I would have missed it walking around downtown Golden, but it is the cutest, comfiest, & warm shop. 10/10 would recommend the BGolden breakfast sandwich(beware, it is a little pricy - $15). Sadie, who was working the front the Saturday we went, was SO sweet. Great & fast service. Lots of seating inside, but it fills up fast. Wow! Can we say, "Best coffee house ever?!" This adorable, cozy, place is amazing!!! Not only is the menu incredible (with daily coffee specials that are to-die for!), the entire cafe was designed to pay it forward and give back to communities in need. How wonderful to be able to shop, eat, and hang with such a fabulous, mission-driven, ethical-focused establishment. And with such humility, which is soooo rare to find these days! Even with all of the awards they have won. It is truly a shining star for this community. One of the things that I found, while waiting for the bathroom, was this little mailbox with postcards next to it. You could write a postcard to a child at Children's Hospital and they would would put a stamp on it and mail it. I absolutely LOVED that and did it! Also, if you want to purchase gifts, they have a little store in the front, where you can support small and women-owned businesses. If only every coffee house could be like Humble House! Using Yelp I found Humble House Cafe that was opening soon and wasn't too far away from where we were staying. Honestly, though, it was their menu item of Carrot Cake French Toast that caught my eye. I normally don't go for sweet for breakfast but every now and again something just sounds too yummy to pass up. Going inside I wasn't sure exactly how they worked it but I could see that the place was small with a limited number of tables and even small number left available so I helped myself after a minute to a table and then noticed the menus were at the front desk so grabbed one for myself. You order up there, then sit down and they bring you the food. I took my time reviewing everything just in case there was something else that sounded better than the Carrot Cake French Toast but there wasn't... or at least for what I was in the mood for that day. I ordered and service was quick to bring everything out. The french toast, given the type was pretty dense but very filling but oh so good. I enjoyed my breakfast and read over some of the travel books they had out about Colorado, Denver, and Golden to see if there was anything in the area that I was not aware of that sounded fun. This cafe is so cozy and fun. They have amazing drink specials and also the traditional ones. Cute little gifts at the front like kombucha, mugs, journals and fun tinctures. Such a charming cafe!! My partner and I visited Humble House Cafe while on a weekend trip to Denver, and it was one of my favorite spots we checked out. It's hard to say what I liked most -- the vibes are extremely cozy, the decor is cute, the staff is unbelievably friendly, and the food is tasty. It's a pretty popular spot, with a 15+ minute line streaming out their door when we arrived around 10 AM, but I can absolutely see why. I especially loved the pay it forward wall by the cashier, where folks could contribute a few dollars to a specific profile of future patron (e.g., newlyweds on their honeymoon, new moms, someone struggling with X). Food-wise, we split a latte, a classic vegetarian breakfast sandwich, and their vegetarian breakfast platter. Everything was outstanding: the croissant was nice and buttery, and it went wonderfully with the fried egg, generous portion of creamy avocado, and sliced tomato. The slice of cheddar and aioli helped to bind the whole sandwich together and created a really wholesome bite. The breakfast platter was equally delicious, with two nicely scrambled eggs (which were very cutely presented as circles, similar to the fried egg) served with an array of fresh veggies and a herbaceous, fresh crema. All told, we probably spent several hours here after eating to read, chat, and work together. This is such a cute spot to grab coffee, with a good amount of indoor and outdoor seating. It wasn't too busy when we arrived, but by the time we left there was a line out the door. The interior is very welcoming and cozy. I got the Iced Honduran Latte, which was absolutely delicious and just sweet enough. To eat, I got the Avocado Toast, which was yummy but tiny. For $10 I wish it was a little larger. We also tried the Cinnamon Roll, which was good but nothing special. I would return here for the coffee, and their breakfast sandwiches, which looked like a much better portion size compared to the Avocado Toast. read more

