Tried this restaurant with my family for the first time today and had such a great food experience! Premium Sweets is located in the Parkchester area of the Bronx and is in a primarily Bangladeshi community. Parking can be a bit of a pain but eventually you will find street parking. There is meter parking available (.25 for 15 minutes until 7pm). The area is very reminiscent of Jackson heights. The venue is very modest and has a simple set up with a few small tables and chairs in the back. The venue is clean and manned by multiple staff. The owner Mr. Khan is so NICE! He immediately greeted my family and I and asked us to stay for dinner (I've never met this gentleman before but I immediately felt and was treated like family). I asked Mr. Khan what he could suggest for a meal as there were a huge variety of items available because of Ramadan. Shortly after being seated, staff began to bring over a variety of dishes. We shared the chicken and beef biryani, various iftar fritters, & salad. The tamarind sauce served on the side was so sweet, sour and mildly spicy, and complimented the fried items. The beef biryani was delicious! The meat was so tender and melted away as you ate it. The salad was crisp and the green chilies on the side were fresh and fiery hot [just the way I like em]! After finishing our meal, Mr. Khan brought us dessert! The variety included jalebis, gulab jamun & kala jamun. All of the sweets were perfection! Fresh, soft, & sweet. The restaurant sells traditional Indian sweets for $7.99 a pound which are available in a refrigerated case in the front of the store. Next to the register is a buffet style variety of Indian/Bangladeshi dishes. Because of Ramadan, there were also trays of fried goodness available for very reasonable prices, varying from 3 items for a dollar to one dollar each item. We also tried the chicken samosas which were crispy and packed full of well seasoned mildly spicy filling. The chicken tikki were delicious too! The restaurant has a cooler with typical drinks, soda, bottled water, etc. Tea is also readily available. I will definitely be returning to this restaurant for the sweets, the food and most importantly the amazing customer service and the ever so wonderful Mr. Khan.

Look at the oil on the Briyani (no meat)

I'll Never go there again and if you read it please don't go. If you want to stay healthy then stay away from this place. I got goat Biryani and plain pulaw (rice). Super oily, no meat, very little and tiny pieces of meat with bones, also doesn't smell fresh. Maybe it was made a day before and kept in the fridge. Goat meat smells so bad (probably not washed properly). Such a waste of money and I was really hungry and starving, well I will go to bed without having dinner.

    Best tea in the neighborhood.

The best and most fresh tea in the neighborhood. Whenever the crowd is little and I am having a tea there, I just miss my tea buddies and miss those tea memories which everyone has left behind. They sell good biriyani but a bit expensive than the other restaurant. They are the best sweets seller in this area. You can always try their sweets and snacks. Service is good and workers are friendly and well mannered. Every penny spent is worth there.

I don't know where to start. Premium sweets is an unassuming dessert and buffet on a busy street in Parkchester. Once inside you can feel the authenticity right away. I cannot remember his name, but the gentleman managing the place was an angel. He helped my friend and I traverse through the expanse selection of dishes to find our match lol. We each had a portion of 3 different entries with our own rice. It was a lot of food. We had different exotic teas with ginger. We feasted on all sorts of Bengali treats! The also have American desserts. I purchased two of the flakiest puffed pastries filled with veggies, to go. There's seated dining and to go service. EVERYONE was very kind and always smiling. Anytime I come to Parkchester, I'll be here!!

The food was a-m-a-z-i-n-g! We ordered a mixture of different dishes: chicken roast, rice and chicken, rice and beef, three different vegetable sides, chilli chicken, (not in the picture: vegetable and chicken samosas, and sweets). Staff was extremely friendly and the prices are very affordable.

I come here often, although it's pretty far from my place (next stop on the train) and a very long walk back home (no delivery service). But totally worth it, especially when I'm having a craving for samosa. Just love their collection of Soya cheese rolls, Palak pakora, Onion fritters, bread pakora, kachouri, green garbanzo beans samosa, masala kaju(maida) and bhaji. The neighborhood has plenty of Indian restaurants, but this place is my favorite. Inside is decent, clean and well kept, but could definitely use a makeover. Pretty small for a large party, but small enough for 4 people at a time and seating comfortably. Way too many severs behind the counter, but they do keep themselves busy and the manager is always up front and ready to help you decide with a tasting if you're foreign to Indian (Bangladesh) dishes, I wasn't too crazy about the food being heat up in the microwave, but the food, the food is pretty Ah!mazing, you can actually taste the spices on every dish, especially the chicken, shrimp, beef, goat (no lamb) curry and the huge rice selection. No menu, a different dish everyday, so you won't be disappointed. Price isn't so bad, $4 half (rice) or $7 big plate for 2 and their wide selections of meat $3.50-$8.

So I work approximately 10 mins from this Bengali restaurant. I ordered through the Yelp app…read more I had high hopes while ordering from here. A few Bengali co-workers had mentioned this place . I ordered the chicken Biryani, butter chicken, some naan, an Okra dish 4 wifey and finally some veggie loaded samosa's with huge pieces of potato and it was very greasy - cause the brown bag it was in the as soaked all over with oil! As I was walking back to the car, I at two samosas. I was particularly hungry and they tasted good. When. I arrived home I had shared the Biryani, one piece of buttered chicken & the naan with the life partner. Even while I was eating this food, I was thinking, something is not exactly right about the way this food is going down. It didn't taste fresh. The meat in particular. I found out why. Later that night I woke up at 5 am with very loose stool and I'm fouling up the bthroom! It's Not worth it. I wouldn't order again from here. I'd recommend TANDOOR PLACE just ONE half block near to this place on - 2146 STARLING AVE, if I were to get hungry for soma good Bengali dishes. TANDOORI PLACE IS a bit more expensive but the quality of the food was better and I had no gastrointestinal complaints later on. And one more thing. If you look at the picture I took this place has an A rating. Which rates restaurants based on how well they follow food safety regulations. This rating confounds me. It should be more like C rated. Happy hunting Yelpers!!

