All the bad reviews are from several years ago. The customer service is great - they always are looking for people that need help from the minute you walk in. Their selection in the plumbing section (gas piping) was better than Home Depot's. They also have a great selection of other things from Home decor, to fishing, clothes, and a gun counter. Value is decent, not super cheap but I see value in customer service and not having to walk through aisles and aisles before finding what you want. read more

I've had a gas grill that I've been unable to connect to my RV for over a year. It's been an absolute nightmare to attempt to get all of the proper connections. I brought in my pieces today and Joe greeted me at the counter and we worked the problem until the solution was found. It took several different stops in several different locations, but, Joe helped me piece it all together, got me the teflon tape I needed to be safe and after I brought it all home, my grill is finally working! Thank you Joe and the entire team over at Ace Hardware! You guys and gals are absolutely AWESOME! And even though the prices are higher than other places, the service MORE than makes up for it! read more

I had to get a crimp for a rope and needed help to find the right part. I was helped by Art A. who spent a lot of time to find the part in the special drawers. The part needed was slightly too small for the rope diameter and he drilled it out to fit and then crimped the part onto the rope with a special tool. Lots of employees, very little customer service. Walked in, waited for the cashier and the other 2 employees to finish their personal discussion. Finally i was able to ask if they carry small/closet storage racks. I was referred to the back of the store to customer service counter where there were 3 more employees, all men, who never spoke to me, they continued to talk among themselves and then the phone rang - one answered the call (I'm still waiting, in person at the desk), and the one asks if any of them know the best coating for a deck. They get into a discussion about that and I turn and walk out the store. I like to use smaller, local businesses when I can, but there is only one thing to say about this.... HOME DEPOT. Or, worse/better depending on your view.....AMAZON. read more

I haven't really ever been in a full sized Ace Hardware store. My sister and I had a slight heater vent emergency so we headed over to the hardware store for one screw and a pack of double sided sticky something or other. It's gonna stay on the wall. I was pleasantly surprised by the wide array of products offered. Yes, there is hardware, and yes, we we able to purchase the ONE screw that we wanted, for 10 cents, without having to purchase a whole pack, but there is also a fabric section with some of the cutest fabrics I have seen recently. Also, candy. We didn't explore the whole store, but it was clean, organized and the associates were all very helpful and friendly. I wish this store was near me. One thing, and it's probably just me cause I can be lame, but the sign is giant and out on the edge of the street next to a building. That building is NOT Ace. Ace is the gigantic store back behind the gas pumps and the big parking lot with the letters A-C-E on it. I drove right by it. read more

I ordered snowboards online and they said before Christmas and then it wasn't going to make it so I canceled my order through customer service on December 23 before they shipped the order or took the money out of my account and a week after I canceled it they still pulled the money out of my account and I didn't even get the snowboards. I still haven't got my refund. So no snowboards and they still charged me. Horrible Customer service and technically they stole my money and haven't returned it. I will have to go through my bank to get it back. read more

There were a few employees that were kind and helpful. And it was the biggest Ace I've been to and I absolutely love supporting them. With that said, two items that I purchased clearly said "$1 only" so I got them and was charged full price. I went back in upon realizing it, so they did a price check and the person who went to look said it was a dollar off. I went to look for myself and the tag that read the markdown had been removed. The Manager (Zane) of the Sports Center Dept. Needs to improve his customer service skillls. Just because they have the only bow shop in town, he seems to think that it gives him the right to be lazy, arrogant and condescending. I emailed the Store General Manager to get some kind of resolution, and all I got was excuses. I am a member of a large archery club in my area, I will strongly suggest to my fellow members when in the Cedar City area to go elsewhere for all there archery/hunting needs. read more

Spoke to a man in sporting goods; I told him that I would buy two muzzle loader rifles if he could work a deal with me. He laughed and told me to go somewhere else. I am on my way to Sportsmans Warehouse where the man behind the counter is willing to give me 10% off. I guess buying local in St George isn't important to the business owners anymore. read more
