I requested by phone and text that he return the deposit, as it seemed he could not, or would not, complete the work. He agreed, and in good faith, I believed him. He has not fulfilled his promise, and now I am compelled to pursue every legal means to collect. I caution everyone wanting to do business with Gates the Right Way: BEWARE. I believe it's a scam.

After doing a thorough search on Yelp and Google, we reached out to 5 different companies. Not only did Kyler reach out to us within 20 minutes on a weekend, he also provided photos of his previous work and the craftsmanship definitely shows. (Another company actually just gave us canned AI responses, which allowed us to appreciate a small local business like KC Duran even more) We were back up with a sturdy beautiful backyard gate by Monday morning! The price was extremely competitive and we're no longer anxious about our dogs escaping from the backyard. Thanks again for providing such efficient quality work!

But after showing up ready to replace our garage door opener we decided not to have them do the work. Why? They offered us three different choice in openers, one of them being the exact brand/model we almost purchased from Home Depot for $489. To purchase the one they had supplied on their truck, they quoted us a price of $1098 and $250 for the install. That's a 122% mark-up from retail on the unit. The mark up on the two models they offered were between 90 and 120% as well. Considering Goody probably gets their units at, or near, wholesale, that's around a 150% profit margin. I expect, and am all for, a company making a profit on selling their customers a market up price on a unit, but doing so at more that double the retail price is borderline unethical.

Definitely recommend contacting him for your project if he services your area. Note I like to be able to see the kids playing in the backyard which is why there's gaps in the fencing! I wish I had seen some of these reviews before I purchased a gate from Ken. My experience is very…read moresimilar to some of the others who have left a bad review. Let me start with the pro's. The price was reasonable and the gate was completed and installed as promised by Ken. At first glance it looked like a good deal. Now the con's. There is a 1" gap on one side of the gate. The other side is not as wide, which is nice but the gate started sagging and the lock does not line up so it doesn't lock properly. The gate will not stay locked and it will open when the handle is jiggled or if there is a windy day. The paint started chipping around the lock. The gate had to be adjusted so much that the deadbolt rubs on the strike plate screws. I had to have them come over multiple times to adjust the gate and it still doesn't work satisfactorily. Ken refused to acknowledge the poor quality and for that alone I cannot recommend them. If you are looking for a new gate I recommend you shop around and spend the extra money to get a professional one that works properly. See photos and video for details.

The project was a list of items prior to the sale of the home and Chad was on time, on budget and the quality of the work was excellent. It won't be long before word gets out. I can do a lot of work myself, but at this level of quality and affordability why would I?
