    Not appetizing. Mutton was hard.
    Sundeep S.

Food was disgusting. Mutton biryani was terrible. Meat was over cooked and rubbery. Rice had odd flavor. If you charge $12 for a biryani, please make sure it's good. Khalil's biryani house's Saturday special Biryani is way better. Fists time I ate here. Probably won't eat here again. I finished it because I was hungry.

Always gotta have Bengali food whenever I come back to NY. I usually go to Jackson heights but My friends live in the Bronx now and they found a small Bengali neighborhood that satisfies my cravings. You can't go wrong with any dish at this restaurant. If you want to be a little adventurous try the liver samosa; for everyone else they will have the potato and veggie samosas as well as fried chicken rolls. We usually get some sort of biryani, a curry dish and kebabs. The portions are huge and prices are cheap. You can be really full for only $10 a head.

The best Bangladesh food ever!!! My boyfriend took me and my kids here to eat, he's a regular customer and knows the owner and it was Devine! Authentic Bangladesh food, you can get anything and it's taste great. The waiter was amazing, he explained all the dishes to us, suggested the amount to get and share for our 4 party person! I mean what can I say, the portions are huge and cheap but not cheap tasting. I wanted to slap my own face, lol you will not be disappointed and please thank me later! Thanks for the amazing dining experience, we will be back again and I'm sure my boyfriend Anthony will beat us to it! I have a few pics of my boo and the owner, he's an amazing guy!

As shown in the photo is the rice and chicken, with a bone on top that was hidden between the rice.

A friend of mine just ordered some food for me. I typically get chicken biryani, samosas, and naan from here. When the food arrived home I noticed piece of chicken bone inside the rice. It looks as if someone ate parts of the chicken and placed it back in the rice to sell. I have been going here for years. It is sad to see bones appearing in the food.

Such a great place! We were visiting a relative in Bronx from Montreal and having grown up in Bangladesh, got instantly mesmerized by the number of Bangladeshis in the neighborhood. We decided to stop by Al Aqsa to have breakfast in Bangladeshi style. They didn't disappoint us! The food was just like what I used to have back in Bangladesh! The omelet, paratha, sabji was so good and the kind waitress who was serving us stopped by couple of times to ensure everything is fine and if we need anything else. After reading about their malai chai on a paper clip hanged on their wall I wanted to try that out after breakfast but unfortunately they serve that only in the afternoon and evening. After trying their "normal" chai my wife and me literally became speechless and stared at each other! No kidding! It was the BEST chai I've had outside of Bangladesh. What a treat! The liquor was thick and the tea aroma was "intoxicating". We wondered if their "normal" chai is this good, what would be their "malai" chai. Since we were supposed to be leaving NY that night we decided to stop by again in the late afternoon/evening for their malai chai. Unfortunately they ran out of it when we went there in the evening and it usually takes around 2-3 hours of milk boiling to make a new batch of malai chai. We ended up having their normal chai again along with samosa and moglai paratha. They were all equally good! One last thing I want to mention is it's not only the food that made us fall in love with place. It was also the atmosphere. There were so many Bangladeshi people both in the morning and evening and their gossip (adda in Bangla) made us feel at home! I wish there were places like this in Montreal where we could visit once in a while to keep in touch with our root - Bangladesh

