Indian food is one of my favorite. And I always go for the Tiki Masala. I found Hungry Bird listed on UberEats, so I ordered some chicken tiki masala to be delivery to me at school. The delivery time took less than 30 minutes, and the food arrived warm and freshly cooked. I was very impressed by the portions, as usually most restaurants will try to skimp customers on the meat portions. The meal came with the tiki masala, and an equally generous amount of rice. This order was sufficient to make two meals. The first meal served as a great post-workout meal, and the other for lunch the next day. Hungry Bird was definitely a good choice for Indian food. I would definitely be ordering from them again!

Yet another one of my "must try" restaurant... ooooh I was beyond happy. Indian food is one of my favorite. It's been a while that I have had some good authentic Indian food until I found Hungry Bird listed on Yelp, so I ordered Shrimp tandoori with basmati rice. (I love there rice). And chicken curry with basmati rice and garlic na bread. The delivery time took about 30 minutes, and the food arrived warm and freshly cooked. I was very impressed by the portions. The order was sufficient to make two meals. The first meal the shrimp tandoori came with about 6 jumbo fresh shrimp onions, carrots, and tomato's, the portions was a good size that I had left over for lunch the next day. Very flavorful, spices where all on point. The chicken curry was made with all white meat (chicken breast) the curry sauce was very good not over powering the chicken was very moist too. This spot was definitely a good choice for Indian food. I would definitely be ordering from them again! And yes! I recommend them to anyone in the Bronx area.

Chicken Tika Masala take out. First time here, glad to know a place like this is available in this area. I wasn't sure about the "take out" quality because some places tend to minimize the attention to "take out" orders, but i was satisfied with the quality and the service. Is good for small groups, hygiene is very good, staff is friendly and welcoming. This is premium indian authentic food. Felt really good eating this at home, it kinda felt like it was cooked in my very own kitchen. That's exactly what it taste like, Indian home cooking :)

Another delivery during COVID 19. Delivery was fast and efficient and the food was hot. I got the chicken vindaloo, the chicken tikka masala, naan, and fried potatoes. The vindaloo had some spice and the chicken was tender. The chicken tikka's flavor was fine, but it was very mild, and I'm used to more spice and heat. The fried potatoes were just French fries, and were soggy upon arrival, but I'm not sure that could be helped because of the delivery. Overall, I'm glad I tried this place, and would try more things from there. For delivery, I would order earlier in the evening. I ordered around 7:30 and they had sold out of a lot of items. They have an expansive menu with something for everyone, including vegetarians and vegans.

on 9/3 I decided to order from Hungry Bird via UberEats as I was hungry and needed something to eat for dinner after work. I ordered from this spot at about 9:50pm (10mins before they were closing per UberEats). I don't know if restaurant workers get upset when you order something prior to closing so they just say "**** you" when making your food but I found a staple, piece of plastic wrapper and an unidentifiable black object in my food... This is a huge safety hazard as I could have choked on that staple and then this business would of been sued. They're lucky that if didn't go that way and I actually inspect my food before eating as I have OCD when it comes to how my food is prepared.. I am just utterly disgusted with how my food was given to me. I did reach out to UberEats and they did issue me a full refund (as they should), but I feel like this concern should have been taken further by posting my thoughts and experience on the web. Something like this would have gotten their business shut down by the Health Department.

43. Chicken Tikka Masala 90. Garlic Naan Vegetable Samosa

This was my first time trying Indian food and I'm so happy I ordered from here, and now have a local place to try more dishes. Generally, I love humble cooking, flavorful and hearty food I ordered off Uber eats, got a great promotion.. meanwhile, the service was fast and seamless. My food was still hot, and considering I ordered late (which I don't usually do bc delivering near close time is one of my rules for take out; just a big NO.) Took the risk after a long day and I'm hungry BUT my food was so yummy and as if it was just made, packed neatly and correctly. Vegetable Samosas come in 2 per order. Chicken Tikka Masala is one serving however, all this food is so filling that it can be for 2 or great leftovers. Garlic Naan is was tasty and filling also (I could have done without) but great for sharing or rice substitution. Indian food def top tier ya'll , Thank you Hungry bird!

