We have used this service twice and I highly recommend Ocean Eagle Kayak. My husband and I are novice kayakers but when you get done one session, you feel like a pro! The first time we went, we were prepped extremely well as newbies. I felt very comfortable. We traveled into the ocean and saw dolphins. There were a lot of water sports using boats and skis in the water not far away. The waves made me seasick. I got so sick my guide noticed and towed us to the inlet. I felt much better and could complete the tour. I really had a fun time despite my moment! The second time we went, the water was extremely turbulent. Instead of canceling our tour, our guide changed the path and prepped us what to expect before we even began. It was so much fun!! We were so happy to have completed the tour. If you've ever thought about ocean kayaking, of all the kayak companys I've tried, the best one was Ocean Eagle Kayak Adventures. So I don't normally do groupons unless they really offer something special or different. I only kayak'd once before in very calm waters and was initially hesitant about this since you got out into the ocean. No problem! Just got back today and this was a great experience. Whenever people come in to visit me, I will def take them on this trip. It's about a 2.5 hour adventure and they have times at 7:30 AM and 10:30AM. They will take you to see dolphins in the open waters where there are also turtles. I suggest going in the morning because that is when the dolphins are more likely to be there (it's their feeding time). Remember to bring towels, water bottle, sun block and sun glasses!! read more

Fun, exciting, relaxing, physical, peaceful... So much to describe about this experience. Doing something like this is definitely a must with a group of friends although two of you in a tandem kayak are just fine. An easy way You start off at the Aquarium and then make your way toward the Oceanfront. Within 20 minutes we were making our way toward the ocean which is under the bridge that starts General Booth Blvd. Unfortunately, the waves were too rough to get into the ocean but we still had a great tour of Virginia Beach from a water view perspective. I didn't realize we had some amazing waves but it looked like hurricane season made for some exciting surfing for the folks hanging out in Croatan. We did a neighborhood tour where you find all the baller houses and a nature tour where you can see all the crazy birds. Cash and check are acceptable payments. They have a suggested $10 per person tip for the tour guide. I do believe the cost of the tour is significantly less if you like them on Facebook. I'm definitely looking forward to doing this again. read more

I highly recommend! I was supposed to kayak tandem with my husband because I was 7 months pregnant. But my husband got sick and couldn't make it so I went alone and it was awesome. So totally worth it. The guides easily made adjustments for a single instead of a tandem and I kept up with the group with no problems! I much rather have my own kayak than share one because the freedom on the water feels so good. I have kayaked many times before but this was my first ocean going experience. It was different and great and I loved it. The guides were excellent. We saw lots of dolphins. The early morning was definitely the way to go to beat the boats and sun. read more

We arrived Virginia beach at night, suddenly decided to kayak next morning. We found a few companies on the internet before we sleep. We wake up at 7:30 the next morning, we called all of them. This is the only company answered my phone. It's pretty amazing they started to work at 7:30 in the morning. A lady answered my phone. She explained the tours available that day. We chose a 2.5 hours kayak tour at 10:30. It takes us a while to find the dock where we meet our tour guide and other customers. Before we arrived the dock, the lady checked back on us few times to make sure we find the right place, which is very nice and helpful. The tour guide is amazing. You can tell he is very professional and has a lot experience. The trip is very relax and not hurry. It makes you feel they really want you to enjoy the kayak trip. The guide is also knowledge about local birds, dolphins, animals and plants. We learned a lot while enjoy the kayak tour. Overall it was a great experience. We ask the guide to suggest a restaurant for us. We went to there right after the tour, it was amazing. We appreciated for this company helped us join the tour just in time and brought us a great day here at Virginia beach. Great service, professional guide, affordable and reasonable price, excellent location. It deserves a 5 star. I will recommend anyone to take kayak tour from this company in the future. read more

First time kayaking and in the ocean. Guides were there early and had everything set up. I was very nervous but once I got there the guys were very knowledgeable and explained everything. Boy what a relief. They made me feel safe and more comfortable so I could enjoy the experience. Had a great time and would go back again. Was there from Texas with my daughter and her boyfriend who live there. We had our 4 grandchildren with us. What an amazing experience we had together. I highly recommend this! There were 2 guides and 7 adventurers. My sister and I have never been ocean kayaking but Daniel and Steve explained the basics and made us feel safe. I made our reservation a week prior and received thorough and easily understandable instructions. The weather was nice but the ocean was choppy so we didn't go too far. We didn't see much wildlife from where we were but we had a lot of fun riding waves. It was definitely a fun way to build some upper body strength. My sister adds, "everything hurts but it was totally worth it." (They also gave us tips for that!) read more

Awesome adventure--I highly recommend!!! This was our family's second ocean kayak trip with Ocean Eagle Kayak, and we will definitely return again at the earliest opportunity. Our guide did a great job of teaching the basics of kayaking through the calmer waters of Rudee's Inlet, giving everyone the opportunity to work through them, and then leading us out on to the Atlantic ocean for an amazing ride with the dolphins. Both years, our guide has been friendly, approachable, and eager to share his love of the ocean and it's wildlife with us. It's a great workout, exciting and fun all wrapped into one great morning. Wow, just wow! This is a tour that will make you feel existentially complete. The tour guides are gentle with the newbies, yet challenging for those with some time on the water. They are very knowledgeable of all matters kayak, as well as nature. I cannot emphasize how therapeutic and bliss-inducing this experience is.
