It was perfectly cooked Bangladeshi comfort food that included bhaat (white rice), daal (lentil soup), a mixed vegetable curry, a bhorta (spiced mashed potatoes basically), and salad!! Whenever we are in the Sterling Ave area and we want Bengali food, Premium seems to be our go to place. I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner here and the food is always consistent. Everything that I have had here tastes good. The service and cleanness here is a hit or miss though. Most of the time I had to ask someone to clean the tables and chairs for us, which they do right away after asking. Depending on how busy this place gets, the customer service can be slow at times. Weekends are usually busy. They have so many items on their menu. The menu seems to change very week. Some of my favorites are beef tehari, Polau Roast, tandoori chicken, and chicken roll. And if you are in the mood for Sweets, they have a variety of sweets, from Rosh Malai to shondash and so many others. Every sweets that I have tasted good. This is a review of takeout. I happened to find this place when I was looking to get some Indian sweets. This is a Bangladeshi place I believe but the food is very similar to Indian. They have some really amazing deals on Friday, Saturday and Sunday on Grubhub which is when and where I ordered. We had chicken and goat biriyani. They were both good for the price. The chili chicken was also good. We got onion kulcha which was nice. The romali roti was also great and it's kind of a rare find around here which was nice. The breads are really big and can definitely each feed two people. The gulab jamun was good as well. Parking may be a bit of a problem around that area depending on the day and time. The service was great. They had my food ready and I was in and out. They do have good amount of indoor seating as well. Overall, a great find for me and amazing prices and exotic foods is a bonus for sure. read more

Tried this restaurant with my family for the first time today and had such a great food experience! Premium Sweets is located in the Parkchester area of the Bronx and is in a primarily Bangladeshi community. Parking can be a bit of a pain but eventually you will find street parking. There is meter parking available (.25 for 15 minutes until 7pm). The area is very reminiscent of Jackson heights. The venue is very modest and has a simple set up with a few small tables and chairs in the back. The venue is clean and manned by multiple staff. The owner Mr. Khan is so NICE! He immediately greeted my family and I and asked us to stay for dinner (I've never met this gentleman before but I immediately felt and was treated like family). I asked Mr. Khan what he could suggest for a meal as there were a huge variety of items available because of Ramadan. Shortly after being seated, staff began to bring over a variety of dishes. We shared the chicken and beef biryani, various iftar fritters, & salad. The tamarind sauce served on the side was so sweet, sour and mildly spicy, and complimented the fried items. The beef biryani was delicious! The meat was so tender and melted away as you ate it. The salad was crisp and the green chilies on the side were fresh and fiery hot [just the way I like em]! After finishing our meal, Mr. Khan brought us dessert! The variety included jalebis, gulab jamun & kala jamun. All of the sweets were perfection! Fresh, soft, & sweet. The restaurant sells traditional Indian sweets for $7.99 a pound which are available in a refrigerated case in the front of the store. Next to the register is a buffet style variety of Indian/Bangladeshi dishes. Because of Ramadan, there were also trays of fried goodness available for very reasonable prices, varying from 3 items for a dollar to one dollar each item. We also tried the chicken samosas which were crispy and packed full of well seasoned mildly spicy filling. The chicken tikki were delicious too! The restaurant has a cooler with typical drinks, soda, bottled water, etc. Tea is also readily available. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant for the sweets, the food and most importantly the amazing customer service and the ever so wonderful Mr. Khan. read more

