From routine cleanings to more detailed procedures, he's always thorough, patient, and genuinely invested in your long term dental health. What really sets the Upland office for success is the team. I am sure the same standard carries through the entire practice locations. From the front desk always welcoming and efficient (no chaotic waiting room energy) everything runs like a well-orchestrated operation. Dr Barsoum takes the time to explain options clearly, never rushes decisions, and makes you feel comfortable, even if you're not exactly excited about being in a dental chair. The office is clean, modern, and runs on schedule (which I deeply respect). If you are looking for a dentist who combines skill, professionalism and genuinely caring team, this is the place. After years as a patient, I wouldn't trust my sole anywhere else!

I am extremely disappointed with the care I received at Barosum Dental in Upland. My experience…read moreleft me feeling unheard, misdiagnosed, and ultimately traumatized. While I was out of town on July 12, 2026, I developed severe pain on the lower right side of my mouth. As soon as I returned, I scheduled an emergency appointment for July 15. I also had a previously scheduled deep cleaning appointment for July 16. During my emergency visit, the female dentist appeared to minimize my concerns. Instead of focusing on the area where I was experiencing pain, she asked whether I had seen an endodontist for a referral from a year earlier and questioned a shadow in my gums that had existed for over 30 years on the opposite side of my mouth. I requested X-rays, and a 360-degree scan was performed. After reviewing the images, she told me everything looked fine, that I had no cavities, gave me Sensodyne toothpaste for tooth sensitivity, and said I was cleared to proceed with my deep cleaning the following day. Later that same day, the office coordinator called and told me they wanted me to see the endodontist before my cleaning. I went to the appointment, and within five minutes the endodontist identified a cavity. My primary dentist confirmed the finding and recommended that my wisdom tooth be extracted. I was extremely upset that my condition had been missed during my emergency visit. I asked to speak with the female dentist who had evaluated me, but she was unavailable. I scheduled the extraction for July 17, 2026. Because I had previously had a successful experience using nitrous oxide during another tooth extraction, I requested it again to help manage my anxiety. I was numbed for the procedure and was told I was receiving nitrous oxide, but I never felt its effects. I noticed the dental assistant was on the phone for much of the procedure, and it appeared that no one ensured the nasal cannula was properly positioned. I informed both the oral surgeon and the assistant that I did not feel like I was receiving the nitrous oxide, but my concerns were dismissed. I remained anxious throughout the procedure, and the extraction was ultimately unsuccessful. I left the office emotional, traumatized, and deeply disappointed. This was the worst dental experience I have ever had. As healthcare providers, listening to patients is essential. I repeatedly expressed my concerns and felt they were ignored every step of the way. I will not be returning to this office. I also plan to verify that my insurance was not billed for procedures that were not completed, including the deep cleaning and the unsuccessful tooth extraction. I hope this review encourages the office to improve communication, patient care, and attention to patient concerns so that others do not have a similar experience.

What frustrated me most was being repeatedly questioned even after I explained I didn't have the information. For a consultation, it felt excessive and made the experience stressful before I had even stepped into their office. I ended up going to Barsoum dental office in Chino where the consultation was quick, easy, and they even took complimentary X-rays. The difference in the new patient experience was night and day.

Rose in the office also was VERY neglient on calling for her crown. It should have been weeks from the time she got her root canal to the time she got her crown. NOPE. After months of pain, calling the dentist they finally made an appt and the Endodontist said her tooth was UNSAVABLE and she had to get it taken out!!!!! So she lost her permanent tooth and of course they wanted her to get an implant. Her other root canal never got a crown either. After months of waiting for it , on the day she was suppose to get her crown Upland Dental cancelled her appointment and said they could no longer see her!!! These people are the most unprofessional people/business I have ever seen. They wanted to do thousands of dollars of unnecessary stuff of which I said "No we will just get necessary things done first. Wow, FRAUD ALERT.

The molar had been bothering me for years but I finally decided to do something about it. When I had my X-ray taken, Dr. Gilbert showed me that the molar and surrounding gum tissue were infected and that my body has been fighting an active infection! I had been feeling more run-down than usual this past year I thought that it could be this molar; I was relieved to discover that I was right. I immediately scheduled a surgery date for the extraction, bone graft, and ensuing dental implant. Dr. Gilbert told me that I would feel so much better after getting the molar removed. The day arrived and I had my molar removed as a well as the bone graft. Dr. Gilbert was right, I felt so much better immediately after surgery! I didn't bleed much and didn't have much swelling. Moreover, I barely had any pain and only had to take one Motrin the first day - which I took preemptively but I probably didn't need it. About a month ago, I went back for the dental implant procedure. The X-ray showed that my bone graft was adequate and I went right into surgery. After the second surgery, I was grateful to experience a similar result as the first surgery - very little bleeding, pain, or swelling. I just went in for my 4 week follow-up and my implant healed nicely, so nicely in fact that my gums healed over the implant! I have a bone-disease similar to osteoporosis and I'm very particular about who I choose to operate on me. Dr. Gilbert presented himself as professional, confident, and most importantly capable of meeting the challenge of performing a successful dental implant procedure on me. Thank you, Dr. Gilbert! And also thank you to all of the staff and dental assistants who are all very pleasant and respectful of their patient's time!

