Every item does have a memory tied to it and is very difficult to let go though I've been making new memories and have been filtering some items that have no use especially when it's been tucked away for year without knowing it was there I know it was time to downsize. Many items in my opinion is in great condition as is still deeply loved know that it will still be enjoyed by someone else will let it go and love to take it to several drop off location so that it's not taken to the landfill which is actually the saddest thing in my onion. This Salvation Army location in Kailua is quite massive and my favorite place to browse, very organized and with probably one of the largest selection of furniture is found here it's a great place to search for that find. Parking though is the worse as there's just a few stalls and for shoppers that's doing the hard search I found it impossible to wait for a stall as I just double parked after placing my donation in the bin provided right outside I walked in for quick browse but decided not to search too hard to only to return items back home lol! Great place with lots of find...come see here! Thank you!

Magical Train Ride Adventure!…read more We absolutely loved our experience on the historic Hawaiian Railway -- such a unique and beautiful way to explore Oahu's west side! From start to finish it was pure aloha vibes and family fun! Prices: Standard train ride tickets were around $18 for adults and $13 for kids (ages 2-12) (kids under 2 are free!), and we felt it was worth every penny for the experience and memories! Parking & Arrival: There's plenty of free parking right at the train station, which made arriving super easy and stress-free. We got there a little early to soak in the atmosphere before departure! Hours & Tour Times: The train runs on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays with departures like 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM, plus a couple of other times depending on the day -- perfect for planning your afternoon. Length & Route: The whole ride is about 90 minutes round-trip, slowly chugging through scenic parts of Oahu's Leeward coast with beautiful views of the ocean and mountains. The narration from the guide made the ride even more interesting! Stops & Fun: One of the best parts was the ice cream stop in Ko Olina -- we all hopped off for a cool treat at a little plaza and waved to neighbors along the way! Photo Ops Everywhere: There were so many spots perfect for photos -- seaside views, cute vintage train cars, and open-air seating made for great candid shots! Plus, we barely saw anyone else there during our ride, so it felt like we had the whole adventure to ourselves. Tips: * Arrive early to grab good seats and explore the train yard * Bring a camera (or phone!) -- the scenery is AMAZING * Don't forget a little extra cash for ice cream! Overall: This was one of our favorite experiences on Oahu -- kid-friendly, super scenic, and just plain fun. We're already talking about going back again next time!

It's a slow-paced easy ride with a narration of the area's past history and current status. Once the train entered onto the Ko Olina property the views were beautiful, especially up the sea cost. Passengers on both sides of the railcars switch seats to provide equal viewing opportunities. The seats are hard wood, so bring cushions. Overall a nice diversion and unique way to see the leeward (west) coastline of Oahu. Good for children especially. Staff very hospitable.

A wonderful volunteer organization!…read more Check the website because each day of the week they typically are routine with the location and time frames for cleanups. It isn't only cleanups, they handle restoration and land management by preservation, teaching, and so much more. Kimeona and his team are well versed and well organized in what they are doing. They have equipment so when you arrive, after you fill out the documents online, you are ready to go. Of course prepare by getting a good meal in you, staying hydrated, bring water (they also supply water but bring your reusable water bottle), comfortable clothes and shoes, and be prepared to "give back"! I love learning history and culture and the oli and taking care of the Aina. I don't want to give away too much, but at the same time I want to share everything. I have been volunteering with this team, mostly at the same place, although I met up at Magic Island and it needed, for a couple of years. My takeaways, it's personal for me.

When people come visit Hawaii, they think about the beaches, food, partying, etc... People don't think about the impact it has on the ecology. We decided to pay our respect to the land that we enjoyed by helping clean it. This organization was more about teaching what is around us versus just picking up garbage. We first removed evasive trees along the river. The cool thing was that we moved the branches to a different area that feeds certain Beatles. Then months after the tress/branches were stepped on and crushed to be part of the earth. After about an hour and half of work we took a little environmental tour to learn of the necessary ecological balance needed for the islands. We saw the last type of a certain succulent, we saw endangered shrubs, and Hawaiian bees that are also endangered. We go to Hawaii and take, this time we gave back

travel2change - Beach clean-up and yoga in Waikiki with Jonathan from Yoga Loves Mana & Travel2Change!

