpy, exciting, and fun, without being scary or dangerous). Toward the end, we gave a thumbs up and got some great thrills and big splashes in! We paid extra for the pics and video, which the staff sent to my phone (thanks Olivia!) It was sooo worth it! The pics are priceless! We highly recommend this adventure.

The park also has a decent amount of parking although there were not too many people in the park during my visit. Also, the park/trails were pretty maintained with plenty of markers to keep you going in the right direction. While the park is nice, I probably would not go too far out of my way (30+ minutes by car) to visit unless I want to take advantage of the kayaking/paddle boating opportunities.

Bryan was very helpful in getting us set up (and also kept asking if we could handle 2 hours haha). The next morning we met up with the tour guide Will at 840am and signed the waiver before starting the tour at 9am. Will was very helpful in getting us situated and starting to paddle. My boyfriend's kayaked once but this was my first time and it wasn't bad! Will provided some ecosystem information but unfortunately we didn't see any dolphins (he said there were 6 or 7 who lived in the area). We finally saw three or four dolphin fins in the water once we reached the dock and unloaded at 11am, the end of the tour. Unfortunately most of the time was spent either paddling or trying to spot dolphins so not too much conversation was made during the tour but it was still interesting and fun for my first time. Hopefully if we get another chance to come down to VA, we can see the dolphins and enjoy another tour. Pro tip is to wear waterproof shorts because your butt and legs get wet. Also bring a towel in the car and make sure to put lots of sunscreen on before the tour. Our tour was July 6th 9am to 11am and it was hella nice til 10am when the sun greeted us veeeeery well. A hat would help!