What a wonderful spot for you to explore…read more We wanted to take our friend out to dinner for his birthday he likes a low key style. We called a head since it was 6 of us to see if we could do a walk in or if we needed a reservation , and both options are available which is a plus. Dress attire is your choice we dressed regular nothing fancy just day to day hang out style. We were greeted kindly by the staff sat down handed a set of dominoes to play with while we waited for our food and drank some water. The place is decorated nicely and you can see the vision in mind definitely. We placed our orders and I'm not gonna lie I came in thinking the food was gonna be eh but I was blown away by the flavors. For drinks we ordered a spicy sunset, pretty young thing and cokes. The spicy sunset is a nice strong drink and is rimmed nicely with just the right amount is tajin as you drink it; it has a nice smoky after taste to it definitely was delicious. The pretty young thing was a nice citrusy drink with a little salty aftertaste, which balanced out the flavor nicely. The cokes were not water down they were good as well. For food we ordered the Cuban sandwich with parmesan fries, butter chicken wings, butter chicken macaroni and cheese, steak nachos grande, butter chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries and mom's butter chicken platter. This was a wonderful Spanish and Indian style combination of flavors. Definitely my first time having this type of food and wow what a mind blowing experience. Not one person in the table complained or had anything negative to say about their food. We all tried each other's food and each bite we exchanged to try was delicious and better than the last . The Cuban was delicious but the parmesan fries stole the show from that meal it was paired so lovely who would've thought those flavors would've mixed nicely. The buttery chicken wings oh my God dripping with goodness each bite was legit finger licking good lol. The butter chicken macaroni very very delicious. Had a nice cheese pull and a good balance could not stop eating it. The steak nachos were delicious I wish It had a little more meat, but it was not bad. The butter chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries also delicious and the fries were cooked so nicely that it was crispy and soft at the same time per bite. The mom's butter chicken platter was delicious they gave the right amount of sauce, the pita bread was delicious and soft, the salad that it was paired with was good too the rice was decently portioned. Everything was definitely tasty. Not one complaint of any of the meals. We did not wait long for the food. Bathrooms were nice and clean. I want to come back to try more things in the menu that's how good the food was and our group agreed to also come back with us. This spot is definitely a place to try. They have a beautiful quote right near the bar that really spoke to us, especially during these times it said "you are exactly where you need to be." It makes you stop for a second and really take it in and just live in the moment ... especially living in New York, where you have to be always go go go fast fast fast. This was really beautifully written thank you to the staff who made our night and our friend's birthday special we'll see you soon.

I like my eggs scrambled and this was kinda of a flattop melted with cheese. The French toast was kinda like I could make it myself. Not the best breakfast I have had. The appetizer I had was great though. The tostones were just the right amount of crops and the sauce on top of the sausage and potato bites was the right about of kick. Service was fast as it was not much people in the establishment when we went.

I'm not familiar with Pakistani food, which is a great reason for me to check it out... and I figured it's similar to Indian, which I love. The name of the place sounds super cool and kind of silly, TBH, so I think that hooked me. There's not too much parking available on the streets near the restaurant, but I found some right down on Bronxwood Ave about a 2 minute walk. Upon arrival, I was a little surprised to find it kind of beat-up looking, a damaged table (with the veneer peeling away from the top)... not looking quite as great as it did in the photos I saw on Yelp. But the food looked good. I ordered beef (in a thick gravy) over seasoned white rice. Even though it's ready to eat, it's not warmed up, so I had to wait a few minutes for them to plate and microwave it. They added a generous amount of the sauce/gravy to the top, but the gravy kind of disappears into the rice. The flavor wasn't really to my liking... I couldn't identify what exactly was the dominant spice or spices, but they're not a favorite of mine. Regardless, I ate all of the meat... but as you can see from the photos, you should have plenty of RICE left when you're done! I brought some home. Service was casual and consisted of the guys who work behind the counter. It's not real table service. Definitely do not go here on a date unless you know the person is casual and adventurous and not at all scared of a "hole in the wall." The staff there are nice... asked me how I liked the food when I was finished and all. It cost $11 which is totally fair.

The food also didn't match what was advertised. I ordered a salad expecting what was shown on the menu, but received slimy arugula, strong-smelling feta, and dry grape tomatoes. When I brought it up, I was told the system has been like this for "2 months," yet the online and in-person menus are still not updated and don't match Uber Eats or what is actually served. The chicken over rice was overly sauced and served cold, and the photos online are outdated and misleading. When I tried to address the issue, I was told to "just take the tomatoes off," which didn't solve the problem since that wasn't what I ordered. The staff was also dismissive and rushed the conversation, making it feel like the issue was being blamed on me. Overall, there's a lack of consistency, poor communication, and misleading menu information. I won't be ordering again. I'd recommend Space Grill instead--the food is much better, though they close around 11pm.
