Strong recommendation for plumber. I've always done the plumbing on our houses. I'm not great, but functional. We took over both sides of our duplex and wanted to combine the hot water and replace the 20 year old water heater. I worried that this was a bit beyond my skills, so I bit the bullet, called 3 plumbers, got estimates from two and decided on Hudson in Martinsville. They came to estimate the same day. Kedge gave a lot of good information not only about the job, but about our systems in general. I got the written estimate Monday, accepted it and they scheduled for the next morning. Nate and Bill showed up on time. Both were very friendly and informative. And the work - beautiful. I do sloppy pvc. I have done copper and it's worse. Nate's work was beautiful. I had been dithering about paying someone to do what I probably could have done and then I saw his work. I saw the difference between an amateur and a pro. $1550. Next day service. Two hours to do what would have taken me at least all day and the end result is a thing of beauty. I'm a happy boy. Hudson Plumbing. Good name to remember. And no, I don't work for them. Our 20 year old water heater finally gave out and started leaking, so time for a new one. One call to Hudson and they came to investigate if repair was possible. We agreed it needed replaced and was given a price, which might have been a bit higher than the big box stores, but same day service and professionalism is worth a bit more. Justin and David, the installer's were A++ Awesome. They arrived promptly, had the old heater out and new one installed within an hour and a half! They used a shop-vac to clean the area before installing the new one and mopped the residual water up. They were very thorough going over the removal and installation, purging lines and assuring the new heater was producing hot water and leak free before leaving. Other than a new water heater you'd never have known they were here. Overall a great experience with Hudson plumbing and would highly recommend, especially Justin and David! You can never go wrong with Hudson Plumbing. I had them come out today to flush out my main line due to slow draining water. This is the second time I have used them in the last few years and this time was just as good as the first. Keaton Hudson was fast and left his work area clean. He was able to easily access the main line in the basement rather than go through the toilet upstairs. My home is almost 80 years old and my main line gets clogged from time to time most likely from tree roots invading old lines. I'm sure one day I'll eventually have to have it dug up and replaced. When that time comes I will definitely will have them do the work. Price wise they are not the cheapest but are also not the most expensive. I would describe them as mid range and worth every penny. Tremendous! Chad came out on a Sunday to assess the problem - called ahead to get details and arrived with a happy friendly attitude. I've lived in a 100 year old house for 5 years and always had slow draining everywhere upstairs. Other plumbers have come out, charged an arm & a leg, making it just a little better. Chad explained why the clogging was so hard to clear out, and it looked like my historic kitchen was going to have to be destroyed to get to the pipes. After some heavy worry on my side and a lot of hard work by Chad, he FIXED it without having to dig into my walls. I have literally never seen my bathtub & sink drain normally! A few months ago at Head Start in Martinsville there was a leak in the 3 bay sink, Elliott came and put in a gasket and was done in no time. Friendly, efficient, and professional. Recently when there was another plumbing issue to replace a faucet in a ladies restroom and a toilet in one of the children's classrooms I didn't hesitate and Hudson was my first and only call, Dean Hudson was quick to set up an appointment within the time frame we had available. The toilet was a special order and Elliott kept me informed. Chad and his helper were here in a few days and took care of both problems without any issues or interruptions to the classroom.