Very rarely do I give out 5 full stars! But this place deserves it thanks to the authentic taste of Bangladesh! If you're looking for authentic Bangladeshi food, this is the place. The beef tehari is amazing!!! Not oily as most other places I've been to and had such a robust flavor. The meat itself is so tender it might as well have melted in my mouth but it was perfectly cooked and so it didn't. Lol I would highly recommend people to try this. The spicy yogurt drink (Borhani) was ok. A bit too salty for my taste. I'd pass on this. The beef biryani was also pretty good but didn't bear the tehari for me. Interior wise, there's lots of sitting space in the back. The entryway is a bit congested. Tight space for two way traffic. I wish they had some menus so people can order while seated instead of standing g in the already tight space. Now service wise, I would've taken a star off had Mr Khan (manager, I believe) not saved the day at the end. He chatted with us a bit after we were done, asked how everything was, took some suggestions, even gave us complimentary dessert and tea! Earlier though, we asked our server for a second plate of salad but it never arrived to our table. Also, he seemed to have been only one serving about 4/5 tables. So I think there's room for the waiters/servers to improve on their services. Bathroom - also very authentic, unfortunately; just like the smelly bathrooms in the less developed areas in Bangladesh. Really though, the trash bin was overflowing with trash.. the lid was broken so it stayed open. Easy fix though. Fix it! Besides these two cons, I would still go here for the food. Super oily, no meat, very little and tiny pieces of meat with bones, also doesn't smell fresh. Maybe it was made a day before and kept in the fridge. The best and most fresh tea in the neighborhood. Whenever the crowd is little and I am having a tea there, I just miss my tea buddies and miss those tea memories which everyone has left behind. They sell good biriyani but a bit expensive than the other restaurant. They are the best sweets seller in this area. You can always try their sweets and snacks. We took chicken roast and rice but the chicken roast was clearly had expired meat. The smell was awful and even after few hours i am not feeling well. I let the server know about this, but the response of it was not quite acceptable. And they are still selling the roast even when we were leaving. My wife and I have been coming here for a few months now after being referred to it by a good friend of ours who owns a high end coffee shop in Mamaroneck, NY. We always come here when we crave some great quality, home style cooking. Most of the food here is cooked with true bengali style, exactly what you'd get when you go to a bengali friend's home for a special occasion. Till this date, we have tried many different seafood entrees, vegetarian entrees and the absolutely wonderful biryanis. All the food here is cooked/prepared in advance and kept on cooling/heating trays. You can get enough food for 4 people for less than 35 dollars and have plenty of left overs for the next day. The owner/manager of this location provided me with some of the finest customer service I have ever gotten at a store of this type. He actually got on the phone with my wife to describe how everything was prepared and what was on the menu to help her make a decision. AMAZING Definitely do not leave this place without trying a samosa and the rosh malais......... the samosas are hands down the best I've ever had(sorry grandma) and the rosh malais are expensive but worth every last penny. I don't know where to start. Premium sweets is an unassuming dessert and buffet on a busy street in Parkchester. Once inside you can feel the authenticity right away. I cannot remember his name, but the gentleman managing the place was an angel. He helped my friend and I traverse through the expanse selection of dishes to find our match lol. We each had a portion of 3 different entries with our own rice. It was a lot of food. We had different exotic teas with ginger. We feasted on all sorts of Bengali treats! The also have American desserts. I purchased two of the flakiest puffed pastries filled with veggies, to go. There's seated dining and to go service. EVERYONE was very kind and always smiling. But totally worth it, especially when I'm having a craving for samosa. The neighborhood has plenty of Indian restaurants, but this place is my favorite. Inside is decent, clean and well kept, but could definitely use a makeover. Pretty small for a large party, but small enough for 4 people at a time and seating comfortably. Well, where do I start? So today I went to this place with 2 of my friends. We had Biriyani which tasted more like raw oil and the meat was not even cooked all the way. We also shared parathas with 2 different kinds of beef curry. The parathas were pretty good but both bowl of the curry was so greasy and barely any fresh meat pieces in 2 bowls. We had sweets afterwards and they were good. Then came the surprise - the bill! A plate of biryani cost $10? A paratha and tiny bowl of beef curry costs another $10? Premium sweet, you better get your acts together cause you will be losing customer with this kind of food and ridiculous pricing. Just to note, this is the first time we went to this restaurant; Maybe it was one of those bad day? I don't know but I feel robbed with the pricing they have.
