What a treat! Hubby and I split the 5-piece tender meal for lunch (comes w/fries, coleslaw, & Tx toast). Delish! We ordered our tenders GRILLED. They were plump and moist. Lots o' places have breaded, and no doubt those are just as tasty. But grilled, that was gooood! I'd eat here again if we lived close, but we were just passing through...and so glad we stopped. Tonight was the first time my boyfriend and I tried this restaurant, and we both agreed that it was a knockoff version of raising Cane's. It's slightly different than raising Cane's but they are nothing compared to raising cane'. Chicken was dry and the breading was soft. The fries were soggy. The only thing I really liked about my food was the coleslaw. Their signature sauce was a complete replica of cane sauce just a smidge different. Otherwise disappointing. Wont be going back. We like this place. Battlefield road location. Simple 3 strip, fries, and drink. The chicken came out hot, fries also hot. (So many places the fries are only warm upon arrival and if I'm gonna eat food that is bad for me I like it to taste good ). I placed my take-out order for sauced chicken tenders online and used a coupon for a free cookie. I honestly believe that they were the best chicken tenders / chicken strips I've ever had! Somehow the chicken was incredibly soft but thoroughly cooked. Usually chicken tenders are crunchy and dry. I ordered them sauced with their buffalo sauce and had the spicy Magoo dip. The fries were great, the Texas toast was good but the chicken tenders were outstanding! I highly recommend this place and the next time I'm back in Springfield I will visit it again! read more

The staff who worked on 8/10/2025 around 11am-12pm... truly, out did themselves, everyone and everything was PERFECT, I couldn't have had a better 1st time experience with a restaurant in my entire life. The tenders actually have some seasoning in their breading mix! This is a refreshing difference from all the other tender restaurants and something that immediately sets them apart. The meat is well cooked and remains pleasantly juicy. The fries and bread are...okay. I see a couple of folks complaining about salt. I feel like the fry seasoning is heavy handed with the pepper. I've tried the buffalo and the ranch sauces. Personally, I felt like the buffalo was a bit too vinegary and the ranch is a bit too bland. They're not horrible, just not what I expect in each. Overall, the food and service is slightly above average and IMHO doesn't deserve negative reviews. read more

I kept hearing about this place so I finally decided to give them a try. I got a five piece hand breaded tender meal and I'm neither disappointed or too crazy about this place. The tenders were hot and fresh and the chicken batter they used was pretty good. It put me in mind of some better quality KFC. The fries were a little on the salty side and then they were crinkle cut fries which I don't consider to be my absolute favorite kind of fries. The service was okay and they kept forgetting things but they were a little busy when I visited so I'll give them that. The ambiance was kind of different for a fast food chicken place. Overall it wasn't really anything too special. I might give them another try once the newness of this place dies down a little. read more

I've been twice. First time we ate inside the restaurant. Food was good. Service lacked. The person at the register was not interested in being there at all, and wasn't super friendly. Second time we used the drive thru, as we were headed somewhere and needed to grab food to eat once we got to our destination (20 minutes away). They got the order incorrect giving me two buffalo wraps instead of plain Magoo Wraps, which I didn't discover till I got to our destination. When I called, the person said I could come back and they would remake my order, or the next time I came in I could eat for free. I was 20 minutes away, and a free meal next time doesn't help me feed my daughter now. When asked if I could just get a refund, she said not with out a receipt. Oh you mean that receipt you didn't give me??? Food is good (which is why the two stars), but service big thumbs down. read more

Huey Magoo's came out of nowhere for me. I had never heard of it so I had zero idea what to expect upon arrival. The vibe inside was clean and there was a surprising amount of seats for a place this size. Service was fast and accurate. The food was almost identical to Canes. I say that in a good way. Having this place way closer to my house is a home run when I'm craving chicken. Far better than KFC and Popeyes service is so terrible that I will no longer go there. read more

Today was my first time to Huey Magoos. First, let me say the food was good. Second though, your menu did nothing to help me really understand how to navigate it. I ordered the 4 piece and a buffalo chicken sandwich. I didn't realize they both came with fries so I had a lot of fries, but they were really good. They were hot, the spice level was perfect and they weren't too salty (maybe they're reading their reviews). Secondly, I didn't realize the chicken sandwich was just chicken tenders in a bun and it was very hard to eat without the chicken tenders falling off the sandwich. And lastly, please don't give me a big piece of sourdough looking bread and call it Texas toast with fries and chicken tenders please I would much rather have a drink. read more

Took a visit to Springfield and saw a chicken strip joint, not expecting much. I ordered the Buffalo chicken sandwich and it was nothing short of exceptional. The fries were nicely seasoned as well (something that Raising Cains does not do) and the sauce was very good (also something Raising Cains does not do) equaling out to be an awesome meal. However, the card reader gave my party members fits, so this left me no choice but to leave a star off an otherwise nearly perfect meal experience. read more

Have tried them twice and loved the food both times. The first time we had the fried tenders and the second visit we had the grilled tenders. Both were super moist and cooked fresh. Sometimes grilled chicken tenders are dry and rubbery at faster food places, but these were moist and really well seasoned. Four stars is only because their younger front of house staff need some training on customer interaction. We were not greeted or spoken to until we initiated a hello and ordering.
