Greens were very slow from what I recall, and on-course speed didn't match the small putting green at all. Took about 4 holes to get accustomed to the speed. They were in good shape, though. They seemed to have a few of the blue tee markers pushed up to the whites since the yardage wasn't close to the card. Not a biggie, but if this is a common occurrence they should re-rate the course and print up new cards so it's accurate. There are many of us who carry official USGA handicaps, so this stuff does matter. Cards seemed like they were brand new, very nice!

They walk you through setup and everything to get you going. Very nice to stop in and hit the clubs while the kids are at practice or the family is shopping. The winter league here was a lot of fun, run extremely well and all the workers were awesome. On top of that, our 20 person group moved our winter sim golf classic here from On The Dunes and had a great time. Carolyn was totally accommodating, set everything up for us and went above and beyond. The majority of our group wanted the move to become permanent. I can't say enough great things about this X-Golf location!

Just my buddies, my clubs, perfectly trimmed greens and fairways, the sounds of nature, the mosquito's, and for some reason I can't stop thinking about Tiger Woods after all the scandal publicity!! When my golf buddies and I head out for the links we are usually drawn to Tanglewood, even though there are about 100 other golf courses in between us. I think its the whole package, perfectly kept greens and fairways, friendly staff, and the golf carts aren't all hoopty. My favorite hole is west 8, it's shaped like the Michigan glove, and has the mini Mackinac bridge to get to the green. It's kinda cool, not to mention I usually par or birdie it so quite naturally I'll like it the most. My philosophy is, if the course is top notch the green fee shouldn't matter. It's $49 for 18 with a cart... hold on, hold on... yeah it's a little pricey but trust me it's worth every penny. They do have spring and fall rates like all the other clubs do, and is priced the same as them. Which means... if your gonna spend the duckets to play, you might as well go to a nice course. The club house is really nice and often times they have some sort of wedding or banquet going on, which tells you how nice it really is. After you have failed to achieve par for the course, take a load off in the Tanglewood restaurant and have some cocktails and some great food. Try one of their burgers or the ribs. Really good!

I am a golfer who is considerate of other golfers, fixes ball marks, rakes sand traps, lets faster players play through and loves golf. Last time out there, to take advantage of an end of season special rate, my partner and I were told we could not get on, no reservation. Then we were told we could get on in 50 minutes so we paid and went to putt. Then Ron came out and said the front 9 was closed. No one on the tee for at least 15 minutes and an not much activity anywhere. By the time our tee time was five minutes away 6 carts were waiting at the tee. By the way with only one nine open when you make the turn you will probably be behind all those trying to start their rounds. Not much of a special and we went to play another course and got in 27 holes for $15 with a cart and had a great time with no stress. Other reviews on line mention Ron if you look.
