My family and I met the tiki boat at lynnhaven public boat ramp. Captain Robbie was our guide he greeted everyone with a smile and a lei that was a nice touch. The boat was a 30 by 15 foot pontoon boat wonderfully decorated tiki style with ample comfortable seating no matter where you sit had a great view of the inlet.Learned a lot about the inlet on the cruise over to our first destination lots of bars restaurants and beautiful houses cruising down the river every one waving at us. Tiki boats bring good vibes . We then arrived at the park beach Captain Robbie expertly docked us. Had a swim call and picnic it was so nice pretty much had the place to ourselves. Then back on board to cruise the rest of the inlet. Watched a beautiful sunset! I am really happy with this tiki trip my daughter said it was the highlight of her week. A group of 8 of us went…read moreout on a Friday evening for a sunset pontoon ride, and it was honestly the perfect way to kick off the weekend. The location couldn't be better! They're located right in Sandbridge next to Baja, so it was super convenient to grab a couple of pizzas to bring along for the ride. We even brought cupcakes to celebrate a birthday. Highly reccomend this. Ryan was our boat driver, and he couldn't have been nicer. He made sure we were comfortable, gave us just enough info about the area, and let us enjoy the views at our own pace. The back bay is stunning. The peaceful water, gorgeous skies, and when the sun started to set, it was absolutely beautiful. I think we all had one of those "wow, we live here" moments. I'd recommend bringing a sweatshirt, since it does get chilly once the sun goes down! One thing I loved was how many options Virginia Beach Watersports has. Besides the pontoons, they've got jet ski rentals, watersports, kayaks, stand up paddle boards ... you name it. One day I'll definitely be back to try a jet ski day, just not quite yet! And the location. Being right next to the Baja is great if you want to continue the fun after your boat ride! If you're looking for something fun to do with friends or family that feels a little different but relaxing, I can't recommend this enough. We had wanted to give a birthday gift of a fishing trip to grandpa and one of our kids and we're going to be in the area and we're so happy we found Blind Date Charters. The boat was great, we caught a bunch of fish and the kids and adults had a wonderful time. We did the 1/2 day which was perfect for our group considering we had kids. By the time we called, we truly thought we had missed the boat (literally and figuratively). Lauren went above and beyond to contact the crew and help us. She also helped us find a second parking lot when the designated lot was full. Because of her kindness and professionalism, they waited for us and we were able to experience an absolutely incredible cruise today. Customer service like that matters. Thank you for turning a stressful morning into wonderful family memories. . All this before we met the crew who patiently waited for us at the dock. They were gracious as they welcomed us aboard. The two hours were filled with so much detail on not only the ships we were looking at, but the buildings we were looking at and their history. The captain filled in with interesting bits of trivia about the harbor, the rivers that run into the Chesapeake Bay and facts of some piers and docks that had historical significance. The boat has an upper deck if you want to sit in the open. For those who prefer a little less adventure, you can sit inside the lower area that is fully enclosed. There is a small drink and snack bar where you can purchase drinks and packaged snacks. They have souvenir t-shirts, sweatshirts, hats and other small items for purchase. We were able to bring our own food and drinks onboard, and had the option to play whatever music we wanted. We told Jay that we wanted to see dolphins, and he knew exactly where to go for that. We did end up seeing lots of dolphins, and Jay also gave us a lot of fun facts about dolphins as well. I would 100% recommend taking a ride with Jay, for any of the available tours, and I already can't wait to come back to VA beach to take a ride with him again!