Very cute and humble breakfast/lunch spot in Golden :) Stumbled in during a trip and enjoyed the quick counter service. The environment inside is very cozy and lots of people were working on their laptops. They have free WiFi so it's a perfect spot for it. They have a good amount of seating inside and even more in the back outside. My husband ordered Rosie the Riveter bagel sandwich and I got the B*Golden Croissant sandwich. Both were good but the B*Golden Croissant definitely came out on top. The honey and goat cheese were SO GOOD and it was a great mix of sweet and savory. I can tell they do great business here because they were low on silverware and completely out of knives. When I asked the kitchen for a knife they had to wash one for me and bring it out but it was still a little dirty which is the only reason I couldn't do 5 stars. read more

Quick coffee date and walk on the Clear Creek trail! Was surprised waking into Humble House as it was packed full on a Monday morning at 10am. Location is right downtown with some good merchandise at the front. Service was fairly quick with seating at the front while we waited. My Eggnog latte was heavy on the milk and I would have liked more coffee flavor but still nicely made with a cute design on top. Bathrooms were well cleaned but the changing table proved difficult for a diaper change as it was very high on the wall. Overall a nice coffee shop and they must be doing something right to have so many people! read more

Coffee with a purpose can be enjoyed here at Humble House Cafe. The meticulously designed and decorated shop on Golden's main drag pops visually and makes you feel at home from the moment you walk in. After doing some digging on their website, I came to discover that the owner had opened Generous Coffee Shop in Tributary Food Hall. Unfortunately the food hall closed, but now they have a stunning space just a block away. When you set foot in Humble House Cafe gravitates towards the beautiful exposed brick, hanging plants, and lovely artwork. The shop is filled with retail items from local artisans, purveyors, and producers. They have a large breakfast and brunch menu (that we didn't get to try this time), coffees, teas, smoothies, etc. They even have a back patio with a cute camper that can be reserved online! I ordered a cortado and my wife ordered a drip coffee. Mine hit the spot, but hers left a little to be desired. We get it, the coffee was probably sitting for awhile since the shop wasn't far off from closing for the day. Though we thoroughly enjoyed shacking up inside the shop. Very comfortable chairs IMO. A nice addition to Downtown Golden that I didn't know was necessary until we walked in and checked it out. They work with many non profit organizations and have a strong sense of community. First time here and ordered a breakfast burrito with sausage. It took about 25 minutes for the order to come out which felt a little long for a breakfast burrito. The staff were friendly enough, and the location and ambience are fine. I waited out on the back patio until my burrito arrived and then took it to go. Unfortunately, the burrito itself was a disappointment. It was overloaded with a Velveeta type of cheese that really took away from any of the other ingredients which were somewhat bland anyway. I'll probably give it another try or maybe get a cup of coffee there but my first impression was meh. I definitely won't get another burrito. Super cute place with lots of fun drinks and yummy looking food, but the GF bagels are really dry and they gave me caffeinated coffee instead of the decaf I ordered. I got Rosie the Riveter sandwich which was really good but the gf bagel was quite bad (dense, super chewy, and dry). So for all my GF buddies maybe try the English muffin? I didn't try that but it might be better. Also I got a pumpkin mallow latte which was DELICIOUS! But unfortunately it was certainly not decaf. Everything here was absolutely wonderful from the coffee the, the amazing Pecan sticky bun... savory sweet crunchy gooey just perfect!! Then we where waiting the poor place was slammed this morning and my husband ordered a banana smoothie I heard they where out of bananas and wanted to make there day a little less difficult and let them know they could replace it, but Noah and Wylder insisted on making it and making it perfectly! A must-stop coffee shop in Golden! Huge menu, reasonable prices, and an incredible mission! Our coffees were delicious- love all of the unique flavors and offerings. They have a "pay it forward" board for anyone to utilize as well as an awesome rewards program that lets you earn $ tokens that you then designate to one of their three selected charities. All of this fantastic, but greatest of all was the Elvis Twist waffles. Hands-down best