YUCK! I won't even waste much time with this review. It is one thing for an establishment to be dirty and whomever is working there is just sitting around talking instead of cleaning or at least making an attempt to clean ANYTHING but then its another to make dirty choices like not washing your hands before handling a pizza. Just sitting there passing off bacteria from touching everything under the sun and then decided, "Hey look! A customer....let me walk around this sink and just start putting their pizza together and really putting my hands into everything too - I was disgusted and I still am now. GOOD BYE FOREVER. read more

Well 3 strikes and you're out. First few times ordering from Husky pizza were fantastic but I don't know what changed. Seems the last 3 times ordering food from Husky has been less than good. Tonight pretty much sealed the deal. I probably won't be ordering from Husky ever again. They are now consistently bad. Tasteless and greasy describe all the food pretty much perfectly. Low quality and poorly prepared. On top of lousy food they can't even make the proper order. Cheeseburger Grinder was $10+ for very little meat and less than fresh lettuce and tomato. I asked for bacon and they gave me bacon bits. Or something similar. I also ordered some Sweet Chili Lime boneless buffalo wings. $20 for 12 pieces and all they gave me was a pile of PLAIN chicken fingers of the frozen variety. Are you even kidding me right now? Cheesy garlic bread was not good. Barely any cheese or garlic. The only thing keeping above a 1 start review was the southwestern chicken salad. That was decent. So in the end, $70 later I'll say with confidence that I won't ever be back to this place. Lost a customer tonight and won't recommend to anyone I know. read more

Frozen crust. First time trying Husky pizza, ordered a large half-pepperoni and a medium "the works" with eggplant substituted in place of the pepperoni on that pie. Fist thing you'll notice is they use an oviously pre-made, brought-in, frozen dough for the crust. Not good. Beyond the obvious textural let-down, It literally leaves an aftertaste. My wife ordered stuffed manicotti , she said it was "okay, but very bland". If a place bills itself as a "pizza" restaurant, I do not expect them to use a pre-made, frozen pizza dough. Almost forgot... we also ordered Onion Rings... they were hard and chewy (not crispy). It's as if they were fried once, frozen, then fried a 2nd time. Horrible. This will be our last time ordering from Husky. Too many better, fresher options exist. I'm out. read more

Husky Pizza Plainville - Grilled Chicken Grinder - Pizza Near Me - Plainville, Connecticut

Just called to place an order for a turkey grinder. Asked for lettuce, tomatoes, extra mayo, american cheese and hot peppers. The older person that took my order told me a price that was higher than I normally pay. I asked him if the price went up, he said no. I asked if he charged me extra for anything on the sandwich, he said yes. I asked what i was charged extra for and he said the hot peppers. I told him I've been ordering this same grinder for over a year and have never been charged extra for hot peppers. I told him its usually a young guy, early 20s or so, that usually answers the phone and takes my order. His response was and i quote "well that young guy doesn't pay the bills or the lights". I said you know what, cancel my order. There's too many other places around the area to get food from to take that type of attitude, especially from what seemed like the owner. I won't be ordering from Husky Pizza again. read more

Would choose zero stars if allowed. I ordered a roast beef grinder from them. It was suppose to have mayo , cheese and i paid an extra $1.29 for onions. When i went to eat my grinder. There was no mayo, no cheese and no onion. The roast beef was expired, it was slimy and the smell was enough to make you puke. If you want to receive what you order and not get expired food that can make your family very sick, O advise that you do NOT order from them read more

Quick and friendly delivery in the Farmington, Connecticut, area. They deliver to some hotels, which is convenient. I usually order a gyros and a salad for delivery when I am in town. The food is well-packed and still hot or cold, as appropriate, when it arrives. read more

Tried it, definitely not for me. My friends felt it was gross. I don't think we're going here again. But hey, to each their own. Much better options located around the same area. The perks of plainville. There's like 7 other pizzerias. read more

I've been putting off this review for a while, but I can't after today's lovely experience. Literally everything on the menu is spectacular. I've actually never been inside the restaurant, and only ordered delivery because I live close. The pizza is spectacular The pasta dinners are delicious. The fried food is always made fresh I highly recommend the curly fries w/ cheese, potato skins, and fried dough. Seriously though, you can't go wrong with theses guys. They're way underpriced for the quality you get, and the service. read more

My Hawaiian pizza was very greasy, dough too thin and had very little pineapples. The crust was burnt on the edges and chewy, the whole Pizza just didn't taste fresh. I placed the order on Eat24 and requested crushed red pepper, Parmesan, napkins and paper plates, and I received neither of those things. Overall, I was very dissatisfied with the food and with the service I received. read more

The pizza was really tasty, but my order was cold when it was finally delivered. What was estimated as a 40-50 minute delivery ended up being about 90 minutes. I called the restaurant after an hour and 20 minutes since I ordered and was told the delivery driver left 40 minutes earlier - - no apologies from the restaurant for the length of time the order was out for delivery, knowing the order would not be hot. read more