Great service! Decent food! Laid back dining experience! Walking by quickly you may mistake it for your typical neighborhood chinese spot. But when you walk in you get a little piece of India heaven. Very clean, smells heavenly and very welcoming. You can sit down, order take out or get delivery. I ordered chicken tikka masala because that's what I use when I know I may only go to an Indian restaurant once and it's easily comparable. First bite, I would have raved about it. The chicken was tender and sauce was slightly too tomato-y for me but seasoned well with spices. But then some of the pieces of chicken tasted kind of rubbery. Yuck. I hate that. The naan was good and so was the rice. It was very affordable and they gave us the lunch special eventhough we technically just missed the hours where they said they would serve it. I didn't feel rushed and thought the service was good. If I went back I'd probably go with something vegetarian.

Sauce was incredible!! Got the tiki masala and wow! The only reason I don't give it 5 is the chicken seemed lower quality, pieces were a bit too large, and the chicken was a but over cooked. The naan wasn't my favorite. Less thick then typical. Flavor wasn't as delightful as I'm used to. Mango lassi was very good! With that said, the place was clean, fast service, and low prices!

They have some tables outside when it's nice out. They originally asked us to wait as no tables were available but then sat us at the table that was open. There seemed to be confusion but we were glad to be seated quickly as we didn't have reservations. For appetizers we got the spicy spinach and kale chaat which was crunchy, spicy, and flavorful. Also, ordered the tandoori chicken momo which were decent but would have liked them a little more spicy. For entree, I ordered the old Delhi butter chicken with bullet naan. I would say at first I thought it was just okay and that could be from the flavors in my mouth from the appetizer because when I had left over the next day I enjoyed it alot more. My friend ordered the lobster moilee for which the curry part was delicious, flavorful and spicy. Wish they had that coastal Indian curry with chicken. For dessert we got Chandni Chowk Ki Rabadi Jalebi as this was recommended from waitress but I would skip it unless your jalebi lover which I am not. It really sweet and milk reduces that a little bit of it but also milk aspect is confusing as traditionally we don't have that with milk. For a drink, I got mango lassi which was mediocre. My friend got some limeade drink which was sour as expected. This place I believe is byob.

Walk in not even a nicely welcoming for customers instead we felt bad vibes and extremely rude as well. we waited to be seated couple minutes they were looking confused or lost something in that moment we couldn't figure it out. We asked nicely for a bright table since we have reservation and the guy told us is all reserved but place was empty meantime. We seated and I have to asked for the light to be turned on so we can see the menu because the other side has lights on. It took sometime until they put it on. meanwhile our wine was getting warmer no wine glasses no water either and they kept walking front and back like they were accomplished something but nothing was going on. we were still waiting looking at them just waiting to order. 15minutes waiting finally they come and asked if we needed wine glass? Oh boy Meanwhile no lights so I use my phone because the table lamp didn't have batteries or not charge. So we say yes please respectfully but still waiting for it. Couple more minutes pass by and water and glasses still nothing. The table next to us was waiting as well for something else I can feel and see them how frustrating they were as well I hear them talking and not happy as well. So we just get up upset and left but of course we make sure we let them know how poorly their services were on top making people waiting so long when the place is literally empty. Careless Not sure how they have 4.7 rating reviews they definitely bought ratings or some tricky stuff here because honestly was awful to me. The place looks pretty good decorating with cute chandeliers that's all. Very disappointed

I tried: - Tofu Salli (4 out of 10): the tofu has a medium firm cheese like consistency, coated lightly in a tomato sauce. The consistency threw me off a little bit. It's not bad, but it's not flavorful. - Lassuni Gobhi (5 out if 10): I was really excited about this one, but the cauliflower had too much breading. The sauce was tasty. - Aloo Gobhi Mutter (9 out 10): the portion was huge, and very tasty. It's a little too salty, but pairs great with the rice. - Chicken Murgh Madras Curry (3 out of 10): The sauce was too salty (I added some more coconut milk at home). The chicken pieces were really dry and tough. - Plain Naan (10 out of 10): delicious and well made Unfortunately, for the price, I'm not sure I would try this place again.

Chicken tikka masala was a bit oiler than I'm used to. They didn't have any plain rice available as a side order for the curry, so they suggested the Friday special rice which was chicken and chickpeas and ginger etc, unfortunately this had definitely been sitting a while and rice was pretty mushy. The staff were pretty friendly, and I liked how the dining area was decorated. $22 for the two dishes and naan (plenty of leftovers that i took home although not sure how well the rice will be tomorrow)
