Huron Meadows is an attractive, very well maintained 18-hole tract on gently rolling terrain in rural Livingston County. I found the Par 72 course to be quite forgiving with fairly wide fairways, a limited number of sand traps, generous-sized greens and minimal water hazards. The back tees come in at 6,663 yards. Our foursome enjoyed unseasonably warm temps in the mid 60s for our round in this first full week in November. One birdie and three pars later, we were enjoying a cold one in the clubhouse. Enjoyable round at very reasonable off-season green fees of $18 with cart. Fore!...stars.

Not only unfriendly, but curt and accusing us of going against park rules with a couple kids with us without confirming with Ron. She actually came running out of the clubhouse! Her approach was unwarranted. If it wasn't for her, I would give this course 5 stars. It is beautiful and well maintained. We love golfing here.

Their…read moreexcuse was that a 'disgruntled ex-employee' deleted some bookings and now they have a much larger outing (28 person vs 144 person) that just happened to get scheduled in the now open time slot. Their offer of compensation to 'show how important our business is'.... one (1) round for a 4-some with a cart and lunch for scheduling a bigger outing instead of honoring their original commitment. Instead of shifting when the larger outing started, we're only seven (7) tee times, they simply cancelled ours. I work at another course and I know that a 144 person outing doesn't just pop up three (3) days before the outing. They knew for quite some time. That really sucks. We decided on going to a different course instead of taking their offer to push it back 2 weeks because many could not make the rescheduled offer, and quite honestly, don't want to give Moose Ridge our money for treating us so poorly. I understand that they are a business, but treating (potential) customers like that is not good business in the long run. They have lost repeat customers, some already repeat customers, for life.

It's very welcoming and because of the number of golf and social events it's easy to meet other members. But what makes Lakelands special is the staff. They work hard at keeping the club professional but relaxed and offering up good food, drink, golf and an environment that feels like an oasis from the daily grind. The golf course is almost always in wonderful shape despite a good amount of play and while it's short it is an excellent track for match play or to work on shots you don't find at other courses. Almost every hole has multiple options for how to play it to accommodate any caliber of play.

Extremely Disappointing Experience! Poor management and inconsistent standards. This was hands down…read morethe worst golf course experience I've ever had. From start to finish, we were essentially shadowed by the course ranger (picture attached), who approached us four separate times accusing us of slow play, despite us doing everything we could to keep pace. We immediately allowed a single player behind us to play through. When asked, we also let a scramble group behind us pass... even though scramble formats typically understand there will be occasional waiting. Yes, we had 5 players (we paid for all 5) but to avoid slowing anyone down, only 3/4 of us played each hole. Two of our newer players only played two holes each total, again, to keep up the pace of play. We explained this to the ranger multiple times. He didn't care. Instead, on the 8th hole, he told us that management wanted us to split up for the 9th hole. Of course we agreed but that made no sense and actually slowed us down more than our original system. The part that really highlighted the inconsistency: while we were being micromanaged for simply playing respectfully, we also witnessed a grown man screaming obscenities at the top of his lungs and throwing his club repeatedly. There were kids on the course, yet the ranger seemed completely unbothered by that behavior. In short, we did everything right, let others play through, limited how many of us were hitting, and prioritized pace of play. But we were still treated like a problem, while actual disruptive behavior went unchecked. We won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone who values respectful play and fair treatment.

As one of the few minority members of the club, I get picked on all the time at the pickleball courts where I am harassed to see if I am a member or if my guests are members. It is extremely rude how they confront my guests and it causes a great deal of embarrassment for me and uncomfortableness for my guests. They do not ask other groups if they are members of Oak Pointe because these groups are Caucasians. The pickleball courts are also largely unavailable from 10-2 during the summer because the tennis pro is too lazy to move his gear to the lower dedicated tennis courts and instead uses the pickleball courts to give his lessons. I only joined Oak Pointe last year to use the pool and pickleball courts as I don't golf but it has been one harassment after another. I plan to cancel my membership in the winter and would not recommend Oak Pointe to anyone. The food is also less than stellar and has lots of room for improvement.
