Leptospirosis is also zoonotic, meaning it can be transferred from animals to humans. Why on earth would you not tell people about that? This is an antiquated practice that has not kept up with advancements in the veterinary field- that ignorance and hubris of "I know everything", killed my dog today. My dog is 12, his breed can live until they are 16. He deserved the chance to live and would have had I gone somewhere else. Also, Carley, the assistant who answers the phone, is a prime example of how to train someone if you want to lose clients. Absolutely awful bedside manner and I should have taken that hint. No doctor worth his salt would have someone like that working at the front desk if he had a successful enough practice to hire someone capable.

She detected a corneal ulcer on a visit totally unrelated to her eyes. I cannot thank her enough. I would have been beside myself if Prissy lost her eye! Dr. Greco takes our concerns very seriously and never dismisses our concerns even when we are being completely paranoid and insane....which happens often. ;) I thank Dr. Greco for caring for Prissy as though she were her own dog and for calling us to make sure she's ok. I have never been to another vet who cared as much as she does and I've been to the fancy shmancy places. Frankly, they all stink in comparison. The staff at Wilton Animal Hospital are superb in every way. Especially Emily! They truly care and you can feel their sincerity. I would recommend this clinic to anyone who loves their pet.

Upon returning to the vet to try and talk to Dr. Schunk the office told him that he was irite and needed to go get coffee when he was only very upset and reacting from the death of his bird. The office called the police and told him he was not to return to the vet office, call or write or even come into the town of Wilton. What a disgrace to mankind when he lost his best friend with no closure or explanation. After 10 years of taking his bird there and this is what he is left with ? I would never recommend this vet to anybody after seeing what this friend of mine went thru. South Wilton Vet and Dr. Schunk should be ashamed of themselves how dare you don't contact the bird's owner and give your condolences, closure any explanation at all. It's the week of Christmas and all the places I reached out to either didn't respond or didn't have any availability until after the holidays. I sent a message to Dr. MacDonald at 9:30pm on Sunday and she answered. She came the very next day. Dr. MacDonald was warm, compassionate, and patient. She loved on Tal while talking us through the process. In this terribly dark moment, she was our light ushering us all through this painful process and helping my baby transition with dignity and peace. In the days since, Dr. MacDonald has reached out multiple times to check in on us and keep us updated on his cremation. I am so eternally grateful for her kindness, empathy, and thoughtfulness not just during the service but also in the days after. My baby passed on 12/22/2025 with a belly full of treats and a heart full of love. Dr. MacDonald, THANK YOU for the work you do and the compassionate way you do it. I am forever grateful.

It was so scary and confusing for him to all of a sudden not be able to see and we were just devastated. Dr. Stuhr was recommended by my vet and we made the appointment right away. They were able to see us that same week and schedule the surgery. Thankfully, it was just in time, since his eye pressure in his right eye rose to a dangerous level the night before the surgery, and we almost lost his eye. Dr Stuhr was able to save it and remove the cataracts so our baby could see again! The whole process from start to finish was amazingly smooth and all the girls there are so warm, knowledgeable and efficient. They really made Theo feel comfortable and safe. They are a very caring facility and were able to fit us in last minute on a Saturday without much trouble. What was really excellent was Dr. Whalen gave me 2 prescriptions that were "people" medicines and can be filled at any pharmacy. He told me that sometimes Stop & Shop will fill it for free because they have a surplus of certain antibiotics. I wasn't sure it was the case and sure enough I went to get them filled and it cost a penny for one medication, and $10 for the other. Where the vet could have easily sold me an expensive drug at the visit, I greatly appreciated Dr. Whalen's care and his suggestion to get a medication in a very cost effective manor. I highly recommend this facility to any pet lovers in the area.
