    Awesome Israeli food!

Fresh, clean, local authentic! Probably the healthiest takeout in Ardmore and so flavorful. I ordered the beef kabob today - similar to the Iranian - koobideh and Turkish - kofta kabobs. Diff spices. Kabobs are grilled so not greasy. Crunch red cabbage salad with olive oil and a light salt and vinegar- cucumber tomato dill - freshly made and the hummus perfect texture. The green herb hot sauce is the bomb! Herbs with some chili. The bread looks like it comes delivered fresh from a bakery. Super soft and delicious. Catering family get together for Xmas- they are vegan so I ordered the falafel - which is the best I've had . The owner is super nice. Support local but the winner is eat healthier. Hummus Kitchen! Yay!

I stopped by on my way home on a Saturday evening. I wasn't sure what I wanted so I played it safe and went to my go to staple, salmon - I ordered a grilled salmon platter with rice, hummus, Israeli salad and pickled purple cabbage and it came with a warm, wheat pita. I paid for my food and then waited - I was told that the food may take 20 to 25 mins but I'm sure it took less time :-) Overall I enjoyed my food; the salmon was cooked perfectly and the hummus had good flavor.

I'm torn between a 2 and a 3 today. I got the veggie platter with rice, cucumber, carrots, and pita. I also got fries for later. The carrots were extreeeeeeeemely over seasoned and the rest of the food had no seasoning at all. It was confusing. I really thought just some salt on each item could make it so much more flavorful. The pita was nice and fluffy and soft, so I enjoyed it. Overall I'd order from here again but definitely no carrots and definitely need some salt packets (which I never normally use). Edit: Moving this down to a 2, since I found out that they put ALL the salt in their fries. That's where it went. Almost inedible.

Side of Fried Carrots and Cauliflower $5.50

If I weren't comparing this to the former Hummus Grille which we love and still visit in University City, I'd probably think the food were slightly better, but... Food was good. We had the falafel sandwich which was much much too dry and all the good stuff was distributed to the bottom of the pita. They were out of tzatziki, too. We had a side of hummus which we generously applied to the sandwich for moisture. Good flavors though. We had a side of French fries which were good. Moist like I like them . Wish I had some tzatziki to dip them into though!! We also had a side of the cauliflower and carrots which I think were the best part of the meal. The carrots were delicious! $5.50 for the small portion (see photo) is expensive though! All in all, pretty good food. The wait though...as others have said, they don't have their timing down. We waited and waited like the others!

Treated my oldest daughter to lunch here recently and she loved it! She is rather hard to impress, since she and her fiancé are always going out to all kinds of fancy restaurants, so I was tickled pink that she loved Hummus. Momma did good LOL! Oh, and my 8 month old grandson loved it too - he couldn't get enough hummus or chicken shwarma. The two ladies there smiled at him and didn't seem to have any problem with him being there. He even squealed a time or two, but it was no big deal.

Combination platter of Schwarma and chicken. Contains french fries, fried eggplant, baba ganouch, falafel, hummus and a pita.

There isn't a ton of Israeli restaurants in the Philly area so this place breaks the monotony of pizza places, cheesesteak joints and take out Chinese. The food here is excellent but the price is a bit steep. After all though it is located on the Main line. It's hard to find a place with authentic Schwarma rotating on a horizontal spit but this place has it and it is succulent. The veggie sides are all fresh and full of flavor. Great outdoor deck and BYO.

This is a multicourse journey through Marrakesh that cannot be repeated anywhere else except for maybe in the real Marrakesh. From the Bastilla pastry, which is DIVINE, to the salads, the chicken and kebabs... all the way to the baklava and tea.... there is no bad bite at Marrakesh. The owners are welcoming and super amenable and make you feel like you're coming home every single time you visit. It's in a odd location, and you may feel like you are making a questionable life decision as you walk up the alley to the door, but when you arrive, you realize that in fact, it was one of the best decisions you've made in years!! And if you get really lucky, you also get to see the belly dancers who are top notch! There is not a single thing I can think of to say that Marrakesh needs to improve. It is a one of a kind experience that I feel everyone should have at least once in life!