Very tasty food but I can't give 4 stars due to poor service. We ordered. First came my French fries (yummy) but NOT my meal. 5minutes later my daughter's meal arrived. 5 more minutes and my sub arrived followed shortly by my son's pizza. Drinks are from a self-serve cooler, had to buy water, no tap water available. Basically the place is for take-out or delivery ONLY, the booths must be left over from a previous tenant because the staff has NO IDEA how to serve customers in their shop. They were NOT rude, just oblivious. Again, food was very tasty and prices reasonable. I would order or take out again but not dine-in. read more

This is my go-to grinder place! The bread they use is beautifully golden and crunchy/crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Perfect and reminds me of my old haunts: New York delis! I usually order chicken cutlet with lettuce and mayo. I'm picky about my food and their chicken is delicious. Simple breaded chicken (NOT greasy!) with seasoned breadcrumbs chopped for ease of eating on a grinder. The lettuce is sliced into strips (my favorite!) and they don't use too much mayo. My husband orders the Italian Combo and enjoys it. Perfect grinder every time and my husband and I like their cheese pizza also. We haven't tried other foods yet, but certainly plan on it. Recommend to all, particularly for grinders! read more

Flag!!! Do not go. Large pizza is only 15". A one topping pizza cost me 25.99 instead of "12.99+" listed on the menu. Two of the slices had no topping at all. Skimpy like crazy on the cheese. Its actually bad pizza to boot. Had I gone to Rocky Hill Pizza I could have had TWO one topping 18" pizzas for $27.00. I could have also chosen a chicken Alfredo sheet for $20.00. Husky is a terrible rip off. I have no idea why anyone would go there. Do not go !! read more

Found this place online because I really wanted a gyro, but I really didn't want to drive. This was one of the few places that had gyros, was currently delivering, and that I could hit the minimum order amount without having to order extra stuff I didn't want. I ordered online, got the gyro delux, which came with salad and fries and I specified "no tomatoes." I also decided to opt for some dessert and got tiramisu. I was pleasantly surprised to see the salad included dolmades, feta, and pepperoncini, but not tomatoes. It was tasty, and then I moved on to the gyro, which was covered in tomatoes... teeny chopped up bits of tomatoes mixed in with chopped bits of lettuce and onion. Luckily, I am not allergic, it's just a taste preference, so I started the tedious task of picking through the mess to get rid of all the tomato bits. I was fairly annoyed by the time I got to eat my gyro, but it was tasty. Portions were large- I am full from just the salad and gyro, only had a couple of fries, and I have to save the tiramisu for later. I'd be willing to give them another shot, hopefully they will get my order right next time. read more

We order delivery & I have never had any issues! Everything is accurate & we call in for free delivery instead of ordering online & there has never been a lengthy wait time for deliveries & I live a town over in Bristol. I love their veggie grinders - the bread is awesome & the cucumbers are AMAZING!!!! (Very thick & juicy instead of the thinly sliced crap you get at a Subway) read more

Husky Pizza Plainville - Spaghetti and meatballs - Pizza Near Me - Plainville, Connecticut

Yet another once excellent restaurant bites the dust. Lately they just can't seem to get it together. They can't get an order right for anything. I order grinders without cheese for my boyfriend and there's cheese on them (the steak grinder has cheese all throughout it so it's not like you can just pick it off). And yesterday took the cake. I ordered my favorite pizza, the Bruno special with no mushrooms. Simple enough, i always order it. They read the order back to me on the phone, and when i got there. But, alas, it had mushrooms on it. This particular pizza also comes with baked potato on it. They must have ran out because instead of baked potato they put french fries. It was interesting eating a pizza with fries on it. It just seemed a bit odd and disappointing. Oh well. Guess i have to find another pizza place since they can't manage to get an order right. read more

This place has really good food. Especially the grinders and Pizzas but the last three times i ordered online they just up and cancelled my orders. Seems the only app you can use is the one where the delivery charge is 2.00 instead of free and the upped lunch grinder price from 7.95 to 9.99. Im not sure if that was the real reason but its highly annoying. , read more

Not good in any way. Pizza bland and bad taste. Same with the chicken parm and spaghetti and meatballs. The Greek salad looked good but the Greek dressing was horrible. Also the chicken parm had broken plastic in the noddles. read more

New York style pizza made to order or by the slice. I like it! Wish i'd found it more than 2 weeks before leaving town though.

