Huron Meadows is an attractive, very well maintained 18-hole tract on gently rolling terrain in rural Livingston County. I found the Par 72 course to be quite forgiving with fairly wide fairways, a limited number of sand traps, generous-sized greens and minimal water hazards. The back tees come in at 6,663 yards. Our foursome enjoyed unseasonably warm temps in the mid 60s for our round in this first full week in November. One birdie and three pars later, we were enjoying a cold one in the clubhouse. Enjoyable round at very reasonable off-season green fees of $18 with cart. Fore!...stars.

Lakelands is a unique club. It has a lot of families who are second generation coupled with a lot…read moreof new-to-the-area people. It's very welcoming and because of the number of golf and social events it's easy to meet other members. But what makes Lakelands special is the staff. They work hard at keeping the club professional but relaxed and offering up good food, drink, golf and an environment that feels like an oasis from the daily grind. The golf course is almost always in wonderful shape despite a good amount of play and while it's short it is an excellent track for match play or to work on shots you don't find at other courses. Almost every hole has multiple options for how to play it to accommodate any caliber of play.

Extremely Disappointing Experience! Poor management and inconsistent standards. This was hands down…read morethe worst golf course experience I've ever had. From start to finish, we were essentially shadowed by the course ranger (picture attached), who approached us four separate times accusing us of slow play, despite us doing everything we could to keep pace. We immediately allowed a single player behind us to play through. When asked, we also let a scramble group behind us pass... even though scramble formats typically understand there will be occasional waiting. Yes, we had 5 players (we paid for all 5) but to avoid slowing anyone down, only 3/4 of us played each hole. Two of our newer players only played two holes each total, again, to keep up the pace of play. We explained this to the ranger multiple times. He didn't care. Instead, on the 8th hole, he told us that management wanted us to split up for the 9th hole. Of course we agreed but that made no sense and actually slowed us down more than our original system. The part that really highlighted the inconsistency: while we were being micromanaged for simply playing respectfully, we also witnessed a grown man screaming obscenities at the top of his lungs and throwing his club repeatedly. There were kids on the course, yet the ranger seemed completely unbothered by that behavior. In short, we did everything right, let others play through, limited how many of us were hitting, and prioritized pace of play. But we were still treated like a problem, while actual disruptive behavior went unchecked. We won't be returning, and I wouldn't recommend this course to anyone who values respectful play and fair treatment.

The regulars golfing are rude and take everything so seriously, the place is low end and they all act like it's a pro place. The regulars there need to learn how to calm down. Not all of us know how to golf . the staff was super kind and helpful. the course had a amazing view of the water. The food there was really good.
