We rolled in here on a Friday night, about 9pm, and were pleasantly surprised it wasn't too full. After a horribly bumpy flight from California, all I wanted was a drink and comfort food, without a long wait. My buddy suggested Hurricane Grill, which was exactly what I needed. I love sports bars because sometimes I just don't want intelligent conversation, and instead want to get in touch with my inner caveman and watch football teams beat each other up over 10 yard increments. Service was sweet, though not the most intelligent. I asked if they had any wheat beer, and while cute, our server pretty much swore they didn't have any. I then saw Allagash White on the chalk board, and ordered that. She was cute, and sweetness in a sports bar will always trump smart with attitude. I asked what her recommendation was, and being an original Philly girl, swore the cheesesteak was the way to go (she was right.... it really hit the spot... at least she knew her food menu). Our server was extremely attentive and so nice!! I got the crispy chicken sandwich with medium sauce on it and it was sooo good with the sauce added - they tossed the chicken in sauce and I would highly recommend. Cooked absolutely perfectly and super crispy. French fries were goooood!!! The wing prices are a little ridiculous but that's been standard with all wing places now so nothing against Hurricanes! We went to Hurricane Grill & Wings last night for dinner and were pleasantly surprised! Although very busy, we were seated immediately by a friendly hostess. We ordered drinks, appetizer, and entrees. I was very pleased to see Landshark beer on tap which is what I immediately ordered. The server was friendly and attentive to us. As we waited for our appetizer, we were approached by Richard who was conducting Music Bingo starting at 7. Although we were only planning on dinner and to then go home- we decided to give it a try. We ended up having a great time and stayed until after 9 with me of course enjoying a few more Landsharks since I wasn't driving. We didn't win the Bingo, but had a fun time playing and singing along to the many great song choices. We have decided to make this our Thursday night activity and will return. Music Bingo aside, Chrissy had a Calypso seafood bowl with mahi mahi and shrimp that was fantastic, and I had a mushroom Swiss burger that melted in my mouth. The pretzel bites didn't last long either. A great job in the kitchen with delicious and quality food that was sent out expeditiously. To top it off, the manager came by to chat with us and ensure we were happy. He truly cares about the customers. All of the staff we interacted with and observed were very friendly, engaged, and smiling. Even the other patrons were enjoying themselves and the entire experience was so positive. After leaving the movies yesterday, I was in the mood for a chicken wrap. What better place to try out than a restaurant that specializes in chicken and was even within walking distance? Hurricane Grill and Wings had been on my radar for a long time, and now I finally had the perfect opportunity to check it out. Located in the heart of Fleming Island, similar to some other places I've reviewed over the past year, the business is in a great spot no matter whether you're looking for a spot to watch sports or grab a quick bite to eat while out running errands. I walked in and was immediately greeted by the hostess who got me seated and arranged for the waitress to come by within 2 minutes. I chose to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful weather North Florida's having now that it's finally starting to cool off a little (comparatively). It was also a little quieter too with a good view of three separate football games... at least until a family with a baby chose to sit at the table right next to me. Nevertheless, I didn't let that bother me and continued to enjoy the games while also getting some online Christmas shopping done. For the order itself, I chose a staple Blue Moon along with the Cancún Chicken Wrap served with natural-cut fries. This was exactly what I was looking for, and the meal hit the spot. The tortilla was grilled perfectly crispy on the sides, and the fries needed no additional sauces or seasonings to make them better. Perhaps the only thing that could have made the wrap better would have been a choice of sauce (aside from the sriracha ranch offered) or a side of sauce/salsa included in the meal. Service remained great throughout the meal with my assigned waitress checking on me multiple times to ensure that my drinks were filled and that I did not need anything else. She was also very knowledgeable on the restaurants numerous drink options. Give this place a shot and you won't be disappointed! read more