Community service followed by meditation on the beach. Awesome!!…read more I learned about Travel2Change through my UH cohort. As a second year grad student, this was my first offsite team building event that I attended. Travel2Change is a non-profit organization that offers various activities focused on sustainability and giving back to the Hawaiian culture on the islands of Kauai, Maui, and O'ahu. From a beach clean-up followed by a sunset yoga class, to a trek into the native forest to protect indigenous wildlife, there's an activity to fit your passions! Just visit their website to explore. On Saturday's from 10:30am to 12:00pm, Jonathan from Yoga Loves Mana hosts the beach clean-up and yoga. He provided the bags and gloves for the clean-up. In 15 minutes, we collected four bags of litter from the grassy area and shoreline between the Aquarium to the lifeguard house just beyond the barefoot beach cafe. This was a great way to give back, keep paradise beautiful, and to show others the spirit of Aloha Āina! After the clean-up, we did an hour of Vinyasa style yoga in the shaded grassy area underneath the swaying palm trees and were sprinkled with a little bit of rain every now and then (it felt really good!). Jonathan has 15 years of experience and his teaching skills were kind and gentle for a few of us beginners. He made it very clear that the session was about the spiritual energy you feel from your core and put back into the universe, known as "Mana", and to not worry if you're inexperienced. We all felt very comfortable and he did a wonderful job guiding us on breathing techniques and stretching throughout the hour. Check out their website to see what they offer. Let friends from out-of-state know how they can see Hawai'i from a different perspective or share this with your friends and family from the Island. I felt really great after the clean-up and mediation through yoga. I highly recommend it!

The race started in 1985 and hopefully this isn't the last of the Great Aloha Run. The community loves this event and looks forward to it every year. Thank you to Carol Kai for coordinating this race for so many years and raising so much money for local charities in Hawaii. All the best in the next chapter of your life. The run couldn't be a success without the many sponsors and 1000s of volunteers. Big thank you to Watanbe Floral for handing out flowers to all runners, for the motivating band music from 25th infantry, Nanakuli HS, Kalaheo HS, Farrington HS, Puuhale Elementary School, UH Marching Band, and Kalaheo HS. Thank you again to Carol Kai and all the volunteers that made this great event happen.

The starting point was Aloha Tower and the end point was Aloha Stadium. We walked the 8.15 mile course and - I thought that I was going to die... I asked my friends to carry me to the Finish Line... LOL! I told myself that I would never do this race again because it was so painful... Even though it's for a good cause. Many organizations benefit from the Carole Kai Charities - which was founded in 1985. This year - 2022 - was different. I knew that Aloha Stadium was going to be demolished at year's end and that The Great Aloha Run would not be the same. This time, the race would be virtual and participants would be allowed to drive through Aloha Stadium and cross the Finish Line with their vehicles. Wow! Sign me up! My friend, Jessica P., in Las Vegas agreed to join me - virtually! Cool, eh? Thanks, sissy! Anyway, we paid online and received our "In Training" shirt in the mail. We're supposed to get our Finishers' shirt and medal in this manner, too. We were to log our miles online and be entered in a drawing for super great prizes like airfare for four people on Alaska Airlines! We signed up for a drive-through time. I chose 1:45pm which was the latest time. I wanted to take my time and not have a lot of cars behind or in front of me at Aloha Stadium. It turned out great! My sister from Colorado rode in my car with me. It was fun because she used to be a disc jockey and she knows a lot of media people. She saw her friend at the KRTR booth and got a chance to catch up with him. My sister was a good support. When I felt nostalgic and teary, she pepped me up and helped me hold it together. I remembered all of the fantastic concerts (like Michael Jackson, Bruno Mars, and Kalapana) and fun football games that I attended. Farewell to Aloha Stadium. See you again in 2023 as a brand new Entertainment Center with shops, restaurants, and living spaces! A hui hou! Thanks to the cheerleaders, Wahiawa Middle School Band, Hawaii Pacific Health, and other sponsors who volunteered to make this event such an organized and memorable experience!

I found her by accident, but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise. She's helped me to evolve into a better version of me on every level. Mentally, physically, emotionally, financially, and spiritually. She has guided me to tune into my inner voice, and also my higher self. Since working with Brandi, I have started my own auto-detailing business, moved on from bad habits and break the chain of repeating past failures. I have found new value in everything in life, as everything matters! If your trying to lose weight or get a better routine, Brandi has the tools and insight to get to the core of why you make the choices you do. Instead of pointing out just one diet, she went over everything from general health tips, to specific habits based on my biological being, physiological behavior, and my emotional stability. I've suffered from caving into my cravings of comfort foods that reminds me of my childhood, not knowing that healing these cravings on a emotional level would more than satisfy these cravings (without the calories). There is so so so much more that Brandi has helped me with, there's just not enough space/time to write it all! She tackles issues from all angles, and helps to create tailor made opportunities to correct these issues specifically to your lifestyle. No two people are going to have the same coaching as everyone is walking different paths in life, thru different forests. Brandi has been the guiding light thru my dark forest, and I'm more than thankful that she has used her gifts to help me grow!! My respect for her grows everyday as I see myself growing everyday and becoming better and better with the help of coach Brandi. I can't thank her enough for I can see with clarity the success of both of my businesses, my family life, mindset, and spirituality because of her guidance while staying alignment with myself, which is most important.
