Max threatened to vandalize my home - - rip out my tile and remove cabinet hardware - - unless me…read moreand my significant other rushed back to get home within 15 minutes even though we were both working. All that we wanted was to both get to the house at around 5:30pm to inspect the work but apparently that wasn't good enough for Max. We were not trying to renegotiate the contract. We were trying to enforce the contract to make sure everything was done that we agreed to verbally and written before paying. We both had to abandon our jobs and risk getting fired in order to pay max at around 2:30pm instead of 5:30pm. When we got to the house around 1:15pm, the work wasn't even completed. So why did he threaten to do that? We had to wait another two hours for him to finish before inspecting the work. All the while we are not working at our own jobs. Overall the company did an awful job on my opinion especially when you include the service aspect. Communication was awful too, and I believe there is grout haze all over my marble tile that I may have to hire someone to get off. We were told that the work was going to be finished in two and a half days but it took six days to just put in a new kitchen backsplash! Max didn't even show up to supervise the work during the entire time. It seems that he's not committed to performing everything that he promises to do based on verbal and written estimates. He'll make promises to get the job, but when you ask if he's done everything that he promised before paying him, he'll accuse you of "renegotiating the contract" even though you're just trying to verify that everything was done appropriately. We agreed verbally that I would pay $2100 if he would add knobs to the living room built-ins and adjust the kitchen cabinet. The written quote was for $2000. Initially he verbally quoted $1800. I never said or implied that I wasn't going to pay him. My advice is to the owner is to not threaten to damage the home of clients before the work is even complete. Ultimately to keep him from acting on his threat, I just paid him the money to get him out of my house. Any mistakes I'll hire someone else to fix. See attached text message where he messaged us and attached contract.

Our job was a kitchen and bathroom remodel and morphed into a little more. As we expanded the job, the work was never beyond their ability - the quality of the work was never compromised and there was never an issue of asking of too much. Many time contractors flee the moment they can because the job has been completed but Sean and Tim made sure we were satisfied and if not they corrected at their cost These guys hustle, show up and follow thru - that is the way busy is conducted in my mind. He is extremely slow which works to his advantage at $90/hour, showing up when its convenient for him because he never gives you an exact time. Took him a week to do a 2 day job. He charged us an unexpected $1400+ for texturizing the garage ceiling and painting the garage, without clearly outlining all that he was doing, his outrageous rate or a complete estimate for the job. What a joke. After finally agreeing to a reasonable price he promised to drop off a check the next day. Instead he showed up two days later with a check for half of what he promised. When I texted to ask why he had gone back on our agreement he told me to "lose his number." This is my experience, but you have been warned.

Serge is…read morevery responsive and gave me a detailed price quote but allowed me to customize the quote to meet my budget. He also found a cabinet manufacturer that would give me the look I wanted but within my budget. He allowed me to set up some payments based on completion milestones instead of paying everything up front and he also offers credit! The kitchen is looking amazing and I was very happy and surprised at the level of customization that took mid grade manufactured cabinets to highly custom cabinets once he finished with them. My only advice is to make sure you don't skip the sit down with your GC to discuss your lay out and sign off on it so that you don't have any misunderstandings. I was very busy and missed our scheduled meeting and ended up with a wrong cabinet ordered. Luckily, it was easily switched out for the correct one. Serge also did some extra work for me that I wasn't expecting in order to make up for the brief delay, which was a nice surprise. Serge has a great person doing his carpentry work for both rough in and finish, and he took the waviest of walls and scribed the trim and crown molding so that it looks virtually perfect. I hope to use Tex-Tile Construction again in the near future and was happy to know that he has very reasonably priced subs in several other key areas. Bottom line is that Serge tries very hard to please his customers, is accommodating and he even does some of the work himself when appropriate , which you don't see much anymore.

Bathroom remodeling affected us two ways. First, the excitement of finally after twenty-two years…read moregetting a new master bathroom. Second, comes the dreaded search for a master contractor. We asked friends, looked over ads and turned towards Yelp. It was decided that we would settle for no less than a five star rating wanting to avoid the pitfalls so often heard about shady contractors. The ALC Remodel team arrived (Gabriel and Luan) dressed nicely in company shirts and a nice honest proposal of which we finally accepted. Prior to start, Gabriel de Franca, gave us a list of supplies that we could purchase (at the local box store) using my military discount. It saved us allot on our big items like our bidet, sinks and shower head units. Day one began, as each day, with the crew covering our bedroom furniture and rug with plastic. The destruction phase is the worst, but ALC did all they could to limit the dust including a plastic door that effectively sealed off the work area. We watched carefully as the ALC folks (Joseph and Jonas) came each day, always on our requested time and finished after a full day's work in time for us to have a nice dinner and evening. Payments were divided into four segments, each paid at completion of a phase. We paid nothing up front. ALC's work was completed within the agreed time line below original estimate. The final product is stunning! STUNNING! What makes the look so special is the workmanship. Maybe the right word is artist for each tile, every marble panel, even the final touches to paint and presentation was just perfect. Final thoughts; we were so impressed by ALC Remodel. More than just a team, the company is family and the work absolutely shows through. If we could give Six Stars we would gladly give them ALL SIX!

Richard and his team did a tremendous job bringing everything up without wrecking the place. The tile was laid in a brick style and looks stellar! He explained what he could do, what my options were to lay the tile, how long the job would last and finally a fair price to get it all done. The job took a few days and we are extremely happy with the final product. Tile was laid perfectly, the job site was cleaned well, and the price for labor was phenomenal.
