Dr. Fil is amazing and his support staff couldn't be nicer! So much better than any of the other choices in the area.

No-one had poked their head into the room even once to apologize for or explain the delay. That was already a delay of FORTY minutes early in the day, at 10:00. Either very bad scheduling or simply greedy. So after waiting for FORTY minutes, I decided to just leave. I'd had enough. When I opened the door of the room I was in, there was the doc sitting at a desk doing paper work. If this were my practice, I would, first, have kept me informed about the delay, and, having totally failed at that, I would have called me, the patient, when I'd arrived home to apologize and say that maybe we could reschedule. But, NO, NOTHING. Nothing except billing my insurance company for an appointment that ended up not happening. These people are among the rudest I've ever encountered. They care not a whit about the patients, only about the money.

Frustrating customer experience. Potential racism. Absolutely treated me like a fool…read more Their messaging/call center is obtuse and frustrating. I've had to repeat that my insurance will not approve a medication the office provided several times and only gotten it resolved by going directly to an office to speak with a staff member. The Port Jervis location in NY has a receptionist who gives me (a person of color) dirty looks each time I go there. Even asking for the wi-fi password they did not seem to appreciate that I was speaking to them. Today I went to follow up because I had to get bloodwork submitted to them in order to try Accutane. They were supposed to call me but I had no messages from them. Turns out they called me "a million times" according to the acting physician and because they need "consistent follow-up" they decided I am not a good fit for Accutane. Mind, I'm not on it nor was it ordered. I apologized because I'd been having phone issues and asked to just update my contact info. They repeated what they'd said and when I said "okay" they turned around and left. I did the same. No asking me if I would like a follow-up appointment, no further elaboration. "Yeah so we asked you to do bloodwork and we were going to call you to confirm when we received it, we called you a million times including your emergency numbers and you didn't respond, so we feel you are not a good fit, we're not going to do anything about it have a good day no we don't care that you're sorry." I was on Azelaic Acid and Trentinoin for a while. They gave me a month supply which was a single tube. I had to go to 2 visits for them to agree that my skin damage was too extensive for one tube a month. I spoke with an older doctor who saw the damage and said "yeah, you need more than Acid/Trentinoin." Completely invalidated what the last 3 doctors said. Every doctor I spoke to after him gave me a side-eye like I wasn't supposed to know that.

During my last visit, I came in to have a brown spot near my eye, treated with cryotherapy. Just before the doctor applied the freezing agent, I noticed she was aiming it directly at my face and close to my eye. I asked her to adjust the angle away from my face, but instead of angling it away from my face, she angled it toward my eye/nose. It happened quickly and it was a bit alarming! After the incident, I attempted to address my concerns about patient safety and comfort through a professional email exchange. Unfortunately, I was repeatedly bounced from one department to another, with no one taking real responsibility. Eventually, my concerns were ignored altogether. There was minimal acknowledgment of what happened, no meaningful follow-up, and no offer of goodwill. If this were my business, I would've reduced the fee or, at the very least, offered a discount on a future visit. Instead, my request was dismissed--and I was sent a letter stating they would no longer provide me with care which was quite insulting. I paid my bill in full and was nothing but professional throughout, but I feel the way they handled this situation was rather surprising. I won't be returning, and I won't be recommending them. They clearly don't value patient feedback.
