Let me tell ya, when you have a very stressful day since 5 AM, without a proper cup of morning joe, it can be quite a stress relief to shoot off a round, or two, or three... of 9mm or .22. Actually, I think I'm one of the few that's allowed in the back shooting range, since I know someone who know someone who runs the place :) Even without the familiarity, the cool and helpful folks here keep this place nice and orderly. If you have a small scale store, that carry dangerous merchandises such as rifles and guns (and pink taser and pink mace) you will definitely have to run a tidy shop. I also give two thumbs up to the knowledge of firearms and ammo. You would never figure by the dingily look from outside. No offense. They also run conceal firearm training course here, with reasonable price, and possible rib lunch on your lucky day! P.S. Sorry, no photos! but trust me, you'll feel all giggly once you step inside, like I did.

I haven't tried their shooting range but I did buy a handgun from here a couple months ago and enjoyed my experience. I even sold a few 1911's here and got what I was asking for them making the process pretty painless and enjoyable. Prices seem to be a little better than most other gun stores around my area so I don't mind the drive. The store is pretty much fully stocked with all kinds of firearms and I have recommended the place to a few of my buddies. The online store is great and easy to navigate but I haven't ordered anything offline yet. Overall I would definitely recommend this gun store to anyone, I look forward to going back whenever I decide what I want to add to my collection.

Going to type this while It is fresh. I figured I would go to the this range for an hour of…read moreshooting. I have been here at least a few times, the last time was earlier this year. This time was way different. Upon approaching the desk and announcing that I wanted to use the range. I was asked if I had a black card. Not sure what that is for. They checked if I was in their database because I said that I had been there before. I am not sure how I feel about being in anyone's database. Signing a range safety brief and waiver for a range is a normal thing but the video they have you watch is tailored to newer shooters. They list only three safety rules when everyone knows there are four standard range safety rules (four for the last 30 years of using ranges). The video repeats itself many times, like I said it is for newbies. Then it came time to fill out the waiver. The standard range language was in there. Then a section on COVID as if that is any concern at the range. I suppose a waiver like this should be used at every restaurant as well. Filling out my information at the end of the waiver I stopped to ask if they needed my email. I was told it was to send the waiver to me. I asked why they needed my address. All these data points are marked as required. I stopped and left because no gun range needs to collect my personal information and add it to a database. Buyer beware this place has a new policy of collecting your information and admittedly entering that information in a database. Their explanation is that lawyers make them do it. I say that you should go anywhere else that does not require your address and put you in a database. In an age of illegal immigrants that nobody has addresses for this is a warning sign.

It was just what I was hoping for.Everyone on the range was there for a similar reason & I felt comfortable around them,everyone was friendly & sane! The range master was equally serious,professional & courteous. He ran the range with a keen eye & with authority but gave us all the time & space to get targets set up,equipment organized & be at the ready for range commands.There was ample time with both hot & cold firing times & we all respected eachother & the RM. The range fee was very fair & for a whole day & I got everything I wanted to achieve that day with no rushing or pressure. I'm grateful for the professionals at Flatwoods Outfitters for a really fun day out,doing the things I love doing but rarely have time or a whole lot of $$ to do. Thank you.

It was the most relaxing atmosphere to shoot, no pressure, no one was being judgmental or pretentious. I just moved to NC, and am so happy to have this range near my house. Perhaps some of my review is about the shooters as the facility. I felt VERY welcome.
