College HUNKS Hauling Junk & Moving - Palm Beach County

I have limited time on the weekends to get down and help her pack and before the actual move. I called College Hunks on Saturday once I realized we needed help. Jaslyn booked an appointment for the next day, Sunday, for Brandin and Cole to come out and give us a quote to remove items we no longer need. They were prompt, early even, so kind and helpful. They gave us the quote and were able to move the items out before they left. It was a no pressure quote and they offered to come back after I got other quotes but we needed the items moved that day and they were fair. I would use College Hunks again and really appreciate the help as moving my mother creates a lot of tasks for me to handle and being far away makes it hard. This is one thing I do not need to worry about now.

Considering that, I'm unsure how we wound up stuck for multiple days, culminating in a 19-plus hour day and a 1 a.m. move to the new location just 30 minutes away. But the largest issue is how highly unprofessional and shockingly aggressive the movers were. Our belongings were bafflingly thrown from a third floor balcony within a shared community complex, endangering others and ruining property. When we expressed dismay, one employee, Derrick, became violent and had to be physically restrained by another, who actually quit shortly after, citing Derrick's disrespect. Upon arrival, all of our belongings were stacked and left at the entryway; hundreds of pounds of furniture blocking the only door to the home of an elderly couple. College Hunks also left all trash and company packing materials, including dozens of heavy blankets. A staggering amount of our property was damaged too; gauges to a 150-year-old family heirloom, ripped artwork, scuffed tables and floors, multiple shattered glass tables. Not what you'd expect from a multi-thousand dollar move. College Hunks has not offered any compensation, refund, or explanation, despite our repeated attempts to speak with local and corporate leads to discuss further. I genuinely would not recommend them under any circumstance if you value your belongings and personal safety.

JunkRush - Customer needed an empty house by the end of the day - no time to spare! JunkRush tackled it all, removing and loading the truck.

I was greeted on the phone by a gentleman named Gilbert who was, kind, helpful and professional. I explained my situation and urgency for help. He was more than willing to immediately assist me! Exceptional customer service. We agreed on a price and a time as I had a furniture delivery on the way. He politely asked me for my contact information so he could arrange this pick up for me. In the midst of getting everything together, I am almost hit by a car in my neighborhood while I'm walking. Now I'm extremely emotional, confused and have so much to deal with. Here comes Gilbert to the rescue. He had the most sweetest demeanor, was very calming and he literally carried a 6 foot heavy couch, down three flights of stairs by himself.. IMPRESSIVE!! junk rush I cannot thank you enough for going above and beyond and saving the day for me. People are highly suggest you use them. I hired Albert a few months ago to remove a large couch from my home. All went well and we…read morediscussed doing a second job at some point down the line. We needed to move some items from a private garage in Boca Raton to a condo in Delray Beach. One would think this would be a fairly simple move, right? Read on to see how this move panned out. We put our trust in Albert to move two pieces of high end furniture along with some very sentimental items that can not be replaced, including urns, bar mitzvah albums, etc. I can go on but you get the drift. Granted, this company is a junk hauler and some things were indeed being dumped. However, the personal items that were to be kept were packed in such a way and with such care, even a moron would be able to tell these boxes were NOT garbage. In fact, Albert and my friends ex-wife had a long detailed conversation about both the furniture and which boxes were to be saved. The value of the furniture was also discussed as it was custom made and of great quality. Why did we use a junk hauler to move such sensitive and sentimental belongings? I always make a point to use independently owned businesses whenever possible, and Albert appeared to be a decent guy. A family man trying to provide for his family. Let's face it, during a national pandemic, we must be careful with who we allow into our homes. At this point we had an established relationship with Albert and we were trying to help him earn some money by giving him a small local move. If you follow me and read my reviews, then you know me well enough to know I never sugar coat anything-ever. I'm straight and to the point, so when I say this guy can not and should not be trusted, I mean this 100%. He came to the door and told us he "accidentally" dumped EVERYTHING! Yes, the two pieces of custom designed furniture as well as the meticulously packed boxes that contained so many precious memories/items. He dumped urns for God's sake! And speaking of God, Albert told us he is a Christian several times. What does that even mean? I'm Jewish, but do I remind my clients I am Jewish whenever I screw up? Of course not! We can all fabricate stories; such as "accidentally" dumping expensive furniture, but please tell me where religion even fits into this subject. If I accidentally placed a lien on a clients property, would claiming I am Jewish have anything to do with this? It wouldn't even belong in the conversation, right? Example: Mr Smith, I am so very sorry but I accidently put a lien on your home~BUT I AM JEWISH. WTF does religion have to do with anything??? Albert did give us a small loveseat he claimed was brand new he purchased the previous day. I don't believe him, in fact, I believe he kept it from a previous move. Just my opinion, not a fact. Listen, this review is solely based upon my own personal experience. Do I think this guy is respectable? Absolutely not. Honest? Again, a hard no from me. And to reiterate, this review is based on my own experience with this company. The facts don't lie. We hired him to do a small job, he fudged up, but because he is Christian, that makes it okay??? Based upon my own actual experience, there is no way I would/could recommend this company. Not even a little bit. Not in a million years. Not even to my worst enemy.

It was a big job considering the enormous amount of stuff she had, most of which would not fit in her new surroundings. We can all relate to how stressful moving and clearing can be: the process, the choices, the cost, the waste and environmental impact. It is emotionally and financially draining. Mychael and her team entered the picture ("The Chix") with an invaluable measure of competence and compassion. First, the response time was fast. I suppose Mychael is accustomed to families that are in or nearing crisis when they realize they need help! Second, the process was laid out clearly and within a short while we understood how the articles we could not move would be handled, donated, credited etc. Third, the team stuck to their schedule, worked with our building manager on permitting and reserving the elevator, consulted with us when they came across documents or personal items of legal or sentimental value. They made the entire experience seamless. I cannot offer high enough praise for the Pick Up Chix concept, ethic and execution. When I showed my siblings the video of a clean swept apartment -- after we agonized for weeks over how we would deal with my mom's stuff -- it brought tears of joy and relief to our eyes. I wish the Pick Up Chix would franchise. Thank you Mychael and team.
