So glad I was finally able to try this spot. Parking isn't great but it was raining so not many…read morepeople around. Cute shop with tables and chairs outside, as well as inside. The ladies at the counter asked if we'd been in before and quickly gave us a rundown noting the most popular sandwiches. My husband and I both ordered different sandwiches, chips and a drink. Spent about $36 but definitely worth it. Sandwiches were good size, fresh and so yummy. I had almost half left and my daughter absolutely destroyed it when she got home. lol! We'll definitely all go back next time. They also have a loyalty program so sign up to get free sandwiches! My one wish is for them to sell their day old bread for .50c like Jimmy Johns!! Hint, hint!

Dear Timmy, I owe…read moreyou an apology. Ever since you came into my life, you've been everything I could have asked for. You're always there when I need you. You smell incredible. You never disappoint. You leave me happy, satisfied, and wondering why I don't visit you more often. My friends love you. My family loves you. Life has been good. But... I got curious. As you know, Mike recently moved into town. Everyone kept talking about him. They said I had to give him a chance. Against my better judgment, I caved. Yesterday... I cheated. I walked through his doors, placed my order, and waited. Deep down, I knew it was wrong. Every bite was bland. Every chew was seasoned with regret. The only thing I brought home was the lingering taste of guilt and the realization that I had made a terrible mistake. I don't know what I was looking for when you already give me everything I need. Please know it meant nothing. It was a moment of weakness. You were right here all along, and I foolishly took you for granted. If you'll have me back, I promise to be loyal from this day forward. Forgive me, Timmy. P.S. Mike... it's not me, it's you.

I thought Mala Market was sandwich stand within a grocery store but it's an inviting sandwich…read morestand. The young ladies running the shop are super sweet and attentive. Although the order window is closed, if anyone is browsing the menu, you hear the window slide open and a sweet voice asking, do you have any questions or how can I help you? They have a good amount of sandwiches to select from. Great healthy options as we would expect from Kailua town. And the sandwiches and drinks are reasonably priced. The service is quick but there could be a bit of a wait time during the lunch hour. With so many restaurants in the plaza and another sandwich shop a few doors down, there's quite a bit of patrons sitting outside of Mala Market enjoying their meals from this stand. My sister and I shared the turkey pesto sandwich which was really good and filling. I also got a cup of the gumbo that I enjoyed. And we quenched our thirst with a cold brew for me and a plantation iced tea for my sis. We really enjoyed our meal and appreciate the hospitality of the staff members at Mala Market. And yes, I'll be returning with visiting family members.

Whiskey Smoke 808…read more Whiskey Smoke 808 @whiskeysmoke_808 is a family-owned BBQ spot right in the heart of Kāneʻohe, serving up wood-smoked meats with local island flavors. We stopped in for lunch around noon this past Sunday, and it was already fairly busy. Thankfully, we didn't have to wait too long to be seated. I ordered the 2 Choice Plate with pulehu ribs and brisket, along with potato mac and BBQ beans. We also ordered the All Meat Plate, which was a great way to sample several of their popular meats and came with pickled vegetables. Unfortunately, by the time we ordered, they were already sold out of the cornbread, peach cobbler, and brisket meatloaf. So if there's something specific you want to try, I'd definitely recommend getting there earlier! Of course, I had to try a couple of their sauces too--the Coffee Bourbon and Guava Chili Pepper. My mom and I also shared the cherry cobbler and banana pudding for dessert. My favorites were definitely the pulehu ribs and BBQ beans. The ribs had great flavor, and those beans were probably the side I'd order again without hesitation. Service could use some improvement. Our first plate took over 20 minutes, with the second arriving more than 10 minutes later, making it hard to enjoy our meal together. We also waited an additional 30 minutes for the freshly baked cherry cobbler. The staff was friendly, but better timing and communication would've made the overall experience much smoother. The banana pudding, on the other hand, was really good and ended the meal on a sweet note! Would I come back? Yes. There are still a few sold-out items I'd like to try, especially that brisket meatloaf and peach cobbler. So I'll definitely come earlier next time. Supporting a locally owned, family-run Kāneʻohe business while getting my BBQ fix? I'm here for it. #queeniesdiabadassfoodjourney #hawaiistagram #supportlocal #hawaiieats #diabeticfoodie

Support Local, Support Small Business!…read more This is a nice cozy Family-owned business. Not only a Diner/Restaurant but also has Merchandise and a hub for local made products. Also, on the Weekends you have Live Music while you eat. The menu is catered to the Local Hawaiian-American Breakfast, Brunch, or Lunch taste. It is pretty large as you could order Breakfast from open to Close at 2 PM. From simple Eggs, Rice, & Meat; Omelets, Pancakes & Waffles, to Plate Lunches, Sandwiches, and fresh Fruits and Desserts. On the Menu, some are marked as Popular Dishes, like mines Hapa Loco Moco Bowl: Hamburger patty and Corned Beef Hash Patty in Loco Moco form. Since it is covered in gravy and the egg, you only can tell the meat is cutting into or looking for it while eating. I'm glad Mac Salad or other sides are Ala Carte or sold separately because I was stuffed after eating it. Service was awesome! Staff was nice and friendly. I saw one was willing to talk story to a table who was asking about the Business'History. Only complaint and drop a Star is Beverage Refills. While family got Coffee refills, I vaguely remember Water refills and more important was my Drink (Raspberry Iced Tea) even though it was a Big cup, no one checked if I wanted more. (I would have taken 1/2 glass full towards the end or topped off depending when they asked.) 2nd time here, if it wasn't a family outing and good time the first time, I would only return if the fam wants to come here again for Brunch/Lunch after we pay our respects to family at Valley of the Temple the nearby Cemetery.

The ordering counter and cashier is right as you enter along with thr pastry counter. Same deals with thr kapolei location you order and find your own table and put number so they can find you when your order is up. Inside is airconditioned with around maybe 10 tables and chairs some seat 2 others eat 4 and they also have outside patio seating back and front. The parking can be challenging having maybe 10 -12 spots in their lot and some street parking . Their Menu is a bit more limited than their other location. Sandwiches.. pizza and other stuff oh and coffee. The only thing that wasmt as good as their kapolei location was they didnt have the thin crispy salty cravable fries they only had small bags of chips available The food is always good and the service was real good. The staff gave you an impression where they really valued their customers with greetings with a smile and happy goodbyes. As always a great experience with a great casual setting..fair pricing (nothing is considered "cheap" nowdays) ..good food and friendly staff.

I've been here several times now, and it's consistently been a solid 4 out of 5 stars…read more If you're expecting full table service or "princess treatment," this probably isn't the place for you. Water is self-serve, and the setup feels more like a cafeteria than a traditional sit-down restaurant. That said, the staff has always been friendly and welcoming, which makes for a pleasant experience. I usually order the chicken pesto sandwich, which is always a great choice, but today I decided to branch out and try the Beach Burger and the Margherita Pizza. Both were absolutely delicious and definitely worth ordering again. The atmosphere is one of my favorite parts. It has a relaxed, coastal vibe that makes you feel like you're dining at a beachfront café, even if you're not right on the sand. Overall, it's a great spot for good food, a laid-back environment, and friendly service. I'll definitely keep coming back.
