I wandered in to the Humanitree House because I was visiting Augusta with my boyfriend and we wanted to walk along the river with some smoothies. I completely understand why people rave about this place. SMOOTHIES: Delicious. There's a variety of options and they're all vegan. I had the Bee Alive ($7.50?) which had raw sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds, cacao, strawberries, blueberries & bee pollen. Yum. Bae got the Subliminator ($7?) which was apple, banana, blueberry, cherry flax, vegan protein, spirulina, pb, coconut oil. His was heavy on the peanut butter but still tasty. AMBIANCE: So freaking cool. The walls are covered with art from local artists for sale, which are largely of black and African American subjects. The art is fantastic and I really enjoyed walking around and looking at all of it. A friend of mine, who's an Augusta native was showing me around town when both of us started to work up a mean appetite. I was in the mood for something light and fresh so she recommended we come here. This place is an art lover's dream. Every part of the restaurant is painted with murals and one of a kind pieces made by the owner. The menu is Vegan focused ranging from wraps to salads and juices ( some of which are already prepared). We had a hard time deciding what we wanted to order so the cashier helped us choose the best meals. I got the Vegan Burger with The Warrior. The smoothie was a little too powdery for me. This is probably the most vegan friendly eatery I've been to. I was shocked to find such a gem in the south, but low and behold there it was 5 mins from the highway in Augusta. I was originally concerned it would have strong beet flavor (not a fan of beets) but it didn't at all. You could tell it was made in house. I was hoping to eat it with fries. But all they had was tortilla chips or cole slaw. The burger was very filling. Also, the owner introduced himself and shared a little about his art and the restaurant. I've wanted an acai bowl since moving to Augusta and didn't hear of anywhere having them until last night when I found this place on yelp... went and checked it out and it did not disappoint. My acai bowl was beautiful and tasted even better. On a whim and with staff suggestion I tried their "summer love" juice that was so good I bought a second before my bowl was even finished being prepared. The service was amazing (so friendly and answered any and all questions I had) and the overall aesthetic of the place was phenomenal. You can definitely tell it's a great place to hang when the dining room is open. The non-smoothie food also smelled amazing and is apparently very healthy and vegan, that will be my next try. Five stars for good vibes. I yelped a place for studying (that had wifi and tea) and naturally I chose the one with the best reviews. There was plenty of street parking although I should have totally road my bike here and sat outside to enjoy the crisp fall air. I ordered a chai which unfortunately I wasn't super impressed with, but I promised myself I wouldn't judge them based off of one chai which I am glad I didn't! I actually scooped up one of their awesome Groupon deals for their fresh pressed juices and they did not disappoint. I ordered "the remedy" which was a carrot ginger pressed juice and I loved it. I still have a couple more juices left on my groupon which I'm looking forward to using to try new flavors. I still haven't tried the food but from what I've heard it's good too, which is lucky for me since I'm a vegetarian and they have options catered to us veg lovers. This is the best place to get 100% vegan food/smoothies/drinks in Augusta. Aside from that, the owners and employees are very welcoming. It's a great environment and is filled with beautiful pieces of art. My girlfriend and I, were skeptical to try vegan food for the first time but the Humanitree did not disappoint us. It's actually part of the reason we decided to go fully vegan. The general manager at Humanitree recommended the ChickUNPhilly & the Jamaican Mon smoothie and since then those items have been my go to. To be honest, you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. The food is tasty and well seasoned and best of all 100% vegan. I'd highly recommend this establishment to anyone looking for a healthy meal and a good environment to enjoy it in. Went here for the first time during lunch and it was really good. I had the avocado sandwich in wrap form and it was everything I hoped it would be. Lots of chunky avocado and a perfectly portioned amount of veggies. My one complaint was that I had some avocado skin with the sticker still on it at the bottom of my wrap. The wrap was good enough for me to look past that, though. I also had the soup of the day which was a sweet potato soup. It was perfect for a cold and rainy day like today. The flavors were outstanding and the sweet potatoes were perfectly cooked. It's probably of the best soups I've ever had. My husband ordered the philly wrap and I had a bite of his. Delicious. To be honest. This place surpassed and left me in absolute awe. The ambiance is very down to earth and rustic. Artistic does not begin to describe the place. Tones of culture, roots and pride cannot even describe how peaceful it is. Unbeknownst to us we actually met the owners who were sitting with their son in a gallery off the main cafe. Baruti (I hope I got that right), explained that his paintings were done in pastel, oils and acrylic media painted on wood and stretched canvas by his hands....no paint brushes. Amazed. The food was amazing as well. I ordered the vegan burger in a wrap with BBQ sauce and vegan cheese. Crazy. Amazing. My husband ordered the eggplant blt made with eggplant bacon. The only thing is the eggplant bacon was hard for our brace faces to bite because of curing. However it was amazingly tasty. My husband ordered a love pusha smoothie and I had a Jamaican smoothie. I really, really, REALLY want to love this place. The vibe is awesome. The staff is very friendly, but... The food...that is the reason for the 3 stars. The food is delicious, but...whenever we order smoothies, 1 or more ingredients is always missing/out of stock. My wife and I visit after the gym for delicious post workout treat. The first 2 times we visited, super on point. Sine then, at least 10 visits, when I order The Recover, cherries are always gone, half the time I'm eating peanut butter instead of cashew butter. One time I was casually watching and the gentleman making the smoothie forgot to add protein and maca root (which I paid extra for). Another time, they had zero ingredients and we had a different smoothie all together. My wife loves Hempnotic. Most of the time it's correct, however, lately something is always being substituted. I want local businesses to thrive. CSRA has enough chains. I live in North Augusta and drive passed a Tropical Smoothie Café to come here. If this trend continues with Humanitree, sadly, I'll have to go somewhere else for our post workout treat. read more

Pros: The place is beautiful! The people were relatively pleasant. Cons: Because they use fresh fruit, I would say eat with CAUTION!!! I saw something similar to a spider web on my blueberry. I decided that I would try to pick it off with the back of my spoon. As I was picking the web I saw a black spot under it. I slightly squeezed the blueberry and out came a WORM. I called and they offered me a new bowl, but I told them I wanted a refund. I received my refund and was sent a receipt it would be returned to my account. Before that the acaį bowl was sort of too sweet for my liking. It didn't have any tartness to it at all. I usually stop by after a workout to get a smoothie, but today I was a little hungry. So, after speaking with Denise(she and he husband own the joint ) ;I decide to eat. I am mot a vegetarian , but I like food and healthy is always good after a workout. So I tried the veggie burger on Ezekiel bread and the kale salad as a side. I also had the cold press juice they call "The Remedy", absolutely refreshing and energizing juice(and all the ingredients are listed and stuff we can pronounce). Food is made to order and they reall have an amazing menu. The atomsphere is fantastic and syper inviting. The art is breathtaking (all painted by hand by Denise's talented husband...I don't want to misspell his name)! Anyway back to the food, ok, so I tried the kale salad and almost lost my mind! The best kale salad I have hands down. It's not a lot in it,but it's a lot in it. The burger was superb to beade with beets it was great. Next time I will try it on the onion bread. The Ezekiel bread was fine, but it was recommended to me to try it on the other bread.Back to the kale salad, it was so good I order a small to go. Beautiful establishment, they always have entertainment going on and great jewelry pieces, bags, and literature for you to checkout while you wait. I usually ge the Green Goddess, it's one of their "juice stars" along with Earth Mama, Beet Trip, and The Remedy just to name a few.
