If you've never had flammkuchen, I can't think of a better place to try it than the Hugo Ball Flammerie & Bar. I had a fantastic evening with friends and family at this casual, but very comfortable, café in Neukölln.
Flammkuchen (literally, flame cake) is an oven-baked crispy crust with toppings, which sounds a little like pizza - but to even make that comparison is almost insulting. It's a German regional specialty topped with the most delicious things you can imagine.
Take the S-Bahn 41 or 42 to Sonnenallee. It's right across the street from the station. And consider saving a bit of time for a stroll through this interesting neighborhood in Berlin. read more