I placed an online catering order and followed up with an email, but never received a response. Following initial contact with the restaurant via landline, I was assured that they had indeed verified and received the order. Furthermore, they confirmed both the date and the scheduled pick-up time. However, when I arrived on the pick up date, the staff didn't know anything about the order. They scrambled to make it last minute, and the food was terrible. I regret to inform that the rice was rather bland, dry, and overcooked. Furthermore, the kebabs seemed dry and stale, as if they had been reheated. I have to mention that the number of kebabs I received was less than what I had ordered, by three. It was quite disappointing to serve this to my guests. The owner/ management team seems more focused on money than customer satisfaction. Their customer service is horrible, and there's no accountability. I noticed that while the owner or management team may respond to reviews, there appears to be a lack of improvement in the customer experience or resolution of reported issues. They didn't offer any solutions or compensation, and the staff member was only polite to me because they knew it was their fault. They also wouldn't let me speak to the owner or management team. So, for anyone placing a catering order, be very careful and stay on top of them, constantly reminding them, because they don't take customers seriously.

The goat curry was pretty good and hit the spice profile with it not too spicy. The curry had a good portion of meat and not all bones which was great. We really enjoyed this dish. We also got a small okra for $4 and that too was really tasty and not runny. My son got the chicken briyani for $10 and while it looked so good behind the glass, the taste was just average as the texture is a bit off. The staff asked if we wanted heated up our foods as he said it was just room temperature. Surprised it wouldn't be kept hot in the first place but anyway we said yes and he microwaved for a few which I'm glad we made that choice. Also got a mango lassi drink and we got some Indian sweet treats which he gave to us on the house so that was nice. All in all, it exceeded our initial expectation and would give this place high 3 stars.

I discovered that a Bangladesh street food called fushka is very popular, so decided to try for my first time. Tong is highly rated and their menu is simple. I ordered the Doi Fuchka ($7), which comes as crispy, hollow puri shells stuffed with a savory mashed potato and chickpea mixture. The difference in the doi is that it is topped with a yogurt to balance the spice for a creamier texture. I liked this a lot, especially with the tamarind sauce too (though this got a bit messy). This is nothing like I've ever tasted with so many different textures going on. It hits you with spicy, sweet, savory, crunchy, creamy, chewy and everything all at once. It comes with 8 pieces, which is perfect to share with 2-3 people. Definitely something to check out!

Run by a mom & daughter duo, Amma & Nur-E are truly so down-to-earth, full of positivity, and their energy is luminous. Amma is genuinely passionate about her craft and unbelievably humble! We arrived 10 minutes before 8pm and were greeted by Nur-E who literally shook our hands and welcomed us with open arms. The restaurant seats ~18 people so you can imagine how intimate, curated, and deeply rooted in tradition this dinner felt. Amma is from Dhaka, Bangladesh and with every course that came out, Nur-E described it to us in her expert storytelling ways! Everything we had was incredible. The Mango Lassi is blended by hand for that perfect consistency and refreshing, lightly sweet, homemade taste! After 5 whole courses came out, Nour-E came out and told us we had 7 more to go! So definitely come hungry and know you will leave beyond satisfied. My favorites were the Lau Chingri (Shrimp & Bottle Gourd Squash), the Rohu Fish Fried, the Murgir (Chicken) Roast & Palao, Beef Curry (Gorur Gostho) and Khashir (Goat) Biryani. Basically everything we had!! Each dish was balanced in depth, richness, and heat. The meats & fish were so tender, the rices were unbelievably fragrant, and the sauces were aromatic and layered rather than just spicy. The Rohu Fish Fried is imported from Bangladesh and lightly coated in spices and pan-fried until golden brown. This was my first time having this fish and it won't be my last! The Murgir (Chicken) Roast & Palao will live rent free in my head for a long time. It's richly caramelized, light yet aromatic, and deliciously comforting. I can see why this is usually a celebratory dish and is the only dish that Amma will serve at every Dawat Dinner! This dish is so popular that you can now find the recipe on Food & Wine. Speaking of accomplishments, the Lau Chingri (Shrimp & Bottle Gourd Squash) was named one of The New York Times' Best Dishes of 2025. We were also so lucky that Amma made her Mishti Doi for dessert! It's a sweet yogurt that has a custard-like creaminess and was the perfect way to end the meal after all those incredible flavors. We were so grateful to get a special one in a traditional clay pot. Also, there's tons of food but the staff will package any leftovers for you to take with you! They've literally thought of everything to make this an exceptional experience. Nur-E closed our dinner saying "food is life's greatest connector" and I couldn't agree more! Amma is truly an inspiration for opening Korai Kitchen at 61 years old, becoming a James Beard Nominee at 67 and getting 3 Stars from New York Times, and now signing her first cook book deal at 69. This is definitely in my top 10 meals of 2026 and is one of the most memorable meals I've ever had. I can't recommend Korai Kitchen enough.
