I've been dying to go on a dolphin-watching tour in Virginia Beach for a while now, and I finally…read moremade it happen. I went with my little brother, and the entire experience was incredible from start to finish. The boat was clean and comfortable, and the crew was so friendly and knowledgeable. They created such a fun, welcoming atmosphere for everyone on board. There's also a gift shop in the center of the boat with air conditioning, bathrooms, a gift shop, and a sleuth of reasonably priced food and drinks. The entire ride drom start to finish is about 90 minutes. We didn't have to wait long at all before spotting our first dolphins, and before we knew it, there were pods swimming right alongside us. It was absolutely unforgettable. My little brother was amazed, and honestly, so was I. The views were stunning, the vibe was relaxing, and the dolphin sightings were nonstop. This was one of those experiences I'll never forget. If you've been thinking about doing it, just go. You won't regret it. PS: Parking is free right by the dock when you purchase a ticket.

Then the ship captain decided to leave the fishing grounds 30-45 minutes early to bring us back to the dock. Two boat went out for tautog, the first boat departed 30 minutes before ours and when we returned to dock they were still out fishing. We believe the captain had other plans and cut our trip short although no one on the boat had any keepers. We used Rudee Tours last year for black bass and did well, but this last trip will make us reluctant to do any tautog tours with them future.

Ok so I'm not really a boat person but it was our anniversary and my wife and anted to do this. Now…read morewe got there a bit early and sat on the boardwalk waiting, during that time the temperature changed and the water was real choppy. I'm not one to punk out of a challenge but.... I was Leary of the water conditions " (We gonna need a bigger boat), and was ready to say screw that! But you don't get a refund if you cancel or not show, so I muscled up. I will say the captain and mate( sorry I don't remember their names) but we sailed on the Alliance. It was a bit treacherous getting off the dock, but once out in the river it was cool. Sailing under the Coleman was cool as well. We met some nice people and the Captain and his mate were really friendly, my wife even got to help hoist the sails. Would I do again...yeah just on a calmer day.

If you go on a hot day, sit towards the front of the boat because you'll get any breeze that gets mustered up by the boat's movement. I'm not a boat person, and if it wasn't so hot out, I think I would have liked it better. The crew were so friendly and informative about how the boat works and they fired a cannon, which was neat. The drinks they offered were cold and went well with the boat riding. The chairs they have are plastic folding chairs, which ended up being more comfortable than expected.
