Yesterday, two people called and left a message to confirm the appt I had scheduled for tomorrow. I called today to confirm my appt and this is what I got - my appt was cancelled. No one bothered to call me to cancel, only to confirm. Are you kidding me?! This is second time this has happened. This time in Decatur and last time in Champaign. My exam, etc. is way late due to these two cancellations. Both times, dentist is no longer there and they have no openings to see another Dentist. I give them a zero score, not one. What a f-ing racket! Go somewhere else!

She always answers all my questions in a very detailed way. She also shows me images of the way my teeth will look when the treatment is complete. She gives clear instructions about the procedures I have to follow for my home care, and is always very supportive and encouraging regarding my progress. I was very impressed that Dr. Huls not only caught it but presented it as a treatment option. He is more expensive than other orthodontists but it's well worth the money not to have to get corrective treatments from another orthodontist.

But well before Dr. Rose became the main, issues were becoming difficult to handle. On top of the hour drive here for the fair prices which were well under the price gouging of my Tippecanoe country options, the mismanagement and lack of smart scheduling pushed wait times to insane delays. It is beyond me how an established setup with centuries of experience among the staff is unable to ensure appointments are easy to make and kept on time. I even popped in one time without an appointment and forced my retainer checkup into their schedule because it had become so difficult to drive two hours and wait another half hour for a five minute visit. These guys desperately need a proper system to set times and days online and reduce waits. That leads to the main problem, my feedback is ignored. I've requested an entirely plastic based retainer over five years running. I pointed out each visit with everyone how I could not wear my retainer every night due to it cutting my gums and make me bleeding by the third morning. They did not care but happily tried their pliers on the wires every year then asked if it felt better. This is why these old fashioned medical setups are going down. It is crazy enough with insurance corruptiom and corporate trash taking advantage of us to top it with basic requests being ignored while wasting hours.

They said my case would be too difficult to work with their trays. I'm glad they did because I liked the idea of dealing with an actual orthodontist during my treatment. Looking back I would say that the process and what I could realistically expect should have been explained a little better than it was during my initial visit. I started my treatment in September 2019. They had an affordable payment plan that actually fit into my budget. They've been pretty accommodating when I've had any issues. I just came to the end of my two year treatment on 4/27.2922. Dr. Chen did a great job transforming my smile and worked hard to get my desired final results. I'm pretty picky and he was more than happy to order me new trays after I officially ended treatment but wasn't quite happy with the results. I'm very happy with my smile now and would highly recommend Smile Doctors.