The dentist got mad when i said i can still feel on the side of my gums, she said it was all in my head, and to stop it. Part of me said, you know what, im cancelling. When i did, she was frustrated she didnt make that money. She walked out rudely, and went into her office, and said she will just charge me for the numbing. I was talking to the old lady about why i cant do it, and told her a religious story about something evil that popped up in my dream. The dentist walked out, and said, what did you just say? I repeated, she said, ill pray for you. But her heart wasnt there because when she prayed, she said normally she wouldnt but once she heard that, she said she wanted too. I was like, how is this prayer going to be accepted if she says that? After she prayed for me, she says, did it work now? I was like , WHAT!? It didnt because her heard wasnt in it for the lord. When you pray, you dont say, "Ok lets see if it worked!" This is not a magic spell! You pray but the healing is already done from the cross when Jesus died. He said, it is done. You have to call out your sickness by name. You say, sinuses congestion, in the name of Jesus, i command you to leave my body in Jesus name! I refunded the $3000 from Cherry. Norma wanted that $$$ so i had to schedule an appointment when she couldve just done it over the phone. She was rude, she got smart ass with me saying its protocol. I said okay. I called Cherry, and i told them, i didnt spend any of the money, go get it back. I went through their protocol, and got it done. I called and Norma picked up again, she get mad that i did that LOL. She didnt like that one bit because she wanted that money. She tried to tell me when i said i had to file Ch 7, she said, its okay, you dont need to do anything, you are filing for ch 7. I said, NO! Thats illegal, and thats stealing. You did no work, there is no charge except for the numbing. That was already paid by my insurance. She DID NOT like that lol! She asked why i called Cherry, i said right back, "Its their protocol." lol. Which it was! because if you arent gonna use the loan money, you have to give it back. So i had to answer questions so they can proceed the refund. So i did and you have to do it. Few days later of my appointment to make the refund. I wait and wait sitting, and the old lady, i dont remember her name, she hands me a paper to sign and she says, its a "Partial Refund", i was like, partial refund? She did not explain why, i couldnt wait to leave that place. They only refunded $1000 out of the $3000. They kept $2000 of the money they did nothing of any work. If there was a fee, its not 2 grand. They have the place all pretty with Christian props, music, pamphlets and it looked nice. Im a christian, and i felt this was just to bring money in. Norma then pops her face out, she looks at me, smiled, and walks out and says nothing. She gave my mom a hard time when my mom asked about an update of me and she was not at the office. She was out doing non-related work stuff, probably shopping because i never heard of a dentist that is out on the go doing things when she should be at work doing her job. She was frustrated because she had to do her job, and my mom was having her answer questions in how i was and what i was getting for the visit. That is also what caused the cancellation. They are so bad, they are evil, dishonest, stole money. If i had money to pay for an attorney, i would have sued them for stealing. I did tell Cherry to call them and get your money back. I hope they did. I felt it was a scam, and had money stolen from me. If they kept the money, i hope that Cherry will send them the bill for them to pay it back. Stay clear of this place. They stole $2K and kept it. Just imagine if you had to pay a ton of money and then suddenly, not get the work and have them take 80% of the money. Im not one to judge but they dont act like Christians. When you lie, you are sinning, and doing what the devil wants you to do, lie and steal. Its a Christian waiting room but behind the curtain to make money off of you. If they were honest, they would refund Cherry 100%. When Norma freaked out when my mom's blood pressure was super high at 200/100, you dont be in fear, you pray on it, and ask, do you need to go to the hospital? My mom has white coat syndrome. Norma was scared so it made my moms BP shoot more. My moms BP went down when she got home, it was all Norma and that place. I even heard a little girl who didnt like the old lady there. She was rude, i can hear her while i was waiting for an hour in the other room. The girl was like 5. She didnt wanna do it. I can hear and i can tell, yeah thats why, she was being a little rude with her. Ive been to many clinics, dentists, and such. Its been 30 years since i last had a problem with the people at a place. Dont go here!

The package came with a few follow up visits and if any revision is needed he includes that too. Besides the numbing the procedure was painless and recovery was not more painful that what is expected. Recovery does kinda suck but is worth it and the bulk of the pain goes away in 1 week.
