The past is the past, most of the negative reviews before the fire should be removed. It's a essentially a satellite of Hannaford now in Wolfeboro and I'm grateful I don't need to drive the extra 20 miles round trip to either Alton or Ossipee for routine weekly food shopping. It's 100% better esthetically after the rehab. They kept the Senior Discount on Tuesday which is a simple and better incentive then many. Most of the staff are pleasant most of the time. There are always tradeoffs between large and small locations. Bigger offers more inventory, more choices. Bigger is 900 miles a year more of travel and expense. Of course we can plan it with other travel but we missed the store when it was rehabbed after the fire. It's a Wolfeboro asset, they compete and I'm glad it's here. read more

This is different than the Harvest Market (not sure why the official photo has that included as part of it) and was not as nice actually. Aisles were a mess and there was a general untidiness as we walked around. Staff weren't that friendly, especially the woman checking us out who was playing on her phone and barely looked up as we went through. Prices were just okay. I probably wouldn't stop in again even though I like local grocery stores because it had a very unwelcoming vibe and none of the items seemed that special. read more

Shopping was a good experience with good selection for a small grocery store. The customer service was abysmal at checkout. The cashier threw heavy items onto bread and chips on multiple occasions as she checked them. When asked to stop she had a horrible attitude, and continued to be rough. So much for small town hospitality/decency. We will go to Alton next time. read more

I come here a lot because I live in town but the custom service is ehh at best .The cashiers are always on their phones and talking amongst themselves and Don't really pay much attention to their customers. I know the job maybe kinda boring but the fact that they are laying across the belt texting is rather rude. read more

Good that it i now affiliated with Hanafords. A town of just over 6000 people with two grocery stores seem silly. I live here so I coudl go here all the time. Then the summer comes and it gets crazy but could be a gold mine for them I think they should routinely offer the service to cart food to the boats and they will spend more money than they ever need to. Then maybe they can sell more to replace with fresher food and as a result sell more On another note I have a bone to pick about their lobsters. So the store closes at 9pm. They offer to steam lobsters which is great. It takes 6 minutes to do. They have 2 people working that section of the store. Twice we went there and it was just past 6pm and we were told they can't steam lobsters after 6 because they have other work they have to do. Really? I think they should offer to steam lobsters until 8:54pm which is a higher ticket item and the people will come all the time. read more

This is a small space and I thought they did a good job with what they had to work with. Sure the prices are more than you're going to find at your Wal-Mart mega store but what do you expect? It's a small grocery store in the middle of a summer resort town. That being said I thought they had a decent selection of everything I was looking for. The produce outside offered a good local selection. They had a surprisingly good selection of craft beers too. Having worked at a small meat market when I was younger I am a meat snob. The meat all looked great and my purchase was delicious. My first day on vacation I stocked up for the week and one of the young kids walked out to help me load the car. According to the sign they offer this to all of their customers. I loved that. The few kids I spoke with in the store were very friendly, talkative and helpful. P.S. I agree with the other poster about the parking lot. It's a horror show at peak times. read more

Overpriced, with poor selection and cluttered, crowded shelves. The mostly teenage staff seems generally inattentive and disinterested in the customers. Their parking lot is a nightmare, which they share with two other businesses; a dry-cleaner and a Rite-Aid. The salad bar is uncovered and always swarming with flies, which makes me wonder about the other departments in the store. read more

One of the two local grocery stores in town. Let's do some geographic math for a second... Thousands of summer people + small parking area X (3) businesses = MAYHEM Now that that's out of the way, let's review the store itself. Small footprint with an aging infrastructure. It needs some TLC...big time. The produce can be sketchy, like they don't have proper back room cold storage or something. More times than not, the produce is past its prime. That also makes me worried about buying our meats here. The pricing can be steep sometimes, and just OK at other times. Beer prices are messed up HIGH ! Gouges the people that live here year round. We too have had some issues with rude staff members before. (apparently a common theme here) One plus (and it's kinda major) is that they are now affiliated with Hannaford. So, they carry Hanni brand groceries which is sweet. All in all, they need some help. FOLLOW UP : Absolutely ABYSMAL produce section! We spent about $8 worth of produce...NONE of it was edible. All rotten, past its prime, and soggy. Disgraceful. read more

My family has been coming to Wolfborough for years and this place always delivers. Sure it's a small space (that said have you seen the town, a lot of places are small spaces) but it has a ton of product you just need to know how to look. It does get very busy during season and because of this it can seem cramped but it's one of the best places around. Amazing potato salad and coleslaw, and a good variety of items for a small grocery store. It also is a great place to meet locals and find out about cool events going on. Really rude workers. We're not from the area and we didn't know that everyone in the party had to be 21 to purchase alcohol in this state (it wasn't even for us, we were buying alcohol for my boyfriend's parents!!) Instead of casual explaining or politely telling us this, they were rude, confrontational, and honestly unecessarily snobby towards us (specifically the young cashier and the old bag of a cashier next to her). We left and sent in a couple of other people we were with who were both 24, and they denied THEM service, wouldn't even let them come in without RUDELY telling them "we're not selling you alcohol". What if these were two random people?? So rude. Dont even bother giving them your service. Instead we went to the liquor store around the corner where the establishment was aesthetically nicer, cleaner, and service was polite, professional, and fast. read more

Confrontational! I had been a customer in the past and called to ask if they still take-back Sherman Farm bottle returns. I was told that they did and that there was no limit on the quantity. I drove an hour and lugged a cart-full of bottles into the store and was told that they would not take that many back, in fact, they would not take any back as they were not ALL bought at their store, or at least I could not prove that they were. So . . . be careful when purchasing anything which requires a deposit from Hunters Market! Management was Confrontational, Rude, Belligerent. read more

A small market with narrow aisles which make it difficult to find what you're looking for. The deli has a limited selection of meats and potato, egg and tuna salad's are made elsewhere and brought in, they're awful. The prices are higher than the average market. If you ask someone where an item is they point. Employees can't be bothered to show the customer where an item is, they're too busy chatting up front with one another. It's a crazy busy parking lot from June through September. If you want something from the bakery be prepared to wait until someone shows up to help. I haven't seen a manager in the 5 or 6 times I've been there. The Hannaford's in Meredith is a much better experience. read more

Wonderful staff, everything I need for a month of eating well at the lake. Great selection of fresh vegetables, excellent baking supplies and seasonings; good selection of Stonewall Kitchen items and local coffee. read more
