We have been coming as a family with Dr Ertl for over 10 years since we moved to Mira Mesa…read more Excellent service, referrals, diagnosis. This is for a middle aged male, female and our young adult son.

I want to start off by saying that I have been a patient with Dr Ertl for almost 10 years. She is…read morean amazing provider and I have had absolutely zero issues with her as a doctor. She is absolutely amazing and listens to her patients and lets them set the pace. However, the issue that I have is with everyone else at the practice. First issue: I started a new medication that required a pre-authorization from my insurance. That can be a little daunting with insurance companies I understand but it took me two solid months to get the pre-approval and it wasn't my insurance fault because they approved it within days of actually getting the proper paperwork. The first issue with that was that for some reason the clinic put an address down on my paperwork that I haven't lived at in over 5 years. I update my address with the doctor's office every single time I move and I verify it at every appointment because they asked if anything has changed. I wasted weeks trying to get this figured out. The second issue with this instance: the frustrating thing is that I called multiple times a week and left multiple voicemails with no response until I finally started getting upset which is when they finally called me and ended up getting it fixed. The next thing is what actually caused me to switch to a different PCM because I can't do this anymore. I requested that my prescription be switched over to Express Scripts because of the cost difference. I requested over the phone for the doctor's office to send in the prescription to Express Scripts which they did not. I then was able to get Express Scripts to send a fax over to the doctor's office so all they had to do was fill the paperwork out and send it back. They did not do that either. It took so long without a response that Express Scripts ended up just canceling the entire order because they didn't receive anything from the doctor's office. I then did it a second time period with absolutely no response either. With both of these prescription requests I called over and over and over again and left multiple voicemails with maybe every fourth phone call being returned. About a week and a half ago I called and left a very long voicemail complaining about this situation and someone finally called me back and said that the medical assistant that was supposed to be in charge of filling the prescriptions had zero notes on anything that I had said in the past about this prescription. I checked my electronic medical record through Dr Ertl's office and lo and behold the request from Express Scripts was faxed to the doctor's office, uploaded to my medical record, not filled out, and then blatantly ignored because they never sent it in even though it says to respond within 48 hours.

If you're Filipino, and just want a Filipino doctor, then this may be the doctor for you. Anyone…read moreelse is not really welcome here. If you doubt whether Dr. Razon is a racist, just one visit will confirm my claim. Her skills as a physician don't seem very comprehensive. For instance, I have hypogonadism, which is a fairly common, lifelong condition that occurs in men. Dr Razon is the firsf doctor I have ever seen who had absolutely no idea what hypogonadism is, and likewise what medication to prescribe for it. If that weren't enough, she shuttered her business during this pandemic while still collecting from insurance companies as if she was still seeing patients. That being said, I think it's time for me to order a phd degree from the school she went to so I can start my own pratice. Hey, it worked for her, right? So sorry I cant give zero stars!

She needs to be put out of business and reported to the medical board to have her license revoked…read more I say this wholeheartedly. The doctor wouldn't allow me to see my medical records "because it's the law." I asked, "Which law?" and the woman told me to look it up online. If I'm being diagnosed and treated by a doc, they better damn well know the laws related to their practice. Not only that -- she berated me, saying I wouldn't understand what was in my file because I'm "not a nurse, not a doctor" (she's wasn't being professional whilst addressing this). She created quite the scene, stating all this in a raised, angry tone in front of her sub-par staff (communication lacking) and waiting patients in the small, cramped waiting room. FYI -- her entire office needs new literature and posters (shits been there for 20+ years). I called every medical organization I could immediately following the incident. I was advised and had written a formal request for my records with postal certification/signature required but not long after I received the confirmation my purse was stolen along with the documentation (what luck, right?). In any case, she never replied back (by phone or mail) even though she had signed for receipt of the letter and I still do not have my medical records. Needless to say, I do not trust this woman. I absolutely did not appreciate my own medical history and information being withheld from me. She was unprofessional, ignorant, and demeaning. As a family doctor, I'm appalled that I was ever under her care as a child. She recalled more about my family's dysfunction and relations than my own personal health history. My wife was going through some serious variety of symptoms which if we would have gone to a place like Scripps, we would have ended up doing a lot of tests with less chances of proper diagnosis and resolution because that is what our experiences has been for the last 20 years. Dr. Neil did all diagnosis and tests very efficiently, provided expedited treatment and medicine to address the root cause of the problem which saved us from months of diagnosis and lot of expenses and time. I would very highly recommend Dr. Neil. It is very rare to find an exceptionally good and effective doctor this days like Dr. Neil with 44 years of medical practice experience.

I was…read moreasking about a specific medication and she kept referring to another medication I was also prescribed. I wanted to be clear on what we were talking about so I kept telling her that I was trying to be clear. I guess I "almost made her cry" ?? HAHAHA. That's a new one on me. From the other side of the phone, trying to be clear on medication and she was almost crying? I should have been the one crying. I guess she went crying to the doctor who came on the phone, told me she almost cried. She is supposed to be a professional? What a pathetic individual and she clearly should find another field to work in. Medicine is nothing to be cavalier about and that she was offended that I was trying to be clear and not use the wrong medication is wildly absurd.

They want detail about my experience as a customer? Buckle up! First appointment was horrible…read more Doctor and some MA came in. No bedside manner. When I had to reveal parts of my body to show inflammation, that's when the MA looked up and at my body (completely unprofessional), given the doctor tells them exactly what part of the body for them to document, which is their only job. Them looking, is not necessary at all. Oh man if I had my husband with me, they definitely wouldn't look up from their notes. They're MA's for crying out loud. They just document what MD says. Also, per any operating business, they prescribe medication, bc medication causes side effects that lead to more appointments and more money. Next appointment I see another doctor who must have mistaken me for another patient, bc I've never seen her in my life. & what do you know, she gives samples of topical steroids. And prescribes more unnecessary ointments that CONTRADICT each other and are not to be used at the same time. Did the MD bother to check? Nope. Oh and their "contracts" that you sign in the beginning does not specify any charge of messaging/emailing the doctor. Cuz guess what? Those emails are the same price as an appointment and they do not tell you, they bill you. And harass you every single day. The same Karen they refuse to fire in all the one star comments below. If they removed my original review, imagine how much time they have in their hands to literally go through these yelp comments and request that it be removed!!!! Pathetic!!!!!!! I stand by my original review. Report them to your insurance. And when the time comes that this practice does this to THE one, don't forget to add us to the class action lawsuit. Not just for medical malpractice and negligence, but also civil lawsuit for FRAUD! Dermatology clinics can charge patients for email consultations, but they are legally required to inform patients beforehand about potential charges!!! If Yelp is as honest as they can be, they won't let businesses like this one flag and remove negative reviews that can literally save a patient who needs to find a real dermatology clinic and see real reviews. Not filtered ones. For the patients suffering with skin conditions, please do yourself a favor, do not go here. "Quick fixes" are temporary, it comes back & worse than before. Steroid ointments aren't it!!!!!! Please go to a reputable practice with doctors that don't just give you prescriptions within 3 min of your appointment.
