The server was amazing. Dinner was meh. We started with the tortilla chips with chili queso. The chips were really stale which was disappointing. My husband ordered the fish sandwich and the fish was a standard battered filet, but my husband really didn't like the bun it was served on. He said it was almost sweet tasting and then grilled like a garlic bread that didn't go with the batter. I had the meatloaf with seasonal veggies and green beans. The green beans are canned and the seasonal veggies are microwaved frozen broccoli and carrots. I know it was microwaved because the runner forgot them when he brought out the dinners, and then came back and laughed "they were still in the microwave". One of a few recommendations from the locals here was Hungry Buffalo. There was a 45 minute wait for our 9 person group. The restaurant is connected to a gift shop and an axe throw place too. We tried to get into the Axe throw while we were waiting; but that was busy too. They gave us two tables on the patio and with the weather being beautiful it was quite lovely. Some of the drinks we ordered were bloody mary, mango margarita, green lantern. Kids ordered chocolate milk. For appetizers we went with the Nachos, Potato skins and fried green tomatoes. Personally I liked the Potato skins and the nachos but some in our group liked the fried green tomatoes. Everyone liked their drinks. For our entrees the kids ordered mac cheese and chicken tenders and I ordered the grilled shrimp skewers, (but they came out as fried shrimp ) My sides were good with Sweet potato fries and steamed veggies. Some of the other entrees were - the Tennessee Jack Black, BLT, Southwest Salad, Prairie fire chicken. It took quite a bit of time for our food to come out, which was ok this time as we weren't in a rush and were enjoying the evening. There was a Saloon out back that we could walk to from the patio that looked very beautiful but the sign said we couldn't take any alcohol beyond the patio. We stopped in for lunch with a group of 7. Service was excellent, browns game was on, good choice of music playing. Prices were decent. My wife got soup and salad and she really enjoyed it. The blackberry vinaigrette was really good. I got the 100% Buffalo burger. It was good, but the patty was thinner than I was expecting. I originally ordered it medium but changed it to medium well bc I thought the patty would be a bit thicker. I should have stuck with medium bc it came out well and with any wild game that dries the meat out. Not complaining just giving a heads up in case you are expecting a thick patty. read more

One star is a blessing. Honestly it's crap. We actually got up and left. Sat at the bar first and the bartender acted like it was going out of her way to open me up a beer and never even acknowledge my girlfriend for a drink order. Only asked if we wanted food. We decided to move to the patio instead, but it didn't get any better. After being seated, we waited over 15 mins and was never waited on. The table beside us was being bussed and the kid doing the bussing literally took the half full glasses and tossed them over his shoulder into the grass. Apparently he did not take into consideration wind and it's effect on liquids as we were refreshed by the overspray. We simply got up and left after this. This restaurant made me download Yelp. Probably the worst food I've ever had - the only edible thing was my salad. Appetizers were tasteless and soggy, the chicken was likely boiled, and everything was gross and sticky. Wow, this place left an impression. My party of 6 was seated in a corner and forgotten about for 15 min... then the waitress/(manager?) was visibly flustered serving us upon realizing that (understandably). And came out to a bill that was more than the $20 per plate (no drinks!!! Just a single appetizer and individual meals...) This was my first time at a Hungry buffalos so I'm not sure if they're all this bad... I've had worse service, but never worse food... and paired with bad service and high prices... Seven of us ate here and the food was hit or miss. Burger was good but definitely watch how you order it it was on the undercooked. Would not recommend the sampler platter the nachos are skimpy and half the stuff on it, as well as the kids meals, were all over cooked. What a fun spot! We got the appetizer sampler and tried the pretzels, pickle chips, cheese curds, and mini corn dogs. It was all delicious, but the pickle chips and cheese curds are particularly amazing. I ordered the fried green tomato blt. It was good, (a blt always is) but the tomato was a bit squishy, so the texture is different from a normal blt. The french fries were amazing! Went to Hungry Buffalo for dinner last night and it was good. Our server Starr was fantastic, she was extremely kind and attentive. She got our drinks and food out fast. There is a gift shop and AXE THROWING connected to hungry Buffalo so you can play, shop & eat. Loved it! The only thing I would change was we ordered macaroni and cheese and green beans for our sides and they were both cold. Also there drink menu does not have prices on it so you have to ask every time you want a different drink. There are lots of options from steak, shrimp skewers, meatloaf, wings, fried green tomatoes and so much more!! Worth the stop. read more

