I reached out to the shelter to ask if they could help me with her wound, they obliged and told me they'd get her fixed for free and bring her back today, 2 days after they picked her up. The manager said they wouldn't help her unless she could be handled and i taught her pets and it's nice to be held with positive reinforcement. I had called and texted for hours before I got the reply that she was sent to another rescue in north Carolina, but wouldn't tell me where, just that she was gone and they weren't going to return her because she was friendly and I have proof that she was supposed to be returned. They apologized and cut me off. I HATE THEM! I WISH NOTHING BUT HORRIBLE THINGS FOR THEM AND WHO THEY LOVE!!! I reached out to them because I'm fighting cancer, heart failure, liver failure, mobility issues and can't drive. I wish them all every bit of my sicknesses as they get whatever is beloved to them is taken away!!! I HATE THEM!!!​ I WANT MY CAT BACK!!!

We adopted a 3 year old pit mix named Preston from MADR last year. Preston was living with a foster family who took great care of him and brought him to adoption events. We saw Preston on Petfinder and fell in love. We called the rescue and talked with his foster mom, Sherry. We could immediately tell how much she cared for her fosters. She gave background on Preston and interviewed us to make sure he would be a good fit. He is high energy and was not trained so he needed an active family of experienced dog owners. We knew he would be perfect as long as he got along with our other dog. We met the rescue in Fayetteville at an adoption event. Sherry was experienced with introducing new dogs. Preston and my other dog, Zeus, thankfully hit it off. Preston immediately took to Zeus and Zeus quickly accepted him as his new younger brother. The rescue offers a trial period before paying the adoption fee. We were very confident Preston would be a perfect fit so we went ahead and paid the fee the same day. The rescue gave us his vet papers, heart worm meds, rabies tag, harness, and leash. Preston was already neutered, microchipped, and up to date on his vaccinations. We love him so much and take him everywhere we can. He loves swimming in the pool, shopping with me, hiking, running, and playing at the dog park. He now knows how to fetch! He is incredibly sweet and certainly high energy. We are very appreciative for Sherry and Making a Difference Rescue. Overall, excellent experience adopting from this rescue and we certainly recommend this rescue to others!

Even if her adopted pet did get kennel cough prior to being adopted that certainly doesn't warrant a negative review. Animals get colds and viruses just like people do and it can't always be avoided especially when they are taking in strays and/or uncared for pets. When you adopt an animal you have a responsibility to care for your new pet and should expect to pay for what ever medical ailment and treatment he/she should need immediately following the adoption process. If you can't afford medical care for unexpected medical issues then you shouldn't be adopting a pet. Thank you Richardson Rescue for protecting animals and saving their lives!!! The owner, Janet, said all emails had been sent out. She said to apply for a second time in case there was some glitch or typo. I applied for a second time on 9/12 around 12pm. Given it was a weekend, she said they would process it Monday or Tuesday. Tuesday, 9/15, I again have zero emails. I messaged her on facebook asking what the status was on my second application, and she said that all emails had been sent out. Again, I had zero emails (including in the spam folder) from them. She apologized over messenger and told me to call the next day between 10 and 3:30 and tell whoever answers the phone that Janet said to apply over the phone. Wednesday, 9/16, I called around 12:40 to no answer and left a voicemail. I didn't receive a single call back, so Thursday, 9/17, I called again around 1:30, to no answer. As of 9/19, he's now been taken off the website, I assume adopted. How can you run a rescue, begging for donations and adopters, yet don't answer people who are genuinely interested. What a scam.

They called us to recommend a fun little beagle named Fiona in 2020. Love at first site. The staff was very helpful and friendly. After 35 yrs of cats, they found us two great dogs.