waffles I've ever had, the combo of flavors- bacon, Nutella, PB, cinnamon, banana! just melds perfectly-- HIGHLY recommend. We also tried the classic breakfast Sammie with sausage- the maple syrup is strong, so if sweet and savory isn't your jam, maybe have it on the side. On the surface this looks like a mom and pop coffee shop, but it is much, much more! Here a some thoughts: -It has a GREAT breakfast menu! It is much more than bagels & breakfast sandwich (see attached menu). -This place is a hole in the wall, with a younger vibe, neighborhood favorite feel, and the service is very good! -They have unusual coffee flavors like peach cobbler and mint vanilla. This is really a beautiful, cozy and inviting space. The concept is really touching as they have cards for free gift cards from strangers for people who need them or are suffering a certain thing etc. I wasn't humble enough to take to take one though it brought me to tears. They remember your name even if you come one time during your visit you're a human with a name. Vanilla latte was perfect and excellent quality. I highly recommend. Wow, either our 3.5 hour hike expended us or Humble House has some of the most delicious sandwiches ever! The shop is small and cozy (and crowded), but the flavors are anything but. They were out of some key ingredients before noon the day we went, like ham, so they were able to put scrambled eggs in my sandwich as a substitute. And boy, the Galileo sandwich was exquisite! Unsuspectingly simple looking, combination of creamy mozzarella slices (and scrambled eggs in my case) with the crusty and chewy French bread was awesome. The roast red peppers threatened to fall out of the sandwich with each bite, while the pesto aioli, balsamic glaze had me licking my fingers. One of the best sandwiches I've had in recent memory for sure! They also have cookies from Flour Shoppe, and I devoured the chai snickerdoodle and peanut butter flavors, somehow gluten free but soft, melt-in-your-mouth, and soooo good! The service was friendly but our orders got a little messed up and after a suspiciously long wait, we asked if our drinks would be ready and it turned out our orders never went through. They apologized and we eventually got our drinks. Even with this mishap, the sandwich and cookies earn them top marks on this visit. Cute little space overall, usually quite busy I was told, but you order at the front counter near the entry. There's one restroom for the place which can be a drag if someone is in there for a while. The ambience is adorable, it's super cute exposed brick and a lot of little gifty things to look at, but the register is definitely in the wrong place because a line piles up out the door. We started with the Honduran latte, Haitian latte, and the berry açaí latte, all the drinks were great! We then ordered the Clara Barton, Rosie the Riveter, and the BGolden Sammie. Rosie the riveter was the best, the Clara Barton and BGolden both had WAY too much goat cheese, the ratio of this to everything else was very off and the primary flavor. The other thing is that it was literally $45 for two breakfast sandwiches and two lattes which in my opinion is pretty steep. Lovely spot in Golden, the moment I walked in I knew it was a perfect place to meet a friend for a cup of coffee. We were seated immediately and had plenty of room. I also noticed for a walk up and order spot, everyone there went out of their way to bring us something or make our visit easier. Their coffee is amazing but their breakfast food is next level. My friend I split the Rosie the Riveter with sausage and the classic sausage Sammie. Both were very tasty and filling. I loved the pesto and balsamic touch on the bagel sandwich and the croissant was so soft and flakey on the other! Picnic tables out front that we enjoyed on a beautiful sunny day! The shop is nicely decorated and lots of tables to get work done. The staff member who took our order was very patient and gave great recommendations. Honduran latte was fantastic. The coffee is amazing and the yogurt parfait is top notch. When you walk in, you'll order at the front and the cashier will guide you in the next steps of where to get your coffee and food. Although you tell them you want your drink and food to go- they don't place lids on anything so you have to do that yourself. I didn't mind that at all, but no one told me or directed me to the lids. It's easy to find, but it would've add a little more personality to the experience. They have an outdoor patio which was beautiful and their indoor experience was cozy. I had mixed feelings about the cashier, he seemed nice but also not interested. Overall, food and coffee were great in my opinion.