We ordered take out and online. Day was Thursday. Chicken wings (naked w/ "hot" sauce), buffalo chili (a cup), and waffles. Pickup was to be at 7:20pm. Likes: Chili was good, with beans. Waffles were tender and sweet. The pickup service was friendly and quick. The meal was ready a few minutes ahead of schedule. Dislikes: The wings were a disappointment. The chicken meat had an "off" flavor, and the sauce was sparse and managed to be very hot but not tasty. The only reason I'm giving this place 2 stars is the fact that our server was awesome! We had a huge party(13) that included 4 young children and a baby. She was efficient and friendly and we never had to track her down. Unfortunately, my meal resembled 4 day old leftovers that probably sat under a heat lamp for a good 20 minutes before it reached the table. Their "grilled shrimp" were basically salad shrimp on a skewer with a touch of seasoning salt. The green beans were definitely from a can(which I don't mind) but I do prefer that they at least heat them up. The loaded baked potato was average. Once again, the server was great. I was also impressed that they were able to seat our large party immediately. But for what they ate charging for dinner I would much rather hit up a drive-thru for half the price. read more

I had such high hopes for Hungry Buffalo as I had heard great things about it. It's very nicely decorated inside and the staff was friendly enough, but it wasn't a great experience. Four out of the five of us ordered a highlighted sandwich. I ordered it as a burger done medium and the others ordered it as chicken. Two people in my group said it was not very good as a chicken sandwich. My mother ordered it completely plain with no bun, but they melted cheese on it. It took them quite some times to remake it, and when it came out again, they still put sauce on it which my mother found to be way too sweet. I thought my burger was fine and cooked as requested, but definitely not the best burger I've ever had. My boyfriend ordered the Bison Burger cooked medium rare, and they cooked it well done. He was incredibly disappointed. We also ordered the appetizer sampler which was good but nothing to write home about. For the troubles we had with the inaccurate orders, nothing was removed from our bill. The general store attached was way overpriced and it was off putting when there were many condescending signs accusing the guests of stealing. The last sign on the exit seriously said "Last chance to pay for the merchandise before it becomes a crime". So, I saw so many negative reviews on this place that I was honestly skeptical on coming here. Well, I'm here to say that we greatly enjoyed our time at the Hungry Buffalo. The food was delicious, the service was top notch, and it was incredibly clean. We got a monte cristo (epic!) and a bacon bacon burger (equally as epic). If you're stopping in around Logan, don't let the bad reviews fool you, this place is affordable and worth the trip. read more

Stopped by on a whim while on a weekend trip in Hocking Hills. I was impressed with the place. Awesome beer choices and great menu items. My wife absolutely loved her bison burger. As it's a wing place, I had to get the wings. I'll say they were good, but not great. I'm not a fan of giant sized wings. Everything else was good including the service. As a local I am really sad that neither of these sister restaurants (hungry buffalo & millstone) are any good. My daughter and I went on a Sunday evening. She ordered a grilled cheese from the kids menu which seems about the easiest meal to cook ever. This was just two slices of unmelted American cheese between bread. Luckily on Sundays kids meals are $0.99 so we did not complain. I ordered the meatloaf with mashed potatoes and green beans. I guess I expected it to be real green beans not smashed green beans from a can in juice. The meatloaf said covered in "red sauce" on the menu. The red sauce was just ketchup squirted straight from the bottle all over the place. I had two bites. The mashed potatoes were ok but the rest of the meal was awful. I was surprised we weren't asked if everything was ok by our server since over 80% of our meals were on our plates when we paid. There were only 3-4 other tables in the restaurant so it can't be blamed on being busy. I would recommend you skip this one. read more

Super nice waitress serving us and totally understanding when I ended up ordering my steak a little too rare and they sent it back and cooked a new one free of charge. The entrance was hard to find though because you enter down a long road in the back. A sign pointing down the road would be a good idea. The hostess did seem bored and didn't smile or anything but I understand if you don't really enjoy the job you're not going to be ecstatic to be there. 10/10 all together! read more

