A fantastic tour. We arrived early for the tour and Rachel…read morechecked us in. We had a short wait before the captain said we could board. Rachel made us feel comfortable. We talked with her while we waited for others to check in. Captain Charlie let us board on time. No surprises or delays. Bev and I used the walkers to get down the ramp. Captain Charlie with the whole crew greeted every passenger at the bottom of the ramp. They helped us over the step onto the tour boat. Adam assisted the captain in getting us on our way. He wore his life vest as he was out front on the boat. We were indoors. Bev and I sat down on a table right in the front. Most passengers went upstairs to the next level. We did not think we could manage so many steps so we sat in the room we came in. Hudson also assisted throughout the event. He answered many questions we had about the trip. Captain Charlie's voice came over the speakers and shared many facts about the area. We were looking left right and front. Captain Charlie is so friendly and naturally funny. Bev and I enjoyed his commentary. Bev had questions about specific things as she lived in this area for 23 years. Hudson answered all of them. He is very knowledgeable about the area. Adam took our order for drinks so we did not have to go upstairs to the bar. He kindly brought them to us. We also asked for snacks. Cookies and chips to go with our drinks. I gave him my credit card and he returned with everything. Adam checked on us often. He is so friendly, kind and has a great sense of humor. Bev and Adam would banter back and forth. Both have a quick wit. We were taking everything in. It was such a beautiful sunny day with a slight breeze coming across the Chesapeake Bay. On the way back to the dock we saw so many dolphins. They were swimming and jumping out of the water. So beautiful and exciting. I'm sure the joy in my heart was seen through the smile in my eyes. Once we docked Rachel was right there to welcome us home. Time flew by so fast with so much to see. Rachel was joined by Captain Charlie, Adam and Hudson to see us safely to shore. We were saving, the cruise, the best for last. The first Miss Hampton operator retired, so there was a three-year delay from when I purchased to when we could do the cruise. We appreciated the new owners who were gracious and honored our Sea to Stars Combination ticket. The staff was friendly and helpful. It was a very hot day. The staff recommended that we would probably be the most comfortable at the bow of the boat where there was a cool spray and a nice breeze.

It is located in downtown Norfolk right next to the Nauticus and the Wisconsin battleship. The cruise port staff is very friendly and accommodating. As soon as we arrived, we dropped off our luggage outside and headed to the line where we were asked to provide our boarding passes before heading inside to continue checking in. Once inside, everyone was extremely helpful and guided us exactly where we needed to go. After we went through security and shown our documentation, we were headed the ship. It took roughly 30 minutes overall! The staff were amazing and set the tone for a great trip! I would definitely cruise from Norfolk again!

5 star location where you can rent stand up paddle boards, bikes and kayaks. We rented paddle…read moreboards and kayaks yesterday. There is only one guy there so we carried our boards across the lawn to put in on a sandy beach that was right in the bay. Excellent spot and fantastic scenery. Today we went back and rented mountain bikes and rode up into false cape state park. The bikes weren't in great condition and we had to make adjustments ourselves. This could easily be a 5 star spot with more attention to maintaining equipment and getting staff to spend a little time offering advice and adjusting equipment to fit the client. If you know what you're doing, it's great. If you are a novice, you might be disappointed or a bit freaked out (in the middle of the bay struggling to get your paddle board back in or stuck in the park with a bike that keeps falling out of gear). We rode around the north end of the beach sporting mountain bikes, wearing helmets, and drinking water. It was a nice, casual ride from one stop to the next that included a stretch of Virginia Beach's Boardwalk, the statute of Neptune, the Cavalier Hotel, First Landing Park, and other area sights. We typically have events with live music a couple times a week, as well as food trucks (but only during summer to my knowledge). There are less families than any other group of people but we still enjoy having a home-away-from-home. The routine is 14 days booked (with a minimal daily fee) and 7 days off-site (some storage available on site). Bathhouses, pavilion, overflow parking, clubhouse and some weekly events (during the summer) included. Laundry room available but we rarely use it. Dogs allowed with proper vaccines and license. There is a small dog park on site. We really enjoy the two pools (one with kiddie area and lifeguards).

Probably would give a 2.5/3 otherwise. As far as the stories/tour go... let me just preface this by saying I've done a lot of walking ghost/paranormal tours amongst other things. The stories felt pretty anemic, and this certainly did not need to be a walking tour for those stories. Not a lot of actual ghost stories were told, and very few of the stories actually occurred at the stopping points. They were mostly all (low key) related, however. Cool history and a nice way to see some art, memorials, and an historic site (the outside) around town, though. A better route where stories actually occurred would make more sense, but I enjoyed the walk and local lore nonetheless. I was sad the ghost plushie I added on did not match the advertised photo. That's probably on me. I collect paranormal/supernatural plushies and trinkets and already have one like I got. Wasn't tour specific at all. Tl;dr Tour is fun (historical/lore wise). Not super ghosty. Nice walk.

Initially, I was hesitant since I don't spin and haven't ridden a bike since childhood. We had a smaller group (six people) so we did have to pedal more than a tour with a larger group. Overall, it was a decent workout for my out-of-shape thighs, but a fun experience overall. The staff was great, and even provided an assist when we were struggling to pedal! While they do let you play your own music during the tour, we enjoyed NPT's mix as we rode around downtown Norfolk. We did the Brunch Tour, making stops at Brick Anchor for mimosa pitchers, Saltine for brunch and La Brioche for dessert. Because we were on the tour, we were able to eat in a private dining room and take 20 percent off our bill at Saltine. I'll definitely be taking another tour in the near future. Norfolk Pedal Tours is an energizing and exciting way to get to your favorite spots along Granby Street.
