Solid breakfast all around. The crab cake eggs Benedict was the highlight flavorful, perfectly poached, and topped with Otto sauce. The barbacoa chilaquiles were hearty and well-seasoned with just the right kick, and the French toast was thick, soft, and not overly sweet. Everything came out hot and fresh and definitely worth coming back.

Overnight oats at Humo are amazing and delicious. The presentation and overall flavor will keep me coming back!

This restaurant is super cute and quaint! The chef has traveled the world, and his dishes display his inspiration to where he has been and what he has learned. I highly recommend this unique hidden gem.

It was popping when we got there, so we had about a 25 minute wait. It took them a little while to take our order, but once they did, the food was made and delivered in a timely manner. I, of course, got the cinnamon roll pancakes short stack, and they were absolutely divine. No need for butter or syrup, they were perfectly delicious as is, cinnamon swirl included?!? and icing glaze as well. Another favorite was the chile relleno omelette - the poblano pepper on top added some smokiness along with the steak, and the sour cream and cheese cooled it down. Bacon and canadian bacon on point. A solid breakfast spot! Don't miss out on the cinnamon roll pancakes! *Cinnamon Roll pancakes, short stack *Cowboy Breakfast: eggs, biscuits with country gravy, bacon *Chile Relleno Omelette: fajita steak, green peppers, onions, tomatoes, & cheese, topped with ranchero sauce, sour cream, green onion, feta cheese *Pancakes & Eggs: 2 cinnamon roll pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage *Sides: grilled ham, bacon, hash browns

The waffle and the omelette were both a bit bland. I don't think the shrimp were seasoned much. I did enjoy the biscuit. It was the best aspect of the meal. I was in a rush, but think the experience would have been better if I sat down and got the food fresh.

My wife and I were in San Antonio overnight and stopped here for breakfast in the morning. We both ordered the Tejas Scramble, a wonderful combination of freshly scrambled eggs, cheese, onion, avocado, tomatoes, etc., with an excellent salsa rojo to top it off. Crispy hashbrowns and a half a biscuit rounded it all out nicely. The coffee is solid and so is the service--counter service to order, but your food is brought to your table. It all tasted fresh and freshly made. This honestly one of those places that makes me mad my doctor told me to cut down on carbs because the pancakes looked straight up terrific. But I wasn't at all disappointed with what I got, and the folks who run the Labor Street Cafe are nice as can be. It's also in a cool little part of San Antonio, so there's plenty reason to visit.

It is absolutely deserving of its 4.7+ rating on Yelp! The fluffy, tender, slightly crispy buttermilk pancakes are what dreams are made of! My husband ordered the Tejas Scramble: scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, onions, avocado and tomatoes, served with crispy hashed browns and toast with butter and homemade jam. He said everything was cooked to perfection! The coffee is good, too!! Everything is made in house, from scratch. The owner, Kevin, came out to check on us and we got to hear a bit about his passion for the area and what it took to renovate the property into a restaurant. The walls have beautiful art from local artists. It was a refreshing and delightful experience away from the river walk crowds. If we lived in the area, this would be our go-to place. When we left, we felt like we had made a friend. God bless this little cafe filled with great food and warm hearted owners.

We had breakfast tacos, waffles, coffee, and a few other breakfast items, and everything was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. The coffee was especially good. What surprised me most was how much more this place is than a restaurant. The historic home, museum rooms, gift shop, bakery counter, and beautifully maintained grounds make it feel like a destination rather than just a place to grab breakfast. The atmosphere reminded me of visiting a family home that has been lovingly preserved for generations. There is so much history throughout the property, yet it still feels warm and welcoming instead of formal. I was also impressed by the gift shop. It's packed with Pioneer products, baking mixes, Texas-made goods, and unique souvenirs. The bakery case alone is worth checking out because the desserts are enormous and looked amazing. We happened to visit on a rainy morning, so there was no wait. After seeing the property and experiencing the food, I completely understand why people are willing to line up on busy days. If you're visiting San Antonio, I would recommend giving yourself extra time here. Come for breakfast, stay to explore the house, browse the gift shop, and walk the grounds. It's a place that feels uniquely Texan and unlike anywhere else I've visited.

Be prepared for a wait since seating is first-come, first-served and the restaurant gets quite busy. Fortunately, the wait didn't feel long at all because we were able to explore the surrounding historic neighborhood while waiting for our table. Once seated, there was a bit of a wait for the food ( hence 4 stars), but it was well worth it. Everything tasted fresh and made to order. Our server, Martin, was fantastic. He was friendly, attentive, and provided excellent customer service throughout our visit. The house coffee was a standout. It had a unique blend of spices that gave it a rich, flavorful taste unlike a regular cup of coffee. For food, we ordered the sweet waffle, and it was rich and buttery. The pancakes were light, fluffy, and equally delicious. The biscuits were soft, buttery, and flaky, while the gravy was flavorful. Overall, a wonderful dining experience with great food, excellent service, and a beautiful atmosphere. I would definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area.