Located in Olde Canal Square, just next to Walgreens. Best pizza in Plainville, if you ask me. I've had the veggie, the sausage and the plain cheese, and they were all full of thin crust deliciousness. Very friendly folks. I work in the same plaza, so I appreciate the by-the-slice lunch specials too! Mm, now I'm hungry. read more

This place is an absolute dump. The pizza is not good (no flavor, greasy, etc.), the place is dirty (and I mean filthy), and the people are just not nice. They have bad attitudes and are mean. Oh, and they charge you to use your credit card. Hard pass. If you are really hungry, walk a couple of doors down and get a bagel. But stay away from this dump and the mean people who run it. read more

To start, the shop isn't air conditioned. They had a 2 slices + can of soda for $4.99 that my husband and I got. The pizza looked okay, but when served was clearly not fresh. I asked them not to overheat it, but when it came to the table it was overcooked and too hot to eat. The server was nice enough, but was a lot more interested in talking with 2 female friends sitting in the shop. He sat at their table and talked on their phone while our pizza got overcooked. To make it worse, about an hour after I ate the pizza (and I could only eat about 1 1/3 slice), I had horrible stomach cramps and became really nauseated. I guess you get what you pay for both in quality and service. I definitely won't be going back. read more

I've ordered delivery from here twice. Chicken parm with linguini was great, huge portion, would definitely order again. The Sergio's Extravaganza pizza would be better without the canned spinach (-1 star), but the whole wheat crust is awesome. Quick delivery. read more

Lived in Plainville for a few years now and never eaten here. Decided to give it a try for lunch. During a hot week we decided to order two wraps. It has take. 30 mins for them to make it when there is no one else in the restaurant. The two young men there were busy chatting with friends who were sitting at a table. Meanwhile I sit and wait for my two wraps that I could have made in 5 mins at home. By the time we got our wraps the lettuce inside was wilted and soggy. Won't be coming here again. read more

'The Works' pizza is the best pizza I've had in many years. Not a fan of the grinders. The 'Sergio's Salad' is good but would love darker greens instead of all iceburg lettuce. The service has always been friendly and the delivery timely with food nice and hot. read more

Meatball grinder was great. Service was non existent. I had to leave the booth and go to the counter to place my order, as the 4 employees behind the counter just ignored me. I had to get up and ask for a soda, then I had to go back to the counter to pay. And the counter woman did not even know what I had. Very unfriendly and unprofessional. As many pizza places there are in Plainville this is one of the best I've had in years. Not only was the pizza awesome and delicious but it was delivered hot. Not cold or luke warm but nice and hot as if it came right out of the oven. The delivery time was very soon after ordering and the price was very reasonable for what we ordered. read more

I moved back to Plainville about a yr ago and have ordered Sergios from time to time. I decided to use them for a an event at my work (a kids team sleepover) & I ordered 3 party sized pizzas. The cost was $85. When I told my boss the amount she said that is way too much to pay for pizza & to call Big Y. I called big Y and I was able to get much more pizza for $35 less. I caled Sergios back w/in 12 mins of the 1st phone call and said I wanted to cancel my order. I was put on the phone with the person in charge who gruffly told me that my pizzas were already made. This surprised me as my pick up time was two hours away. He sharply explained that the toppings were on my pizzas and they were in the freezer. I made the decision to honor my order & to pay for the pizza myself. My whole reason for wanting to go to Sergios in the first place was to support local business versus using a big chain. The Sergios employee said they would take $5 off. I called Big Y back and canceled my order. When I went to pick up my pizza at 6:30, I did not even get a smile ffrom the employee's. They were rude, brusk and again spoke very sharply to me. I was dissapointed by this because, I could have just cancled and left them hanging with all this pizza, but instead I was paying A LOT of money for pizza. I'm feeling pretty lousy at this point, however am still holding out hope for a happy ending as me and the kids were starving and excited to eat. After all of the lead up to this moment, I take a bite and it is cold and dry. It was awful. The white pizza was disgusting, the kids left the cheese pizza and said it was the worst they ever had. These are kids and it is cheese pizza. How can that go wrong? The pinnaple and ham pizza was decent because it was moist. The next day around 3:00 when our sleepover and outing were over my boss called Sergios and told them about the pizza being dry and cold. She was spoken to very rudely, told basically that she was lying and only calling becuase I had wanted to cancel the order and that she was too late in reporting it, that we only had 24 hours. Well, it was not 24 hours from when I placed the order and we were very busy at the sleepover and called as soon as the event was over. This entire experience has left me feeling very sad and upset. I grew up in town and always try to use a small, local business any time I can. My family had stores here Plainville that I worked in as a kid. Those stores no longer exist becuase of big box stores. I was taught to appreciate my customers, to speak kindly to them and most importantly to believe them. Me and my boss had no reason to lie about the quality of the pizza. I could have gone to Big Y and blown Sergios off, but I didn't when they said the pizzas were already in the freezer. I think the folks at Sergios need to step back and remember that their customers have a lot of choices and not to speak to good people so rudely. I will continue to buy my pizza from the small, local guy, however it will NEVER be from Sergios EVER again. Word of mouth goes a long way in a small town. I am in a role where I coach a lot of kids and get to talk to a lot of parents. I promise to share this story and deter people from going to Sergios. A simple, "hey, I am sorry your pizza was dry and cold, can we provide you with a pizza for your next event" or "here's your money back" etc, anything would have been better than how they handled it, even a genuine, simple, "I;m sorry". read more
