We recently rented a dumpster from Humpty Dumps for a home clean-out project and, honestly, we were left disappointed. We've had a fantastic experience with Sam's Hauling in the past -- local, responsive, reasonably priced, and super flexible -- but unfortunately, they didn't have availability for a few days and we were eager to get started. So we paid $100 more to rent a larger dumpster than we needed from Humpty Dumps just to get it sooner. Big mistake. From the start, it was clear this is a large corporate operation -- everything routes through an 800 number, and there's no real human connection or local flexibility. We ended up needing just one more day to wrap up our project, but there was no wiggle room, no accommodation -- just extra fees and frustration. Bottom line: If you're in the Littleton area and want straightforward service, good pricing, and a company that actually works with you, skip Humpty Dumps and go with Sam's Hauling instead. We requested a concrete roll off dumpster. They brought a regular dumpster roll off. They told us we could still use it for concrete, but we couldn't fill it up more than half the way. We obliged but then they come to pick it up and say it's too much! And then they don't want to take the dumpster at all! Humpty Dump was an excellent company to use. The scheduling was easy and accommodating to me needing the dumpster the next day. The delivery driver called to say he was 20 minutes away. The delivery was placed exactly where I needed it. Two days later I scheduled the early pick-up and again it was easy and timely. I'm not saying this is a bad company, but they had a really bad day. It's also a lesson on trash customer service versus excellent customer service. Trash is what I received, but here's a look at how they could have earned 5 stars. I moved out of my house las weekend, and I had a reservation for a dumpster up to 3:00 on June 23, 2025 at my old house. When I realized I would need it another day, I called to see if I could get an extension. Christina answered the phone and told me that would be fine, I just needed to pay another $150. I thought that was reasonable so I said go ahead. I had plans to go back to my old house to haul out the rest of my junk, so I drive to my old house the afternoon on the 24th. The buyers were moving in the next morning - the 25th. When I pulled up there was no dumpster there. So I'm like WTF? I call them and I get Christina again. I ask her what happened to my dumpster and she said they took it. English isn't her first language, so I couldn't understand fully what she was saying, and she kept talking over me when I was trying to ask questions, and I finally got so frustrated with her, I told her to shut the F up for a second so I can explain what's going on, and she kept raising her voice and just hung up on me. I kept calling back, but they could see my number so they wouldn't answer the phone. So I called from a different number and someone who claimed to have authority said the day to them, ends when your previous day started. In this case, according to their rules, another day means only until that time the next day. So I have stuff I HAVE to move or I'll be in violation of my contract. I told the guy this and the matter of urgency, so I asked him if he could send me another one in the next hour, and he said he could, it would just be another $250. I said, I already paid for the extension, and he said well that was only for 3:00 today, so if you need another one, we can send one but it will cost $250. The whole transaction was based on a misunderstanding, but at the time, I was just desperate for a solution. I told him I don't think I should have to pay for it, and he said he had to talk to his boss and see if that was something he could do. I sat on hold for a long time, and started talking to someone who I assumed was the boss. I explained the situation and the guy wanted me to hold while he listened to the tape of the conversation, and then the phone went dead so I figured he hung up on me based on the customer service I had received so far. So, I had to call 1-800-JUNK and paid $428 to have them pick up what I could have just thrown out because they were the only ones who could help me at that time. No, I don't expect this company to reimburse me, but the lesson is this - and I've spent a career in the customer service field, providing excellent customer service is what all successful companies do well. If you don't do it well, your company will fail eventually. It would have cost this owner $250 to take my word and not charge me for the dumpster because of what even he acknowledged, was a miscommunication. He would have been a hero. I would have given this company 5 stars and referred them to everyone I know. Instead, this owner with short-ranged business vision, values the $250 more than a 5-star review which ultimately, would have brought him much more than $250, but now he gets this instead. I ordered my Humpty Dump roll off on a Thursday and it was delivered on Saturday morning (they were so quiet I never even knew it was delivered. ) They sent me a courtesy text that it was on its way and the pricing was the lowest in town and I shopped all. I bought a duplex 2 months ago. Needed a total of 4 30 yard roll offs to clean the place up. My first three were rented from waste solutions at 487. Per roll off. I went with Humpty Dumpty on the fourth at 400. Where they get you is at the weight. Was charged an additional 177 for being overweight? I'll add pictures of the basic house stuff I threw away. I was checking prices for a 20 yard dumpster, and these guys popped up, so I put in my request online, hey told me the price for a week( they were way more reasonable then anyone else) and the earliest day they could come out. At the time I called, they were only 2 days out! They sent me the invoice to pay, and that was it! It was such an easy process! On the day of delivery,the driver who was delivering the roll off gave me a call when he was 30 min out. I explained where I wanted the dumpster, and that was that.
