Making the appointment was incredibly simple. I was able to go online, choose the services I needed, and schedule her appointment without any trouble. A $40 deposit is required to hold the appointment, and I was informed that the deposit is lost if you cancel, so definitely keep your appointment once you make it! On the morning of her appointment, I arrived at 7:00 AM. I was already 16th in line, and by the time the doors opened, more than 20 additional people with their pets had arrived behind me. This place is BUSY, which honestly says a lot about how many people trust them with their pets. The doors open at 7:30 AM, so if you're taking your pet, be prepared to wait outside and dress appropriately for the weather. I waited about an hour total before I was checked in and able to drop Ember off. One thing I would definitely recommend is making sure you tell them about ANY medical concerns, no matter how small you think they may be. The veterinarian will evaluate your pet, and you'll also be asked if you would like to purchase pain medication for your pet after surgery. GET THE PAIN MEDICATION! For Ember, it was only about $3 a day for a 3-day supply, and to me, that was absolutely worth it. I wanted to make sure she was as comfortable as possible while recovering from her surgery. Ember's surgery was scheduled for 10:30 AM. At 2:15 PM, I received a text letting me know she was ready to be picked up. I also received an email with the remaining balance. The $40 deposit I had already paid was applied toward the remaining balance, which made the payment process really convenient. Since I knew there could be another line when I arrived, I went inside and waited. They were actually able to get Ember to me around 2:00 PM, which was wonderful. When Ember came home, she was VERY groggy, which was completely expected after surgery. She was wearing a cone, and that poor girl had absolutely no idea what to do with it. She would try to walk and end up walking backward because the cone kept getting caught on everything. She barely moved and mostly slept the entire evening. The next day, I decided to purchase a 3 pack of anti-lick recovery suits for her because I thought it might be more comfortable than the cone. We took the cone off and put the little suit on her. You would have thought I put a 10-pound weighted vest on her! She just laid on the floor and refused to move. She wouldn't walk, wouldn't do much of anything, and looked at us like we had completely betrayed her. But by the following day, it was like we had our Ember back! She was running around, playing, eating normally, and acting like her usual self again. She recovered so quickly, and everything went exactly as we hoped it would. I am extremely thankful to Humane Fort Wayne for taking such good care of my girl. From scheduling the appointment, check-in, the veterinary evaluation, surgery, vaccines, microchipping, pain medication, communication, payment, and pickup, the entire process was organized and straightforward. Yes, it is busy. Yes, you may have to wait. Yes, you need to arrive prepared for a crowd. But knowing how many people were there with their pets that morning, it was obvious that Humane Fort Wayne is providing an incredibly important service to the community. I would absolutely recommend them to anyone looking for affordable, professional, compassionate care for their pets. Thank you, Humane Fort Wayne, for taking care of our sweet Ember and helping us give her the healthy, happy start she deserves. 5 stars from us, without a doubt! And now, thankfully, Ember is completely back to being Ember -- running, playing, eating, and keeping the entire household on their toes!

I was told to look over 3 isles to find what was looking for. Couldn't find it. They had one cashier and a long line, so maybe it was a short staffed day there, still, customer service is a must. They have animal services and some cats to adopt out. They have a nice array of outfits for pets etc but are lacking in the treat department and again, customer service.

They didn't give them their toys either. One of the toys has a rawhide ring on it and it wasn't touched. On the ride home he got the ring off in the first 5 mins in the car! I prepared all the food for both dogs in bags so all they had to do is dump it in their bowls. I did provide pumpkin for my little guy this time and it was twice as much pumpkin than he needed. They didn't give me my container back or the extra pumpkin. His name and the amount he needed was on the container. There are a lot more issues but I don't have the time to type them all out. The owner has been made aware of the issues and has not responded to my email about how she can make this right. I asked that they start giving a military discount in honor of my boys. Maybe $5 a stay would be great to remember how badly they were treated so they don't do that to another poor dog. I will never trust them with my boys again! To your response. Your staff knew that we are a military family and said that you don't have a military discount! Because I asked! The reason the boys were there were for all military reasons! I gave you days to reply to my second message about how you could make things right and you never did! The first email I sent you never responded to!