Since I hadn't been for so long, I ate everything as was prepared - but I'm happy to hear it sounds like they have veg options on their tasting menu. Merion Park Labneh: this labneh is thicker than other restaurants which I really like actually. the photo I insert may be deceiving, as it looks chunky. rest assured, it's absolutely smooth, just a thicker consistency than most labnehs. the spices on it are so so good. I think this is a must get along with a hummus. me and my sister are vegetarian, we share a hummus and a labneh and are decently full after those. we also snack on some small plates for the table (fries and olives) and leave full. Israeli Pickles and Olives: comes with two ramekins filled with varying sized pickles, not pitted olives, and some tiny yellow peppers I *think* are either pepper-chinos or at the very least taste similar. they also come with a small ramekin for the olive pits. The yellow peppers are very spicy, but I loved them. the olives are green, and i'd consider them friendly olives for those who are particular around olives. pickles were great as expected. French Fries: easy order for the table. portion is large and I think $8 is a steal for the quantity and quality. comes with a yummy ketchup my sister loves (she is considered a ketchup hater). COCONUT MALABI: I did not know what to expect. and honestly, first bite I was a bit confused by the texture, but by the end, I really liked it. its a thick pudding consistency, smooth, has a decent bounce to it, not too sweet at all, subtle coconut flavor. has a strawberry (I think) jam situation on top with some sort of crunchy thing. will be getting that again for sure. we had three people split this and it was enough. would consider getting two for four people though. service was quick, efficient, and kind. love the atmosphere. it has a sort of lively fun vibe to it. also we were in and out pretty quick without being rushed at all which is nice. just efficient. Also, I haven't tried them yet but they have a good little mocktail menu for those who don't drink!

If you haven't been since the renovation, be prepared for an entirely new, full-service restaurant space complete with a revamped menu, including entree plates, hummus, sandwiches, and desserts. The standout of the restaurant is still the hummus with jammy egg, but dishes like the sabich are very tasty (if not a little salty) in their own right. The atmosphere is fun and trendy while still being casual, and the cocktails are a fun pairing with the food. Overall, 4.5/5.

From the outside, it doesn't look like much; in fact, it looks like a bit of a dive from outside. But when you walk in, you are transported. The design of the restaurant is so special - community tables, pillows, tapestries, waterfall features, tiles, and belly dancing. The food was a little inconsistent. We shared many dishes: Bastilla (baked layers of filo dough, eggs, chicken, almonds, sprinkled with cinnamon and powdered sugar); hummus (chickpeas, tahini, crushed garlic, lemon juice, sprinkled with paprika and olive oil, served with pita bread); Spanakopita; salad trio (eggplant salad, cucumber and tomato salad, and carrot salad); lamb tagine (stew of lamb, onions, and roasted peppers topped with honey and served with rice); Moroccan chicken with harissa cumin sauce; mujaddara (cracked bulgur wheat cooked with lentils and caramelized onions); and mint tea. I wish they didn't serve bottled waters, and the food was mostly good but not the most consistent. Our mujaddara wasn't served with the yogurt sauce listed on the menu, and the lamb with the tagine was incredibly fatty, making some of it inedible. The mint tea was really really really sweet - like syrup! I also wish the bastilla had a little less powdered sugar (I like on the dish, but it was A LOT of powdered sugar), and it was quite dry. But the eggplant salad, carrot salad, hummus, and mujaddara (even without the yogurt sauce) were great. I would happily have eaten just those dishes. They were busy - it's a popular place - but service was also a challenge. It took us almost a half hour to get the check and pay. I had to ask for the bill twice and then it still took a while to get it, for it to get picked up, and for it to come back to us. It's pretty bad if I'm considering walking up to the bar to get the check and pay. I loved the ambiance and the character. I loved that you can't tell how amazing it's going to be inside when you see the outside of the building - it's a surprise for sure. Our experience was that the food was a bit inconsistent, but it certainly was a fun meal.
