These people don't even bother to see their beta fish dead on their display. It is actually so sad and pathetic. I cried when I seen the care they were under and one had been dead for so long it was growing mold. This is a shame and a terrible excuse of a pet store. These employees and management need to do wayyy better if not get rid of them and hire employees that actually care for animals. They get paid way too much to ignore things like this and show no remorse for their actions. I would give negative stars if I could. read more

I bought a clownfish from here and came back a couple days later to find that their entire clownfish section was now dead. The clownfish I bought from there ended up having the ick and spread it to my entire tank killing most of my fish. read more

I spent about half an hour in the aquarium supplies section trying to figure out about how much I should expect to spend to set up a fairly large aquarium and what kind of supplies I need. While I was there, I noticed a staff member working in the department, but she ignored me. After about 15 minutes, a person who appeared to be a manager walked by, also ignoring me. Meanwhile, I continued exploring as an assortment of other staff members came and went, all successfully ignoring me. Eventually I approached the young lady at check out and asked her an aquarium related question. She was pleasant enough, and directed me back to the worker in the aquarium section, indicating she was the aquatics specialist. I knew this person wasn't interested in helping me, but in the interest of giving benefit of the doubt (maybe she was shy) I approached her. I asked her my question. She deigned to answer me without looking me in the eye. Her response was curt, brief, and gruff. Then she turned her back on me and busied herself with something else. The disdain was shocking. I actually stood there a moment, wrapping my mind around her blatant boorishness - not wanting to believe she was being rude intentionally. But she made no attempt to clarify her behavior, further assist me, or make a recommendation. I will not spend one more penny in Petco. She could have had a large sale. So I've been going to Petco for my dogs grooming for years. I made an appointment for one of my babies about 3 weeks ago. I always set it up online to make it easier and quicker. I received notifications that I needed to bring in his updated rabies vaccines. I received text messages reminding me of my appointment. I received text messages to confirm my appointment. What I didn't receive was the message that they were no longer grooming animals that had a heart murmur. It's a new policy change. It's not mentioned anywhere online or in the store that they wouldn't service my baby. Why am I angry? Not because they changed the policy but because they waited until I took off work, drove 30 minutes, loaded the dog into the car and drove there. All the big dope manager would say is, "it's a new policy. there is nothing I can do. Have a nice day." My records have always shown the murmur so they should have let me know that this was the case. I will never shop there or visit that store again. They are inconsiderate of how they treat their customers. I reached out to corporate and I have yet to hear anything back. I'D GIVE 0 STARS IF POSSIBLE!!! MANAGER OF GROOMING IS VERY HATEFUL, DISRESPECTFUL AND UNPROFESSIONAL! Apparently everyone in the grooming area need training! Made an appointment over a week ago for complete grooming for 2 poodle puppies ... was told on the phone to allow 4 hours for this service. Arrived today ... they aren't on the books for full groom, only face and feet! So, when we start questioning what happened, and why we were told it would be 4 hours if they were only down for face and feet, which is only 20 minutes ... we were treated as if it was our fault that is didn't get booked correctly. EVEN THE STORE MANAGER DID NOTHING! SHE ALLOWED THIS GROMMET TO BE RUDE AND HATEFUL, AND JUST STOOD THERE AND LISTENED ... DID NOTHING TO RESOLVE THE ISSUE! I would give 0 stars if I could. I went in this store to purchase plants for my fish tank. The first thing I notice is the massive amount of Bettas they had in stock and then I noticed just how many of them were dead. They had four dead Bettas on the bottom shelf pushed to the very back and covered up with other products that were for sell. You could clearly tell they had been there for awhile. As I walked around the rest of the fish tanks they had in store I saw countless more dead fish and even some fish feeding on the dead ones. As a fish owner and pet lover I was sick to my stomach seeing this and I will NEVER be going back. Please don't spend your money in this store. Just being in this place for 10 minutes ruined my whole day. read more

Took my golden doodle this week and I specifically asked if they had in their system how to groom her based on the petco I usually go to in my hometown- the groomer apparently DID NOT know what to do with a golden doodle. They shaved her ears to her skin, shaved her nose and gave her a bowl cut like Jim Carey in Dumb and Dumber!! Worst cut ever!!! read more

I was asked to pay and they would bring my dog out. I said I would like to see her first. I was SHOCKED when I saw her. I asked " what did you do to my dog?" She was shaved and had choppy scissor marks on each of her legs. I expressed my displeasure and was asked "what do you want me to do, I can't put the hair back on." I was given a 25% coupon, which is given with the first appt. anyway. This was her second appt. I asked were there notes from the previous cut and was told no. Last time she was so cute and this time she was butchered. I was told there is not a "Yorkie" cut but hoped I come back. I said it won't be anytime soon because it will take 6 months for her hair to grow back. Very unhappy! Manager didn't seem very concerned. read more

The grooming price included his nails getting cut. This is one of the reasons I chose Petco. His shampoo and hair cut were okay but the groomer did not cut his nails. She said he wouldn't let her. I thought they were supposed to be professionals. So, now I have to go and pay the vet just to cut his nails. read more

I walked in to buy a pet gold fish, and was told i had to be 18 years old to buy one. So i walked out and got my brother cosin and friend and walked in because my aunt was on the way. The lady rudely told us we had to leave because we came in as 4 and not 2. She could have asked nicely. I didn't end up getting the fish. read more

Received the grand opening coupons and made it a point to purchase some treats for 2 family dogs. One female the other male. Well, I hit the jack pot, or should I say the four legged members hit the jack pot. This company is a dog treat haven. Brands I never purchased and Nic variety and healthy treats. These dogs are treated like royalty. They have excellent diets, eat plenty of treat with berries and fruits, and I found treats for the skin & coat as well as hip and joints. Add all were reasonably prices. Of course there were the favorites, greenies, and sweet potato, pumpkin, duck, and cheese. Can not forget the cheese. read more
