He's small he gets nervous. He can get injured from being stepped on by a larger dog. There were 3 members of a family watching a smaller dog play and had a pitbull mix on a collar leash, not even a harness, in the small dog fence. I didn't know the dog, friendly? Not? Family wasn't friendly when I expressed my concern saying the dog was leashed. But a larger dog on simply a collar is still questionably controlled. They called me a racist, said I had no right to say the large dog shouldn't be in there. They said in a snarky way to 'do what ya gotta do' multiple times. I drove 20 minutes to let my dog run and couldn't take him off leash. I called the city of Greenville that said nobody could be there for an hour but just to keep my dog on a leash. This is supposed to be an off leash dog park! The trip was a waste of time and I left. I got the name of the person, As I left I was told that my skin doesn't handle the sun well and to get something on my reptile skin. How is this ok? I'll never financially support the park or the city of Greenville but I'm not rich so I guess it doesn't matter. The family was rude & inconsiderate. They claimed I felt entitled in a public park in the SMALL dog fence. The city of Greenville told me to call if something happened. No, my dog is precious and I'd never chance it. I was bit by a dog in the past trying to get to my dog. I have mobility issues & use a handicap placard so I cannot walk him distances. I'm very disappointed in my home town. Why would I return to the park? Below is a photo if the dog that they let loose running after I left in the small dog fence. Even if a friendly dog simply not appropriate. My dog got a pup cup afterwards to make up for not getting to run. Since then I've had other people tell me that they won't return either. Some even have large dogs but had other bad experiences. A few bad apples can ruin it for some of us.

But there is plenty of room to run, a great watering station, a lot of poop bag dispensers and trash cans, there are even some old school scoops and shovels for you to pick up the Poo with!! Although it appears that very few do? But the park is mostly grass there are a few places where it is dirt. It has a lot of old growth trees. And the people that come here seem to be very friendly and the dog seem to be very social. I think you can either park at the curb as you drive into the park or if you continue on a little further there is an actual parking lot. And the entryway is, well, big and long? I think they could have made better use of that entry area and space. But that won't stop your baby from having fun!

Unless you happen to live in the neighborhood and can walk here from your house there is only one Street that you can park on and you have to travel around the block to get to that one. The park is amazingly big with plenty of room for dogs to run around freely, meet and greet, and play with other dogs. There is a small dog area, a large dog area, and an agility area. There are benches and water fountains in each area. The large dog area has pools in it for dogs to get wet. I do wish there was one in the small dog area however I don't mind going in the large dog area so that my Shadow can enjoy and cool off. The agility area has a few obstacles that pets can run and jump on. The areas are large enough for you to get some steps in, sit and watch your pets, or play with them. While we were there two other dogs and I met some very nice dog owners. I will definitely be taking Shadow at least once a week.

The trainers bring dogs that have no control of their senses to a family park in an open space. Park department should not allow this. My dad trained German shepherd , Doberman and he trained them indoor until they were well trained and obedience. If they continue to get complains the park department may listen. I don't know why they are not investigating yet. I would hate to have find another park for my pup because of safety.

I've heard there's one gentleman who turns his lab loose every morning in the park and then sits in his car before he goes to work. Let's his dog crap all over the place and if somebody says something to him about him, he says, I pay my taxes and he gets confrontational. There are some super nice people and super nice dogs that come here but the negative people certainly make this a far less attractive park to bring your dog to. This also has a tinting structure on both Corners so that there are multiple picnic benches under them to sit in the shade. There is some fixed fitness equipment and some swing sets. The covered picnic shelter is large enough for four picnic tables and includes grills. There are also picnic tables around the rest of the park. A separate entrance to a dog park that includes two fences at the entrance for proper unleashed play. Though the fence around the park is only three feet high (one meter) so keep an eye on your dog if they're capable of jumping something like that. Let likely for children to hop the fence, but yes the entire park is surrounded to keep the little ones from possibly wandering off. The nature center and the small science building on premises are both free of charge to the public. There's even an outdoor park for small kids with slides and on nice day take a picnic and hang out there after seeing the sights. In nature center there's lots of live animals to see. The have a program with alligator adventure in myrtle beach where they get to bring baby alligators in for the alligator pool they have inside. Lots of different snakes on display. There's a downstairs cavelike exhibit in that building with all kinds of turtles too. Then travel over to tall science building. That ones more geared to small children but has display of heart and lungs to climb thru. The upstairs has all kinds of things too. There's even a small gift store there. For $1 you can ride a small train around too which peaked the kids interest. They had fun riding but geared more for smaller kids. For a nice day out and great price ($0) it's an awesome way spend time with kids without killing your wallet. These days that's a rare find.

**RV SITE REVIEW** A…read morecouple weeks back me and my dad camped for one night at Goose Creek State Park, and we stayed at RV site #20. This RV site was fantastic. All of the sites were flat (which is what you want), and offered plenty of privacy (The sites were very spacious from one another). All RV sites consist of 30 and 50 amp hookups, as well as a connection to fresh water, and a sewage pipe. The bath house was new and clean. It was modern on the inside, offered hot water (even in 20 degrees), and was well taken care of. The camp host does a great job at taking care of this site. I would highly recommend that you stay/visit Goose Creek when you can. It is a great hidden spot that offers a wide array of trails and activities.
