This company promotes pulling a fast one on their customers, as Wayne the tech mentioned to me he knows the part is very inexpensive, yet still chooses to work for this company, and then was attempting to force his religeon on me by saying I would be finding Jesus some day. BEWARE of this company who trains their employees to follow this poor business practice.

Because I had purchased a furnace from Plumbing and Heating Paramedics and received excellent…read moreservice and a fair price, they were first on my list when I found an outdoor water faucet frozen after the winter's cold weather. A technician came out and inspected it. He said he needed to turn water off to the whole house but probably would run into a problem with the shut off valve, and recommended that be replaced also. The total bill was going to be almost $1000. I wanted to think about it so paid him $85 for a service call and told him I would get back to him in a few days. In the meantime I spoke with a friend who has some plumbing knowledge and he told me how to make the repair. I didn't need to shut off the water at all. It cost me less than $6 and took about 5 minutes. I definitely feel I this technician was trying to swindle me. I called the owner and asked to speak with him to give him a chance to rectify the situation, but after leaving a message because he wasn't available never got a return call. I would avoid these people because now I sincerely questioned their honesty and/or competency.

The heat pump and air handler for half our house broke down at the worst possible time. John was incredibly responsive and had his team out to our house same day to check out the issue. They started work first thing the next morning, replacing the broken equipment, and then upgraded our furnace and AC units to more efficient models. What stood out the most however was the above and beyond service. Jesse and Cody were very thorough and even looked at things that others would not have. They double checked that some of the older equipment from the house was handling the updates correctly. They were able to identify where we had some bad electrical wiring and recommended an electrician. Our house is feels significantly comfier (temperature wise) than it ever had before. I contacted Grateful Plumber through Yelp's project feature. I noted that they were a plumber that…read morequalified for Yelp's guarantee program, a neat program that I've fortunately never had to use. I did my initial contact outside of business hours. Early the next morning, I had a message from Adam B. Once I got to work, I returned the call and quickly described my issue and what I believed it to be. The first available appointment wasn't until Monday (it wasn't urgent, so I wasn't worried about going the weekend). I got my timeframe. I had a couple other appointments that day, so I ended up taking the day off so I could easily be available. I immediately liked that they told me who would be arriving - AND that was who arrived. I also liked that they use a customer portal that allows you to have some security if you pay online or to review your records. Christian arrived (there was one other person with him). It took him a couple minutes to diagnose the issue he believed it to be, and it took him not a lot longer to determine that diagnosis correct. He quoted the price, I agreed, and he got to work. After finishing the work, he determined the original issue I'd believed it to be wasn't quite needing to be addressed (but will be in the near future). We discussed options, including ways I could save a bit. Christian was personable and explained things in a way I could understand. The issue was likely caused by me, but he managed to avoid using the word "idiot" at any point. The repair was done in a timely manner. The price ended up being a bit lower than quoted. I appreciated his honesty as he very easily could have pointed me toward a repair not needing done yet. It also became obvious the last person I'd used had really only done half the job. Everything has worked beautifully since Christian finished. There are likely a couple more projects I'll tackle in the near future, and I won't hesitate to return to Grateful Plumber. The housecall was $59, but that was credited toward the repair once I decided to have them do the work. Friendly employees. Good follow-through. Fair pricing. Quality work. Problem solved. That's 5-star for me and another winner for Yelp's project feature.

Meanwhile late in the day someone from my Dad's church volunteered to come and look at the issue. The issue is fixed. I called the grateful plumber as soon as I had a chance , because of everything that is going on. The voice mail said that cancellations done in less than 24 hours would still require the service fee. I left a message and cancelled the appointment then I get a text that their service guy is on his way. I called back and talked with the owner I'm assuming and he said he is charging us a service fee anyway. That it was too late to call off his guys and that they had been holding this spot for me.
