This review isn't related the the golfing there. We attended a wedding there this past weekend. Not…read moreonly was the room beautiful and the service great, but the food was excellent, as well. My only complaint was that the stir fry section slowed the buffet line down a lot. Since we were last to eat it was a long wait, and other people were finished long before we got our food. To be honest, I thought the stir-fry was the weakest part of the meal and I was disappointed that they ran out of the roast beef, because the bit I tasted off my neighbor's plate was so good. The pork they served was really yummy. Beautiful place, I would definitely recommend it to others.

As one of the few minority members of the club, I get picked on all the time at the pickleball courts where I am harassed to see if I am a member or if my guests are members. It is extremely rude how they confront my guests and it causes a great deal of embarrassment for me and uncomfortableness for my guests. They do not ask other groups if they are members of Oak Pointe because these groups are Caucasians. The pickleball courts are also largely unavailable from 10-2 during the summer because the tennis pro is too lazy to move his gear to the lower dedicated tennis courts and instead uses the pickleball courts to give his lessons. I only joined Oak Pointe last year to use the pool and pickleball courts as I don't golf but it has been one harassment after another. I plan to cancel my membership in the winter and would not recommend Oak Pointe to anyone. The food is also less than stellar and has lots of room for improvement.

It was exceptional service and everything was well delivered. John was amazing overseeing the event and checking up on us often. Which was greatly appreciated. Barb was spot on for coordinating the ceremony and helped me when my bridemaids were struggling with my bustle. Valerie was great with answering every question that I could think of to ask. Since pandemic wedding is insanely stressful and sometimes you need someone to bounce ideas off of to make sure your making the right decisions in terms of how the wedding will go. I definitely had a blast. The ceremony was beautiful. Country lane flowers pairs really well with crystal gardens since Edward knows the venue quite well. The celebrity ballroom is beautiful it is well spaced for about 100 people and it has a nice bar inside of it and bathrooms. Blue uplighting and personalized decor seem to be nice touches that you could make to it. I also loved the gold chairs in here. They served nice plated appetizers. We upgraded the bar highly recommend that. We got champagne for toasts which was yummy. I was able to request my favorite wine. The dinner we chose prime rib, herb chicken and vegetarian lasagna plated. It was so good. We got green beans and roasted red potatoes with it. We also got their standard cake they served with their packages that was good I liked it served with the dessert shooters those were a hit. The entree also included salad that was good too. We had pizza served as a late night snack that was delicious as well. If people had issues with their food it was addressed right away and replacements were made. I was impressed with that. I liked that they moved extra tables for their outdoor patio so people could sit out there instead of all inside too. I bought to go containers that I gave to the bar to use for those that did not feel comfortable eating there. So that's another good idea to consider. Music was great and paired nicely with mobile rhythm entertainment for the reception. Everything was wonderful and happy Crystal gardens was able to make my dream wedding a reality.

While planning for our weddings (sisters who each got married six weeks apart!) we came across Pure…read moreand Simple Catering. We met with Steve, Jessica, and the Pure and Simple staff this past summer and felt relieved the moment we sat down. Needless to say, with two back to back weddings, it was a stressful time for our family and we were overwhelmed! Steve, Jessica and team made the process for us, 'purely simple.' Our family firmly believes in working with family owned businesses and supporting our local community. We feel Pure and Simple went above and beyond what was asked of them and gave each of our weddings the warm and caring personalization we desired. One of the most talked about things at our weddings was the food. Neither bride wanted to do the traditional boring chicken/fish/veggies/lumpy potatoes menu. Pure and Simple gave us the option to mix and match different menu items in order to accommodate a wide range of appetites. We are still hearing from our guests how amazing the menus were! Steve and Jessica worked with the first bride to design a roaming dinner menu where guests could wander from station to station and choose from Italian, Asian, and Mediterranean dishes. The second bride desired different dishes from the many menus available through Pure and Simple, and the catering team sat and discussed the various options and combinations available. If it wasn't on the menu, they went to great lengths to see if it was achievable. We can't say enough good things about Steve, Jessica, Heather, Bonnie, and the rest of the Pure and Simple staff. They were professional, flexible, and very easy to talk to. They even came directly to our residence (where the receptions were held) to inspect, come up with a floor plan layout, and to design a system that would allow for the best service possible. We felt confident in their ability to make our weddings memorable and they honestly provided us with a huge sense of relief that some of the planning had been placed in their capable hands. We highly recommend Pure and Simple Catering to others. You won't be disappointed!

They have a nice ballroom here, a view of West Crooked Lake and a has a nice fireplace in the room too. I was here for a wedding tonight. Cocktails and appetizers at 5pm, dinner was at 6pm. Tuna shooters in wonton cups, chicken skewers with peanut sauce and spinach phyllo. I had one chicken skewer, peanut sauce tasted okay, meat quality was garbage. I spit it out and tossed it in the bathroom, it was gristly and fatty too. They also have pre-packed cheese and crackers. They need a bit of work to clean up discarded food items and limes from drinks too. Nowhere to put anything at all. Cocktail closes during the dinner hour. The bread rolls look to be a potato roll, it's slightly sweet, not bad. The Caesar salad looks so sad, tastes okay. My SIL, FIL enjoyed their filet, it was nicely cooked, albeit lacked in flavor. My husband had a few bites of filet too. The salmon came topped with a mustard sauce, it wasn't bad, well cooked. The green beans were perfectly cooked. The penne noodles were soft. The noodles, beans and salmon were a tad oily and greasy. Staff told us there wasn't enough cake to try all 3 kinds of the Marv's cake. They had the chocolate, yellow cake and red velvet cake. I don't buy it. We shared 3 different kinds between my husband, SIL and FIL. Nice view of the sunset from the room over the lake. There's a nice blazing fire pit on their patio too. The venue here is quite nice. Service and food was okay.

Food is wonderful, top-notch. It should be though, considering this is a private club.read more