I have been to this location twice. On the first visit, the chicken fajita bowl was so delicious, so I ordered the same item again. Hurricanes has always been a favorite of mine....I think it's their kettle chips and their hot teriyaki this location has always been great - the bartenders and servers are knowledgeable and friendly. They usually have good drink specials as well, any time I've been there. The best tip I can give is to make sure you dip the kettle chips in the garlic parm sauce! read more

HORRIBLE SERVICE! The young gal had NO idea what she was doing. Got our drinks wrong and the third time I just took it up to the bar myself and asked for the right one. Was not rude but just so darn unknowledgeable about the restaurant that it came across rude. Told me they didn't have a happy hour (they did till 6:30) told us they didn't have chicken....what?!? Lol they do, didn't bring the condiments brought three sets of silverware for 6 people. Told me the pretzel with the trio dips were all in one and there was no trio, even with the pic right in front of her. No manager ever came to check on us almost 2 hours later we left that's how slow it was for have less than 20 customers at the time in the whole restaurant. Came here with friends after a play. The place wasn't busy, but our server was frazzled because she had to deal with every other table. My wife and I got 10 wings and garlic parm fries. The wings were good and the fries were too, but they were way under seasoned. Hardly any garlic parm on them. My friends got the appetizer sampler and it was just okay. The mozzarella sticks were a bit on the cold side and they didn't really eat much of it. It just seemed less fresh than I'm typically used to to at most Hurricane locations I've been to. It was about 9:30 pm on a Saturday night, so I guess they were probably just tired. Hurricane G&W has your typical bar food like chicken wings, chicken tenders, garlic parmesan fries, fish tacos, nachos, salads and burgers. Don't get me wrong. There is nothing wrong with bar food, because I have had 5 STAR FOOD at a couple of bars. Unfortunately, this place just isn't one of them. The service here is unremarkable. Not terrible, but not super friendly. Having limited choices in Fleming Island, I'm grateful one can at least come here for some beer and wings. Parking can be challenging at times, but not impossible. This is a good place to bring the kids if they are into video games. My nephew had his birthday party here and they allowed us to bring in a cake from the local supermarket at no extra charge. That was cool of them. Overall, this is a popular place among the "island" locals. There is outside seating which is nice for when the weather is cooler and those who want to enjoy a smoke while they drink. First off, I ordered 10 wings tossed in Buffalo and got what looks like half eaten wings. There was no meat on the bone. My husband ordered a burger, and wanted it medium well and got it basically rare as pictured. We then also paid $13 for the perfect storm app to not even receive Marinera sauce or the firecracker shrimp sauce. I did not order Plain shrimp. We went for a "Friends Theme Trivia" , the restaurant was open to normal patrons as well as the paid guest for the trivia, it was very much over run with a hunger crowd, so this review may not reflect the normal service you would get, so keep that in mind. The staff was ok, you could tell they were running had and stretched thin, it took time to get our order in and any additional service during the night, the food was just ok, took a long time and wasn't great, just ok. It was very hard to hear the Trivia during the game, I think the Trivia company could have done better on there end to prepare, and the restaurant maybe should have limited the seating or only for those that Paid to play the game, just too much going on. but i do think in a normal instance this location would be a great place to eat. So, I wrote a review of the Fleming Island Hurricane's Grill a few years ago, but felt it needed an update. I frequent this place with a few friends, and we usually come Wednesday nights for Trivia. The good: Good bar food, including delicious wings, for great prices. Generally clean inside. Fun trivia on Wednesday nights. Cheap happy hour on sangria, wines, and draft beers. The meh: While the servers are incredibly sweet, I think they are routinely understaffed. This means that I usually don't get my water cup refilled, it takes 15 minutes for my basic draft beer, servers are stepping in for other servers and confusing the orders. All of the girls who work here look stressed as heck. The bad: I've literally had to wait 30 minutes for my check before. Also the bathrooms seem to always have a line. The coleslaw here should be illegal. The menu is incredibly misleading and you will be charged for items under the "freebie" section. read more