Overall, a decent spot. Nothing was great, nothing was bad. Beers are cheap (Yuengling is a big deal for this guy, who can't get it in Michigan), good service and food. Had the bacon burger and it was certainly a burger. Prepared perfectly, not messy, good quality beef. The only complaint was the wait. I know that things aren't running at full capacity right now, so that's not a knock. They were actually a lot faster than the quoted time, and we were seated way before another place that we had put our name in at the same. The Hungry Buffalo was the first restaurant I tried in Logan, OH, and I would recommend it to anyone planning to travel to the area. There are a nice variety of options to choose from, and the portions aren't so huge that you feel like you barely touched your food, but depending on what you order, you can still be happy you'll have some leftovers to take with you. The apple bourbon chicken was surprisingly delicious, with sweet and savory flavors and a well-grilled chicken making for a nice dinner after spending the day on the road. The chicken was also one of the most well-portioned meals I've had at a restaurant, being a nearly perfect size for a small eater like myself. And I would highly recommend the Monte Cristo sandwich to anyone looking for a new taste experience. Never in my life would I expect a food that combines a jelly donut with a sandwich to be good, but it is delicious! The dish is perfect for any meal of the day, and it reheats rather nicely. And the chocolate chip brownie for dessert is a classic, simple, yet yummy way to end a meal. Personally, I disliked the giant TVs on the walls, but I like that the volume wasn't overpowering conversation in the restaurant, and the rest of the rustic atmosphere of the restaurant was cute. The rice that came with the bourbon chicken also tasted very mediocre to me, but the rest of the good food helped me overlook that. I'd truly rather order a baked potato from Wendy's than eat this one again. The green beans were certainly bland and the bacon in them was rubbery. After waiting for 30 minutes to get a table and 30 minutes to get our food, my chicken quesadilla came out burned. I was so hungry that I ate half of it, which has caused indigestion. We requested the outdoor lights be turned on and they told us no, yet they wouldn't move us indoors?! We had to use our phone lights to eat. Also during our over 2 hour wait, the waitress never once checked on us to see if we needed refills or anything. Worst service/ experience we have had in a long time. Your typical local family friendly restaurant! Was at Hocking Hills for a getaway and wanted to head to Logan for some food and to watch the OSU game. I can't speak to the main menu but we got wings and beer to eat while watching the game. We ordered onion rings to start as an appetizer - spot on. A full basket to preface some chicken wings is how I want to fake watch football. The DEAD BUFFALO WINGS ARE NO JOKE. Man, I'm not sure what I was thinking getting the hottest ones, but my eyes we watering. Embarrassing. They load up that sauce too, which I love. You can split some of the sauces per number of wings (I think 5?). We also got the Millstone's Sweet & Tangy bbq to try since they had the bbq place right across the street. These were my favorites!! I love a sweet bbq sauce, but they usually end up being overly sweet - the Millstone's bbq sauce was the perfect amount of sweetness to add to the savory wings. There were a bunch of people there watching the game and eating, so it was a cool communal environment feeling - I'm sure they get that with other games. Stopped by during a business trip. The place was clean and service is fine, however the food is lacking. I ordered the 12 oz Ribeye with a shrimp skewer and two sides which were fries and seasonal vegetables. The steak was thin and tough, the connective tissue wasn't broken down. In addition it lacked seasoning so salt was necessary. Honestly I've had better steaks at Applebee's, which are rarely good. The fries and vegetables were fine. Outdoor seating was quick and comfortable, especially since we had our dog with us. Cocktails and drinks were served politely, but sloppily..they spilt while our waitress was trying to do as much as she could since they were obviously understaffed. We ordered the sampler appetizer and the food came out lukewarm. The nachos didn't have the cheese all the way melted and the cheese curds were cool to the touch. The only item that was hot was the pretzel and when we dipped it in the cheese dip there was a film at the top of the cheese. We got the wings and waffles with the tenders. They came out and the size of the chicken tenders were good but the quality of the chicken was not great. Including waffles in the name of this dish os a bit of a stretch as the total waffle that you get is about half the size of an eggo waffle. I did equal bites waffle and chicken and was able to eat 1.5 tenders before there was no more waffle. Service was not their saving grace either as we only saw the waitress when we ordered and paid. My glass was empty for most of the meal. All in all this was a waste of $50 and I don't suggest that you try it. read more
